Exciting news folks!  Italy, has too many victims for it's hospitals, with a total of 10,149, and has gone to total lockdown, and Iran, racing ahead with a respectable 8,042, have left Korea, with only 7,785, in the dust.  In fact it looks like Korea is almost at a standstill and is thinking of dropping out of the race!

Smart money was on the US, which has 1,020, bypassing Spain by today, but in a surprise move, Spain, with 1,695, in one day has literally jumped way ahead of Germany, with 1,524, and is giving France, with 1,784, a run for its money.  This could be due to lack of testing in the US though.    Germany is still a strong contender in the race, it isn't out of the picture yet.

In a smart move, Poland, with only 22, has closed its borders and schools, and banned public gatherings, but the Catlicker Church is disobeying and still having mass, so they can pray for the sick.  Meanwhile, in the US, it's business as usual.

This is from the doctor in charge of Italy's attempt to control the epidemic.   Italy is having to turn away a lot of candidates for ICU due to maxing out their system:

The US is completely unprepared.  it is conservatively estimated the virus is 15 times more deadly than the flu, that there will be  96 million cases, 48 million hospitalizations, and over 480,000 deaths in the US within the next few months.

It is a sad situation

A military study found that those who get vaccinated against the flu will catch various pulmonary illnesses more often.  If you look at the chart you will see that those who are vaccinated are three times more likely to get coronavirus.  However, the WHO is advising people to get the flu shot to help with the epidemic.

507 is three times higher than 170, in the article they did the math wrong.

Congressional doctor reports that up to 150 million Americans will catch the virus.  With a mortality rate of 3.5% that is 5,250,000 deaths.      Congressional Report

Y'all need to chillllllllll the fuck out, ain't no 5 million Americans gonna die from this shit, if 5,000 die I promise I will buy your book.

China is a filthy, extremely densely populated, still-very-poor country with pretty terrible hospitals, almost no private clinics, and widespread awful sanitation habits. In the *medical school* I graduated from, which was a "211 Project Key University" near downtown in the nation's capital, every single shelf in the library stacks had a sign on it that said "please do not spit in the stacks." That that even needed to be said at all tells you what kind of habits prevail there!

Another example: *no* bathrooms on this entire medical school campus had soap. *Most* bathrooms in the hospitals we visited did not have soap in the bathrooms, including even in the in-patient wards... Again, this was the situation in "top" hospitals in Beijing less than three years ago! After some foreign students complained, they put soap in the intl college's lobby bathroom, but nowhere else--this is how public health problems get dealt with, lipstick on a pig.

Examples I could make like the above are endless. I hardly need to explain what passes for wiping off a restaurant table or doing dishes in your average restaurant, and of course there is communal sharing of spit with chopsticks at meals. Add to these realities all of the commie bureaucrat cover-ups in Wuhan and you get what we've seen there. To be honest nothing about how the epidemic unfolded surprised me. I wish I could say otherwise but the PRC is a shitshow and I've got close to no respect for how the CCP governs that nation.

Now, Trump is an idiot who has gutted many of the mechanisms of the state, sure, but America is simply nothing like the PRC. 5,000,000 Americans will become Daoist immortals or kill each other with guns while fighting over toilet paper at Costco before they die of covid, I'll put money on that.

I suspect you’re right about the 5,000,000 number but I do think you’ll be buying a book you don’t want to read!

Thanks for the info @Walker.  i was just sharing a doctor's congressional report.  In fact washing hands doesn't make so much difference, because the main avenue of transmission is via the air that asymptomatic people breath out and you breath in.  I knew this before it was officially reported.

I think maybe you wanted to say don't where that do is   :)

In any case, the book is full of bad news for people who think they can learn nei kung from a book or a video, and who wants bad news?  Not Walker.

When you have a highly energized crown point you know stuff without knowing how you know it, and is why Lao Tzu said that the sage can sit in his room and know what is going on in the world.

I'm no Nostradamus, but if China has 1.4 billion people and let's say 50,000 dead from covid (because I don't believe the official stats there I'm making an uneducated, unscientific liberal guestimate) having made all the blunders they did, I just don't see big numbers being likely in the US. Of course everybody should be careful when possible, but... Let's keep our feet on the ground here.

