yes but you act as if it is some cultural instituted problem and not the fact that we as humans can be quite weak, and sometimes lack the resolve to seek the good. Should one not feel guilt when they know they've done something that is a disservice to their higher ideals?

No, there is no benefit, only suffering. Be kind to yourself :-) <3

Compassion is the answer, not judgment.

Maddie is dropping pearls in this coversation and revealing high skill and insight.  Compassion over comparison.

It seems our socially reinforced, yet internally adopted mental/emotional models that apply pressure, guilt, shame and judgement of ourselves is far more impacting and damaging to jing, than any physical pressure/activities they target.

That which these models subsequently judge and then seek to punish ourselves for...  This Judge/Victim internal roleplay is perhaps the most prevalent and damaging Jing blockage egregore in modern culture I have experienced.

This has been reinforced time and again by both of my long term teachers over the last 14 years particularly, though more impacting is that it abides in my direct life experience.

acknowledge, accept, release.

acknowledge what is

accept it in awareness, that what is and was... is not what must or will continually arise.

release.

realease mental gymnastics:  assumption, judgement and projection and abide in presence.

rest in awareness.

You can have sex without ejaculating. It feels good and energy levels are higher afterwards in my experience.

Release sexual repression and suppression and be happy.

absolutely agree.

however the frocio here can't stop cumming!!!! oh well. at least you'll be welcome in the land of milk and honey. these others don't know a thing about cultivation obviously. They think they've out smarted every ascetic from most every religious tradition who takes the vow of celibacy. don't get me wrong, most of these traditions are empty husks now as well, but your ceiling is much higher if you're practicing abstinence and combining it with actual method.

i think their idea of enlightenment is being vaguely nice and injecting as much copium as possible so as to forgot about their lack of will and inability to temper desire.

they will arrive here in one fell swoop to psychoanalyze this again and tell me i'm projecting

hopefully by then @steve has already deleted my account and i don't have to read anything they have to say

Compassion is the answer, not judgment.

i know multiple terribly obese individuals who use this approach too.. sad to say it isn't working for them very well. Discernment is banned, it's not the goyslop 5000kcal a day diet that's the problem... it's the shame again.  Being skinny is literally fatphobic.

It's funny actually, one of my best friends girl friend has really blown up in the last year, and she talks this talk too. But she is the most passive aggressive and obviously fake about it after a drink or two when her ability to mask her real face starts to dwindle. she'll throw out backhanded compliments towards the other women in the group who are all in shape,  or a never ending monologue about how she wants to lose weight but has simultaneously never been more comfortable in her skin ( fatty cope, literally nobody believes it and pandering to this kind of self delusional and insecure monologue is "idiot compassion" a la Trungpa)

anyways, I guess  what I am trying to say is i obviously have a lot to learn from the both of you.

dear friend. the op was talking about masturbation. If it includes porn, not ejaculating coupled with weak kidneys is a recipe for disaster. That way you cannot flush away the intense arousal out of your system and it will follow you in to your daily life.

Why do you assume there is one method and path for every person.

Why do you think Wang LiPing has a wife and a son?

Embrace your path, but ceaselessly claiming there is one path for everyone to follow is not a good indicator in my experience.

There was a time when celibacy was beneficial on my path.

Not all methods and practices are necessary, or beneficial in all stages of life.

Rigidity is death.

Flexibility is life.

This is an important point. It’s not simply the ejaculation that causes you to lose jing, but the arousal too. Better to just enjoy it properly instead of being constantly aroused because you haven’t finished.

Why do you think Wang LiPing has a wife and a son?

excellent question. Who better to answer it than the maestro himself?!

Quote

When Wang Liping returned to the ordinary world in obedience to his teacher's directions,

he wanted to marry and have a family like ordinary people

1996 Thomas Cleary. Da Dao Xing (in Chinese)

now a question. who has ordinary people's wants? hint: not a taoist. but wait! could he be an ordinary man  with daring ambitions  to bootstrap himself out of abject poverty by riding the qigong craze tsunami of the 80ies? why yes Virginia, he could!

Quote

Sometimes Qigong energetics teachers would give classes nearby, and Master Wang would attend, paying the fees out of his meager salary .

Thats how Master Wang learned his trade. But why there is not a single mention of  jing in his first book? Simple: because jing (as a sexual term) was not a part the qigong craze repertoire. Such jing came into vogue in the 90ies, with the neidan craze. (well actually same qigong masquerading as neidan). Since then jing is all both the neidaneers and the qigongers chatter about, 30 years and still going strong. still hilarious.

 I guess the teacher, seeing no spiritual potential in WLP at all, sent him packing. :P

Wang Li Ping was born in 1949.  During his teenage and youth days, China's political environment was very much against Taoist and religion and climax in Cultural Revolution.   So it is natural to wonder where he got his teachings from.   His own teaching was controversial in China, according to Wiki.
