  1. Tin Yat Dao Sect

Regardless of what people's opinions are about the guy, it is a fact that when our dear ol pal Yoda got the visitors he kept wishing for and they would not stop bothering his entire family and would not go away when asked, Mak Tin Si's efforts saw Yoda's family have some peace from the now-unwanted visitors. I'm not saying it was strong enough to turn goat piss into gasoline, but the fu's and such worked in an actual we-know-this-guy case. Proof be in puddin' *shrugs*
  2. Tin Yat Dao Sect

Hi Folks I looked up our old friend Mak Jo Si who basically makes hundreds of videos about some aspect of Daoism, who tries as hard as he can to get his students and friends to validate his teachings. He has reinvented himself three times and is now calling his system Tin Yat Dragon. For any new people who has not come across him before, looking for Dao practices, he is a fraudster and really is only interested in your money and pumping up his own very inflated ego. It seems to me he reads alot of books and looks at videos and makes up his own versions of things that are part of a genuine Dao practice. He is not doing genuine Dao sects any favours with his obsession with guns and knives. Buyer be very aware is all I have to say.
  3. Bone Healing

1 tin of sardines every day for a week makes for massively accelerated bone healing. Yes there are some ZZ postures for opening the shoulders detailed in Mark Cohen's book. One of them is Wufi with the hands at the side so that the thumbs touch the centre line of the side of the leg .... for a few minutes then .... move hands back so the back of the hands rest underneath the crest of the pelvis, in the depression below. The back of the hands rest there at the top of the buttocks without the shoulders lifting and the effect is for the shoulder to be slightly opened. It's a posture that is not used in general but for beginners with closed shoulders. Other postures detailed in the book.
  4. Signs and life direction

Hi Wenwu! I think maybe you are being too hard on yourself. You don't need anyone else to validate you. Teachers and students come and go. Right now they have gone but keep working on yourself and that will change. And who cares about the accolades? Unless you compete professionally it's just a bit of painted tin and a fancy card in a frame... Sometimes in life there are stimulants that just feel so good you can lose yourself in them. Perhaps for you that's martial arts and lifting? Don't forget why you do these things. You control them, they don't control you. And watch out for that mystery injury. That's telling you something. Maybe you need to take it slow for a while, give yourself a chance to recover, you know? Lost
  5. Grand Master Pui Chan

I know him from the early 70s in Boston. And lots of other people from the Boston Gongfu scene in the 70s - Mark Bow Sim, Kwong Tit Fu, Tang Kwok Wah, even Lee Yat Ming, and others - and their students. Great people - all of them, and a fun time there with them. -VonKrankenhaus
  6. Seriously Need some Help

It doesn't need to be a heavy metal helmet. The fact is that a metal plate is the best way to block external chi, and it can be very thin and light, like foil. If a person is concerned about such things then they can line the inside of their hats with foil so the clueless will not accuse them of some kind of new age crap. In fact the term 'tin foil hat' is one that was created by the FBI as a preemptive strike against those who know what's going on. Where I come from we don't shy away from the negative, we embrace it to understand it. All benefits come with an equal level of burden.

  8. Tin Yat Dragon Taoism

At one time, he was touting himself as a modern day ghost busters group... armed with guns (in pictures) to remove any ghosts. I would personally advise you drop it and look for something more realistic and of substance. JMO. Here are his posts here: Tin Yat Taoist

One of the things that you can do on the Dao Bums is save search results by copying the address out of the space that has the IP address of the page you on. I did a search for Tin Yat as a topic and came up with the following: Search "Tin Yat" on Dao Bums There are a lot of good posts here which should give some idea of what is going on with Yin Tat Taoism. The most important one is probably this one: Yin Tat Taoism by Yin Tat Taoist There are also a few on Mak Tin Si. In a funny example of self-reference, the first thread listed in the search is this one. To give some credit where credit is due, it was our former staff member Kar3n who found out that you could save searches like this, and it is a real useful technique for data mining on Dao Bums. Edit: Corrected link to Yin Tat Taoism
  10. Tin Yat Dragon Taoism

