I've asked the other mods if they are ok with this. Just waiting for any comments.

I made significant and extended contributions to that discussion. In the past two to three years I have done more work on the matter and have discovered that the Guardian Angel is only part of a more complete system. I don't have time right now to describe this in detail, but since I have been thinking for sometime about post this information on Dao Bums, this might be a good time to start that project. I will post more later as time permits. ZYD

I would like to propose a new sub-forum/discussion dedicated to native African religions or indigenous religions/belief systems in general. I'm sure that unlike me there are people who have immense knowledge on the subject and the desire to share that knowledge. What do you think?

A Briton? I find it intriguing that long before some British migrated to America, in the 4th century some Britons migrated to Armorica. Where they renamed Armorica Brittany. And became a special kind of French who call themselves Bretons. Straight from some sci-fi plot with parallel timelines, spacetime paradoxes and the like. P.S. Apologies all around for an off-topic tangent. This really belongs in my Stranger Things thread.

I would bet there would be more traffic, and less contention, than the new Neidan forum. About the only discussion there has been debate over Winn and Chia and an attempt to list legitimate schools. I think we could come up with a workable definition. You are indigenous to England but would not count because you are not a religion or belief system. Although some of us believe you are divine... Western? When the Western world encounters indigenous belief systems it tends to denigrate or eradicate them, then a century or so later name their sports clubs, autos, and restaurants after them... They are certainly not geographically limited to the West. The are esoteric and occult, but not really what was intended to be the subject of the Esoteric and Occult sub-forum here, I don't think. I would like to suggest they be honored and respected by having their own sub-forum or left in General Discussion.

There's men and women and there's male and female principles. A man is not 100% male and a female not 100% female - we are all a balance between 60/40% to 51/49%. So any individual has both male and female principles within which they need to balance, transmute and integrate. The maiden which the knight rescues represents the naked reality of the pure feminine consciousness (voidity) and the knight is the probing male questing consciousness which is seeking out the reality of the feminine. The dragon is the chaotic forces which obscure and prevent to perfect 'marriage' of the knight and the maiden.

My aunt is one. I’m no expert in the slightest of their spirituality, and sad part; it seems to be mostly dead to them as well. Lived realtivley peacefully together until the 17-1800s when some good souls decided to give them the one and only truth of the one true God, and save them from an eternity of hellfire. So some were burned alive instead, to compensate uknow. But in pre Christian times escpecially there was great respect, perfect fear, for their precieved magic ability. I read this book called tracing old Norse cosmology a while ago. Hardly remember anything, but there seems to have been quite a bit of mutual influence between the two world vies. Only natural, considering how long we lived alongside each other. I also think we have a little bit of a biased move about how various regions connect to each other. If you look at a map and the rivers and terrain you will see that traveling/trading etc. with the steppe and the east is just as accessible as any other direction. Anyhow, the time prior to being showed the light (17-1800s) they refer to simply as the age of the drum. Here is pic of one of the shaman drums: This would have been beaten rythmically while chanting, very possibly with the aid of the Amanita mushroom 🍄 filtered trough reindeer urine in order to enter the spirit realm. The design on each drum is unique and is believed to represent the personal experience of the shaman trough the spirit realm. Curious that Santa is dressed in red and white and travels on flying reindeers delivering gifts, no? Anyhow, enjoy: edit: The above is called joik. Sami chantig that is. No words, just sounds. Throwing in some folk music from the faraoes (settled by Norwegians, their language however is believed to resemble old Norse to a significant greater degree than the Scandinavian ones). Here words are used, but rhythmic drum and chanting as well as you can hear:

No cult - just a suburban context. Often there are external interferences in the flow - and I show the individuals how to deal with them. And I watch their process. Removal of the interferences results in the people cheering up, standing straighter and looking brighter.

