I read the part on Damo Mitchell and just a couple of minor comments. I agree that visualisation is an important and useful technique but perhaps not with certain qi related practices so much. And in England at least it would be common to reduce a name like Damien to Damo ... so this doesn't actually necessarily have anything to do with the Bodhidharma.

This is pivotal, this is the true meaning of cultivation imo.

Yes. Is like the Dutch idiom, ‘je moet een gek altijd gelijk geven" (never argue with a fool).

Now everyone got a booklet (from the government) telling us how to survive the first 72 hours when e.g there’s a war here inside the Netherlands. I have already more than my fill of ‘fire breathing’ going on around here; no ‘horsey’ horses for me please, just a sweet horsie, thank you.

that last post speaks of a major sticking point for unique and particular beings that would like to stay that way eternally...thus not merge back into the ocean of Supreme Being.

I saw the title of this thread but didn't read because I have no problem viewing messages. Today then I click into this thread. Bad gateway! Like Schrodinger's cat. Anyhow, no problem now.

I ran into one of their guys on my history forum ; moderator announcement ; introducing ...... who is here to help with administration . Who then proceeded to outright lie about who he was and what his role was . he started to evade my questions until I point blank ' Did you buy this forum or not ! Answer honestly ! . And then he fluffed and eventually admitted he did and who actually bought it . backlash from members , outraged at being lied to . etc . It might not have been sold though , did Sean's name USED to be on that register before ? I ran into one

Speaking of going around and around in circles, wolves will do that in their enclosures if it designed with a long enough trotting path for them. Btw. it is somewhat surprising how tall, lean and lanky wolves can be !

The image should reflect the Wu Xing element at play: Fire. Horse is ruled by Fire hence it is a double Fire Year which will eventually create a strong Earth Year: 1968 ruled by the Monkey. 1969 is Yin year also ruled by strong Earth due to the influence of the 1967 Goat Year which is a blend of Earth & Fire. This is Taoism, a science. Confucianism is also at stake here: we follow the advice of wise masters who know what they are talking about due to their profound experience on the subject matter. Also Taoism and Confucianism is not about ME but what benefits the ENTIRE COMMUNITY. More about that here: https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/815b/a37e2cc6462f0dcce3d3068dbe25b909baf7.pdf Posting child-like images is beyond the scope of this forum as it is completely unrelated to the science of Taoism. So far all the Animals placed on the forum banner starting from 2016 (Fire Monkey) have somehow reflected the spirit of the Year, which in 2026 is FIRE. A couple of those Horses are good as well as the one I posted. Let the admin/mods people decide which one is going to be included in the forum banner.

I remember the polar bear they kept in the zoo in Central Park, New York, for many years. Poor thing was called Gus and known as the "bipolar bear" -- the enclosure was small, and there was a pool where he swam in circles obsessively, nonstop, for years. I felt so sorry for that bear. An unbelievably huge creature, just eye-popping -- and he was on the small side as polar bears go. Didn't react to anybody or anything, just going in circles in the water like a machine. One of the walls was transparent, some kind of tempered glass, and he pushed his paws against it when making a U-turn so you could see the underside of the paws -- black, and enormous. For some reason the sight of an incarcerated wild animal is something I can't handle. I will never visit a zoo again, but there's a few creatures I've seen in the past that I sincerely hope will, in a karmic reincarnation, swap places with those who incarcerated them. And then those who mindlessly enjoy the sight will be turned into whatever these animals eat.

Would it be technically possible to put the picture lower so that the horse's hind legs touch the ground? Make it more grounded, LOL

umm...there are many schools in Hinduism and they often contradict or disagree with each other on key or major points but going by Hinduism's general teaching they are supposed to respect one another. The "eternal" or "immortal" sayings or definitions about "soul" come up constantly in doctrine, yet there is the question of how did unique souls come to be? One could ask that if souls are also emanations from Supreme Being then how could they remain as unique and eternal existences that survive beyond the very long cosmic cycles? If one accepts that all emanations (and returns) take place in grand cosmic cycles, that have a beginning, middle and end, and which then repeat endlessly as cycles or lifetimes of Lord Brahma the creator along with the other aspects of Supreme Being, namely Lords Vishnu and Shiva, then souls can only be eternal or immortal in a manner of speaking or in comparison to short human lifetimes or very long lifetimes as soul-bodies. So if one follows that import then souls also return to the "ocean" of Supreme Being, thus comes the day when they are no longer unique or particular souls, not unlike how surface waves finally merge back into the ocean.