I went to the site tinyatdragon.com and it confirmed what I thought, that it is: There was a great deal of activity related to his teacher, Mak Tin Si, and Chi in Nature, when I started on Dao Bums nine years ago. So searching under Mak Tin Si, and Chi in Nature would be the way to research this. I also seem to remember that this fellow, who seems to be in charge of teaching magic now, posted in the past year or so on Dao Bums to invite people to learn Daoist magic with him. I don't think he got much of a response, as really not many here are interested in Daoist magic to begin with, though there are a small number of Dao Bums that are. As a forum, the Dao Bums has no opinion about this group, we only post the opinions and experiences of our members about it. Our members opinions have varied, but if you follow the link in the post of mine that I quoted, you can get an overview, and more of our members may weigh in here about them. I did some research on their site when I first joined here, and as far as I can tell they do not represent a lineal descent from a specific school, but that the founders do represent some authentic aspects of Chinese magical tradition, and that they believe they were authorized in visions by the highest level of the Daoist Pantheon to teach. I would suggest a lot of "due diligence" in regard to any association with them, but that is my personal opinion as a person with a good familiarity with Daoist Ritual and magic, and should not be confused with any official position of the Dao Bums, even though I am a moderator here. As I have said the Dao Bums does not have an official position on this school. I hope other members who remember past interactions with this group will join in with the discussion. ZYD
  11. Tin Yat Dragon Taoism

Can anyone tell me more about this Guy. I tried searching here to see if this System is Discussed here. Would this be considered a genuine lineage ? I'm posting the website and another video : https://www.tinyatdragon.com/
  12. Rotating the Lower Dan Tien

Just in case it may be of interest to you, here is a Youtube video of the Shuang Yang Pei Ho Shaolin form I mentioned, first performed and explained by GM Tan Soh Tin: https://youtu.be/xzUUkov1XE0 The next is an earlier video of GM Tan Soh Tin: https://youtu.be/chZO1T0gtBI The video itself is not so interesting, but the narrative is very informative about the art. The third video is Sifu Iain Armstrong, who was an assistant instructor and part of the same team I went to Singapore with in 1987: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUUrYwdkGvw You will see that the video comes from NYPA...
  13. Rotating the Lower Dan Tien

Thank you Sudhamma, and my apologies for my absence. I have practised spontaneous movement Qigong, but to be honest I am a little confused as to the correct name for the form. The instructor who taught it to me has since changed his name and become an authorized Shaolin healing monk - using the same system he taught me. He called it 'The Golden Tablets 5 Elements Qigong'. He used to first draw the Qi in through the Baihui, then enter the state in which he could then 'charge up' his students either to heal them or assist in their MA practice. He was a Steel Wire Praying Mantis master, but apparently he was taught this technique by a grateful Sifu to whom he had lent his Temple school free of charge sometimes at the weekend when he wasn't using the facilities. In fact I had just wandered into the temple one day in order to watch how they trained. When he started 'charging up' his students, I received the energy, and when I returned home I found that I spontaneously entered into each of the 5 animals. When I told the Sifu what I had experienced the next day, he said we should see how I reacted when he actually charged me up. He was very surprised when once again I went through all five of the animals almost immediately - apparently this was unheard of, as it normally takes months or even years to get beyond the physical manifestation phase. After that he accepted me as an honorary student, although I did very little training alongside his students, other than assisting in 'charging them up' before they began their Gongfu training. But I disliked the fact that the energy would affect people around me, even involuntarily. At the time I was involved with Reiki and was working with quite a few sick people. I found that I could not avoid this energy entering them and activating them when they were supposed to be receiving a Reiki treatment. I realized that I was not able to fully close myself down once having opened myself up to the energy, and did not feel in control of it. In the temple I was able to charge up the other students just by being close to them, and I began to have serious doubts about the true source of the energy. So I stopped the practice. I should mention that there is another reason why I do not trust the energy. In 1987 I was a visit to Nam Yang Pugilistic Association in Singapore as part of a visiting team representing the UK in Shaolin forms competition. At one point, towards the end of the visit to Nam Yang a demonstration had been arranged by various other members of the Lion Dance association. One such demonstration involved a young bespectacled youth who we were told had never learned Gongfu. He knelt down and using his thumb began to massage his LDT (by the way is this what you meant by 'external massage'?). We were close enough to see his glasses misting up in the humidity and heat. After a while he began to move, but we could see that his eyes were closed. Following this we were witness to a display of the Five Animals that left all of us shaking. As he entered the state of each of the animals, his movements were accompanied by gutteral sounds which sounded so much like an animal that it sent shivers down our spines, especially when it came to the tiger and bear. I didn't understand at the time why following this, Master Tan Soh Tin grabbed hold of the young novice and severely reprimanded him for the demonstration. But when a few years later I was introduced to what I strongly suspect was the same energy, I realized why that young novice should probably not have demonstrated this Qigong in front of us. When moving through each of the animals the experience is extremely powerful, violent (aside from the deer, which is very gentle) and very frightening for the unprepared observer, especially back in 1987, when such things were unknown here in the western world. So anyway, it's just possible that this was one of my previous cultivation experiences which may have prepared me for developing the LDT movements such as those I have been describing. Just to touch on the subject of movements during Zhan Zhuang practice, I was remembering the first few years of my training with Kam Chuen Lam, and I do recall having great difficulty avoiding shaking all over until the Qi had begun to stabilize sufficiently. And I also recall that right at the beginning of our training we were taught to rock back and forth while in the Wuji posture (Wang Xiangzhai's version). This basically had the effect of massaging the Yongquan points of the feet, although Master Lam never fully explained why we should do this. But I could relate to this shifting of energy once I was in the 'holding the tree' posture, when a slight shift forward and backward of the hands either toward the body or away from it would cause one to be pushed forward or backward in the opposite direction to the movement - if that makes sense? No-one taught me to do that, I just used to feel tensions and releases and respond to them energetically. Master Lam said "I know what you're doing!". He didn't seem displeased, so I just continued experimenting. To get back to the subject of LDT movement, the more it goes, the more I realize that the key seems to be to initiate the movement using the eyes (physically rotating them). Being a physical movement it seems easier than trying to rely on the Yi to initiate the movement of the Qi in the dantiens. For some reason there seems to be an energetic link between the eyes and the LDT (well, actually even more so with the UDT, being so physically close to it). And I agree that the surrounding muscles seem to move along with the circulating Qi, in fact it is almost unavoidable, although with a great deal of concentration I can. In fact watching my own abdomen I am reminded of the way Yogis move the muscles of the lower abdomen. It looks and probably feels similar.
  14. Taichi, Hsing I, Bagua....etc

