To my thinking, the virtue of Taomeow“s horse is that it accurately reflects the astrological energy of the year: it actually looks like a Fire Horse. A rather nice one. Nungali“s horse makes me smile and, in it“s jokey childlike way, has some artistic flair. The mischievious boy in me likes the idea that this image Nungali made for giggles could actually be our banner. If we did make a poll, I suspect that Nungali“s image would have a surprisingy large "cult following." But it“s not really a Fire Horse.
There“s a paradox that lies at the heart of what this forum is about. We“re Tao Bums. Which is to say that many of us are serious spiritual practitioners (that“s the Tao part), but, at the same time we“re also Bums. Most of us have a little of both of these qualities though proportions vary. On a good day, I“m 30% serious Taoist, 70% Bum. This likely explains my impish advocacy of Nungali“s image. I suspect the final decision will be made by the adults in the room.