Dear Dao Bums, Has anyone here on the forum done SFQ level 5? I remember looking at it many years ago, where it boasted of secrets of connecting with ancestors, prolonging life, increasing jing and longevity, supercharging lower dan tien and kidneys for vitality, rainbow energy bone marrow cleansing, opening all spiritual senses and much more. In the commercial films from the retreat people were meditating in front of a large lake, with Chunyi Lin empowering each one-by-one using sword finger to their 3rd eye. When I look at the official page today, it's much more modest in its claims; now it's called "beyond qi" and talks about "advanced qigong", "advanced tian mu", "opening spiritual senses", "increasing healing power". However, I still would love to go for a sense of completion, having done SFQ level 1-4, and having used his qigong and meditation for many 49 day cycles, having had several very expensive one-on-one sessions with him, as well as healed maybe 20-25 people using his system. I always get a deep sense of personal satisfaction and delight when completing something, and taking level 5 would give me that. Further, it would of course also be super interesting to sample and experience first hand the "qi menu" offered (the tian mu and spiritual senses methods). So, looking for experiences here; anyone ever attended? If yes, what was your experience? God bless you

sounds rather western and/or buddhist (negative dragon) and quite advanced (consciousness/marriage). is it not rather the ten thousand things that obscure and prevent? poor (female unleashed) scolded dragon, it seems to hide in voiditiy. Can’t say that about the emotions men have about theirs. Else we could stay on topic, maybe? No one here for the eastern perspective on dragons and some positivity? No one to talk about the emotive practice for women? It’s a real men’s club, here, I feel like leaving again.

Coming back to this thread, almost 14 years later. It's been quite a ride. A couple of points, HGA certified. 1. Hands Off: The Holy Guardian rarely gets involved in a person's life, without being asked. The amount of times this has occurred in my life, can be counted on one hand. All of these times, were when I was making regressive decisions and inhibiting my "long term" growth, in a "Cosmic" context. That being said, if you pray.....they'll be there.....whether you perceive them or not. 2. The Angelic current: is a path of profound light and when you seek K&C, your going through a process of becoming "attuned" to that Light. 3. K&C: is a process that accelerates you growth in significant ways. Deep cleansing, Energetic sensitivity and Increased Magical Knowledge, all factors.

Yeah its a funny word which seems to have changed meaning. Maybe we could use it if we do decide to set up a sub. Look forward to see what others think.
  22. 1 point
Indigenous was the word that came to my mind not to use others that might be offensive. Not the perfect adjective, indeed. Makes sense what you propose Apech. If the threads have any meaningful traffic then, we could consider a discussion sub-forum.
  23. 1 point
I'm not against the idea although I'm not sure it would get much traffic. Also what counts as 'indigenous' given I am indigenous to England ... would that count? Maybe it would be better to have threads in Western Esoteric on Native American, African, Aboriginal beliefs?
  24. 1 point
This is corect "related system/s in the psyche generally (as 'parts of the soul" The ideas go back at least as far as Plotinus and also appear in the Golden Dawn, so that they must have had considerable influence in between to have survived so long. I have a rough draft of a paper I am working on which deals with the material, and I will work it up into a more coherent form, but I will probably do it in a separate discussion from this one. ZYD

To me, it seems that you have created this life with affliction and demons. You keep fighting because this is all you have known. So much so that this has become your Karma. You wrote this story. So, where do you go from here? It would seem that you really need an experienced teacher to work with you and guide you out of this self-made prison. I am sorry if that sounds harsh. But, I am like the madman in the desert looking for the Oasis. I know it is there. Just haven't found it yet. I wish you well.

There is a very good chance that you have spent a great deal of time and effort learning and building this knowledge of the Dharma. So much so that it has become like a brick house. Each lesson or brick laid in place and cemented to stand the fury of the outside winds and rains. But, as everyone knows, it is the empty space which provides us we a living area. You have mentioned creeping vines which to me were thoughts which creep in while one is trying to just sit. And it has shown me my own creeping vines. These things are the remains of what is left fighting to be ego. A self saying to itself, I am here, sitting quietly. This I is the watcher and the doer of not doing. This I prevents one from dropping this mind and moving forward to cross the stream. It is like another trap the mind has created. I am here. I am aware. The mind created this I which is keeping me separate. So, if one drops the mind then the illusion drops away and the absolute appears? Does one see the truth that this is temporary? That there is no need to cling to pleasure or pain? But, this is life and to drop the mind and feel the heart? There may not be happiness but there should be a lightness? Yes, not a Buddha, nor enlightened, nor even a good student. This I understand from my own experiences. Happiness, yes, but no need to hold it. Sadness, yes, but no need to push it away. Just space for things to arise and go away. I think you know much more than your words show.