Cross posting from http://thedaobums.com/topic/24575-taijiquan-styles/page-8 Posted 02 January 2016 - 05:05 PM I have written about how I was thrown about and learned humility in meeting the ground from different angles from two of my Masters who were almost skin and bones and appeared hardly able to walk about. In 1990s, hardly any videos other than heavy weight video cameras were around. And even if I had, would hardly had taken videos of what I thought were normal occurrences , at least to me , after the initial phase of dis beliefs. After all, I met my Masters on almost every mornings and 2 sundays on of the month (other sundays were devoted to mountain climbings) All the stuff on weight transfer and muscle forces , waist power etc etc were driven out of me. Not that that will ever stop folks whose fixations will be that everything and all can and must be explained from the angle of Western sciences or even pseudo western sciences. I have seen a couple of videos where such tossing about reminded me of my times with those Masters. Let us bear in mind that while many stuff seen can be duplicated via cheating and playactings, and one can easily pooh poohed what is video tape as hogwash and fakes, true events occured. Such as talks of John Chang having some electric shock machine hidden on his body to give electric shocks. There was yet another Master at the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall training at the South Entrance that I had the chance of hands on even if I did not continued on with him. He was a big fat bloated Chinese man. His students who touched him were repelled away and I was in disbelief. He was nice enough to hand on with me and in the next moment, I felt a shock running through my body with me bouncing away. To be told by full time dedicated debunkers who know not where their mouth end and arsehole start that those events were done by hoax can be hilarious. They can believe in whatever that they want to believe in. The first video is of Lee Chu Gong of ChengJia taijichuan. His lineage is from Chen Fah Ker. Through Hong Jung Seng, CFK student. Do try to convince yourself that his fajing was nothing but sinking of body weight. Failing that, what you have seen must be a huge attempt to hoax gullible westerners of mysterious powers. I was thrown away by my Masters more dramatically than that in video as they knew of my judo background and ability to break falls and that I did not feel degraded by being tossed about. The next video is of an elderly gentleman in Bagua Chang. Do try to convince yourself that it was all mechanics of sinking of weight and bending of waist and alignment of feet and joints. Failing that it was all another hoax that clever Westerners will never fall for. Fajing is not a property of taijichuan. That Master Liu of that HsingKongYuan was not a taiji man even if he kept brushing aside what jia he was. I believed he was of the liu her bah fah 六 合 八 法 . He with my other Masters told me whatever jia or pai would not matter once one can ting jing and more important, dong jing. That was in 2009. Since I was writing on totally different kind of crowd (birdie/beastie folks) with my son making cameo appearances . I did not mentioned about it then. But it came into my mind when I was writing above. With my son in Budapest and Amsterdam // Setting the foundations for Riamfada's future My son was in Budapest taking part in an IM chess tournament after a lay off of many years. I took time off my Oman assignment to fly there to give him moral support. That winter was one of the coldest winter in Europe. Walking about Budapest left you frozen and after a couple of times, we did just hung about the hotel. My son had a black 1 dan in Aikido. I laid off my taijichuan since Tinkerbell came into my life and I could not find that 90 mins just to tick over and I thought I forgot it all. I had not seen him for a few years prior to Budapest and I was curious of his Aikido and talked of martial arts. We got to the corridor outside the room for a bit more space. On first hands on together, I was surprised at how stiff I perceived of him, his body and arm. As he moved in on me, I felt his intentions telegraphed to me. I thought aikido was soft and therefore aikido players should not be stiff like wood. I went into a li. It felt natural for me to fah jing into my li notwithstanding I laid off even ticking over taijichuan for 9 years. In the Li, his arm came and in that split second, I knew his body did not. To my horror, I pulled my son's arm out of his shoulder socket Needless to say, it all came to a stop. After that initial shock, I pop back the joint and to my relief, no lasting damage. He consoled me that happened before to him. Even so, I felt so quilty of what I had done. Idiotic Taoist who can be very stupid
  15. Not damaging the body

I often return to that part of Zhuangzi, I've read it many times and I quite like it, but lately i have not had many epiphanies when reading it and I tend to look elsewhere because I like epiphanies when I read. And Ziporyn's translation has been my favourite as of late. Sure, but revers flow is just another direction. it's not the same thing as the opposite of flow. Sure, here the directions are the opposites and the flow itself is not a part of that polarity. so in the sense of direction there is opposities in terms of directions, ecause if we have one direction then we must also have the opposite direction. What is there that flows? A stream of water flows but a rock stays still on the ground. A tiny pebble can flow down a mountains side while the mountain stays still. It is always a matter of perspective and context. We use this opposites to analyse reality and it is curcial to understand how dualisms works. You can't claim that a polarity in one aspect can be said to inherently have that polarity, it is only a polarity in the context of which that polarity is defined. Thus flow is opposite to stillness if we are talking about flow from an external perspective, but if we are talking about the qualities of flow then we can't talk about it as an opposite of stillness anymore, but rather must look at what the opposite of that quality is instead. The power of Yin-Yang theory is really this understanding of how dualisms work and how they are only applicable to the context of where the separation is made. And I interprete that part from Zhuangzi that you quoted in the post you refered to actually point this out. Yes, though i don't interprete it as to finding the changless within the change. Yes such is the nature of things. Everything in reality seems relative to something, and we interprete this reality as a complex of dualisms. And there is always Yin in Yang as there is always Yang in Tin. As there is no stillness there is no absolute flow either. There is just more or less flow and stillness. But in our mind there is such a thing as flow, and thus there is a such a thing as stillness in our mind aswell. And it is this way that we interprete the various forms of what is neither emptiness or form, that has neither flow or stillness. Yes. But I fail to see what this has to do with Yin-Yang theory. A circle is simply a circle, it has no other inherent qualities. If you call a circle perfect it is perfect if you call it imperfect it is imperfect. If there is such a thing as an perfect circle then there is such a thing as an imperfect circle. If there is vibration then surely there is stillness. Sure, it is always about perspective and context, such is our logic. But the concept of natural and unaturall only exists in our logic and is inherently a matter of perspective. What is the difference between a flow and Ziran? I disagree. Ziran is about attaining constant wu wei wu in accord to De. It is not flow it is flow without flow, it is not following it is following without following, it is not resonating it is resonating without resonating. Ziran is the same for all things. But Ziran manifests differently for different things. I don't fully understand what you mean, there seems to be inconcistancies in that which I interprete, perhaps I misunderstand you.
  16. neidan for dummies?

Re: ----- "Neidan is internal alchemy- so it should bring evident and discernable reactions such as "siddhis" or 'abilities above the human standard'" "If it does not, then it is in the same grouping as QiGong" ----- I'm not so sure about these statements. For example, many abilities can be attained from things like Iron Shirt type qigong that could fit the concept of "abilities above the human standard". I do not believe the qigong I learned is "better" than any other, so this must be true everywhere. And, in neigong we are moving towards a form of growth that is reaching into non-human, or ex-human - so the whole comparison falls apart. The completed spirit body is an ex-human (and, eventually, "cosmic") entity if attained through neigong or other human endeavors on Earth. At this point, we are actually uncovering the methods of true space travel, without tin cans. Actually, I should stop here. Because it is obvious that this is not really a "For Dummies" topic in the modern era. -VonKrankenhaus
  17. Hello i found this qigong video course: http://uniquepowerfulsecretqigong.com http://uniquepowerfulsecretqigong.com/qigong-order/ Does anybody have any experience with this DVD or this guy ? Iam looking for curing PREMATURE EJACULATION... Thanks
  18. Wang Liping Low Level?