We are all falling down tumbling and spinning arms and legs flailing that moment as you go over the top and know there is no return . I remember ... back then . we were riding a wave high and proud but as time went on our journey became vertical uncontrollable Too late now we are all falling down tumbling and spinning arms and legs flailing trying to swim through the air that does not give purchase or grip to anything we can try .

For me, books provide hypotheses that I then test by repeated experiment, preferably with a competent friend observing in real time. I posted some experiments that might be useful to you. You might like to try them. Generally I am suspicious of the concept of "gods". Such a concept promotes the ideas of worship and workshop - thereby avoiding/denying the spiritual authority anchored in the standard human format. Who/what would benefit from such avoidance/denial?

    >The intelligence of the personality will You may recall in the Castaneda writings that Don Juan refers to the mind as a "foreign intelligence". That is a useful, if approximate statement. Each chakra properly has an intelligence to operate the relevant part of the human energy body. Thus there is an intelligence that operates the physical body and its thousands of parallel biological and energetic processes and sub-intelligences. Sometimes trauma and toxicity result in the managing intelligence giving up, leaving its subsidiary intelligences, including elementals, to do the best they can. Severe autism often is a symptom. The energies of the mental plane used in the human mind can be divided into lower and higher mental. The lower sub-plane substances properly are managed by a dedicated intelligence that can be called: the personal will. The PW protects its primary asset: its self esteem. It hates to be wrong, and will defend that asset by turning away from events, energies, relationships and intelligences that dispute its "wisdom". The PW is valuable as it forces the personality to get its act together - to protect the self-esteem of the PW. That requires the personality to control physical and emotional desires and lower frequency mental processes. Eventually the human has the personality sufficiently controlled that the human can interact with transpersonal/spiritual energies. At that point the PW fights for its continued existence. Eventually, after many incarnations the human spirit is strong enough to overcome the PW and the PW miraculously discovers that it actually has a higher function: creatively expressing the spiritual nature of the human spirit.

( Not sure if this should be in this general section or the teachers sections ? Mods, feel free to move it ) First, I am not going to try to sell you anything or 'sign you up' for lessons . This about the Tao te Ching ... not the Tao te Ka-Ching! ' Ch 1 . There is this thing . Its also not a thing . Also it is both a thing and not a thing. It also is neither a thing or not a thing. It is all of the above . But it isn't any of them . If you have dont want stuff well - that's a mystery ! If you do want stuff The whole manifested Universe awaits you . let;s say you have two spring rolls both may have the same sauce but they can have different names depending on whats inside them and that can be a mystery of mysteries . Ch 2 You think my sister looks hot but that's because Yo Momma be ugly. You guys can only see either end of the line . But the Sage just sees the whole line . You cant have stuff without no stuff. Stuff is just lines , not ends . Back always follows front otherwise you be chasing your own tail. Ch 3 If you flatter people they will try harder to impress you. If you overvalue stuff you will pay more for it. Try to please people and they will get suspicious. Forget what you know and what you want Stop doing stuff all the time ! Ch 4 If the thing is empty and has no source it cant run out alls it got is little potential n+ s and n- s that make nuthings . Then put your hara in the center of all that . Ch 5 the Universe is neutral Judgement is based on comfort . The space between heaven and earth is the atmosphere It can get windy Stick to the surface or you could get blown away . Ch 6 The valley here is under a 'Big Mom' dome . My teacher said just ask her for whatever you want - you'll get it . Ch 7 heaven and earth last forever Why do heaven and earth last forever ? I just told you it did stop asking questions. If you dont do anything you cant fail at it . Ch 8 be like water then you will be good for all living things and flow along without thinking where you are going who knows where you will end up ? But dont be an arsehole about it . Ch 9 Stop taking and using up all our stuff ! Dont re-tune your lawnmower if it doesnt need it. leave things alone , fer Gawd's sake ! Ch 10 if you can be like a baby woman thats good . (tbc)