Taoist are very powerful. When you hear authentic ordained Taoist think very powerful practitioner. Before my teacher demostrated the Golden Lotus to me he taught me the Tin Chon Wan. The clouds from heaven alchemy which is a rare training that is part of taoist cloud alchemy. This training lets you cultivate and actually manifest an actual thunder cloud between your palms. This training also gives you a lightness skill. Taoist have knowledge like this. Wang Li Peng if he is authentic ordained Taoist then he has knowledge like this. He would have too. For it isnt him that is question more of the sect he came from. When you say these things.
  19. Too much jing is an issue

That skill is called the "Tin Chon Wan" The cloud from heaven palm. I was told by my sifu that this was a part of taoist cloud alchemy but could be practiced as a individual skill. and yes I was taught this by the same teacher that taught me the golden lotus.
  20. If you don't read the paper you can't understand the context for why Ming is yang. I gave the other links since I am currently reading those. They all reinforce each other. A lot of people take what I call the "Mall Science" position on the internet which I jokingly call being a boy with your mom at the Mall and crying over and over that you are not getting what you want and so science is only when a product is presented that is already mass produced and therefore true. haha. Nope - willful ignorance is not the way to go on this stuff. To keep on topic though - The cavity of prenatal vitality is the pineal gland while the cavity of spirit is the heart but as Taoist Yoga says eternal nature as xing descends as yin energy - yin fire - why? Because it is still "Negative spirit" before the elixir is produced. So then when the Emptiness is focused on this causes the prenatal vitality or yuan qi to join up with the negative spirit to make the energy going out of the eyes to be yang as spirit-vitality. But the problem is any thought that is evil causes the prenatal vitality to run the wrong way - and this is the secret "yang" in the Ming that is normally wasted for reproductive. So you focus on the Emptiness to then store up that yang in the Ming. There is a "sea of chi" under the lower tan tien - but in actuality that is yin jing energy that is then triggered by the cavity of prenatal vitality in the brain to deconvert the sea of chi into fluid. So the secret is to the opposite - by focusing on the Emptiness then, as I said, the yuan qi of the pineal gland connects with the heart fire which then descends via the Emptiness to then ionize and sublimate the sea of chi - now turned into the "cavity of spirit-vitality" as the lower tan tin - no longer yin jing but now yang jing or yin chi energy. So then ideally you keep that up, build up the yin chi based on that secret of yang within it - as it is sublimated via the quick fire, deep fast breathing from standing active horse stance - then it goes up to the pineal gland where more yuan qi converts more of the yin jing into more yang qi and so that is how the cycle of energy builds up. So then when the lower tan tien is filled then you access the Tai Chi as the Cavity of Original Spirit. But that is still just the first half of the training - to "lay the foundation" - so that is still lunar shen energy - or yin shen energy. So then you have to do more small universe as immortal breathing with the yuan qi in one direction while the yang qi as yin shen in the other direction. That is what then creates the Ming as Yang - the golden seed or whatever in the lower tan tien. Of course I never got that close in practice so .... but I did get to the Tai Chi experience once.
  21. Philosophical Taoism

I tried a tin foil beard but it didnt stick, later it served well as a hat.
  22. Philosophical Taoism

Tin Foil Taoism, does that refer to the exquisite top knot cover i made this morning to keep the confucians out?
  23. Philosophical Taoism

We're sitting around and philosophising about Taoism on TTB. Sometimes. BTA , to me; would be 'religious' Taoism. Check it out here... http://www.taoists.co.uk/main_files/aboutus.htm Dr J ( for one example) maybe 'Alchemical' Taoism. TTB ( sometimes) ' Philosophical' Taoism and much else besides. Tin Foil for example.
  24. Transfer of Chi

I've met two people one from Bagua and one Wing Chun who claimed that's how they are tuned by thier teacher. Are you on face book also we might be grinds there as well, I'm friends with a lot of Sigung Tin's lineage.
  25. Tin Yat Taoism

Mak Tin Si did some fabulous posts specifically about Chinese New Year and practices to prepare for that. Tin Yat, I would love to hear your perspective for Ghost Month, Moon day or any other upcoming Taoist calendar events. Thank you