As for SJ's book, sure I'd read it, I think he's less full of bullshit than he thinks I think he is :D

There are things that indicate otherwise.  For example, being overweight is a high risk factor for snuffing it, just like diabetes, smoking, and being elderly are, and 45% of Americans, like Numb Nuts, are obese.  In any case, this following video has some information about How this thing was patented, and by who, and a simulation for this same virus was carried out in NY just before the epidemic started in China.

Be advised:  Some people might think this is all a conspiracy theory, some of the statements in the last half sound a wee bit far fetched..

China's situation has stabalised with the majority back at work. Hard work too, to get that money thing going again.

Those practicing qigong or taiji recovered faster than those purely on western medicine. You'll be alright, folks.

From what I am reading is that fearless leader Trump has been exposed multiple times by persons that have tested positive for COVID-19. That includes, White House staff, Pence, Jared and Ivanka.

If that's true then it will be interesting to see how it turns out.  We'll see if they might have a silver bullet available for the virus.  Penicillin was the silver bullet that knocked out a lot of bacterial infections.

A healthy immune system is quite capable of handling the Coronavirus, as long as you maintain it.   Do not do stupid stuff like inhaling anything foreign into your lungs or drinking immune suppressants.

Maintaining the immune system:

At the first signs of an upper respiratory tract infection (eg, sneezing, coughing, feeling unwell, mild fever), make an appointment with your doctor then take the following:

  1. Zinc Lozenges : Completely dissolve in mouth one lozenge containing 18.75 mg of zinc acetate every two waking hours. Do not exceed 8 lozenges daily, and do not use for more than three consecutive days.
  2. Garlic: Take 9,000‒18,000 mg of a high-allicin garlic supplement each day until symptoms subside. Take with food to minimize stomach irritation.
  3. Vitamin D: If you do not already maintain a blood level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D over 50 ng/mL, then take 50,000 IU of vitamin D the first day and continue for three more days and slowly reduce the dose to around 5,000 IU of vitamin D each day. If you already take around 5,000 IU of vitamin D every day, then you probably do not need to increase your intake.
  4. Cimetidine: Take 800‒1,200 mg a day in divided doses. Cimetidine is a heartburn drug that has potent immune enhancing properties. (It is sold in pharmacies over-the-counter.)
  5. Melatonin: 3‒50 mg at bedtime.

Do not delay implementing the above regimen. Once viruses that cause respiratory infections infect too many cells, they replicate out of control and strategies like zinc lozenges will not be effective. Treatment must be initiated as soon as symptoms manifest. Although this regimen has not been studied specifically in the context of COVID-19, there is little reason not to implement this strategy along with contacting a qualified healthcare provider as soon as possible after onset of upper respiratory tract infection symptoms.

Below are a few additional integrative interventions that have shown beneficial immune-enhancing effects in the context of viral upper respiratory tract infections.

  • Vitamin C. Several studies have shown that vitamin C supplementation, both before and soon after the onset of symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections, may help ease symptom burden and reduce the duration of illness (Gorton 1999; Hemilä 1999; Ran 2018). However, the available evidence does not consistently support the notion that preventive vitamin C supplementation can reduce the risk of acquiring upper respiratory tract infections (Hemilä 2013; Virilhon 2019). Importantly, studies to date have not focused specifically on coronavirus infections but on upper respiratory tract infections in general such as those caused by rhinoviruses, enteroviruses, and influenza viruses.
  •  Selenium. Selenium has important antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral activities in the body, and deficiency is associated with increased risk of viral infection (Wrobel 2016). In patients with HIV infection, poor selenium status is correlated with increased mortality, and supplementation has been reported to slow progression of immune dysfunction and reduce hospital admissions (Wrobel 2016; Muzembo 2019). Some researchers have proposed that lack of selenium in regional soils may have contributed to the SARS outbreak in 2003 (Harthill 2011).
  •  Probiotics. A growing body of evidence shows probiotic supplements with Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus species can enhance antiviral immune activity and may reduce the occurrence, severity, and duration of viral respiratory tract infections. (Lenoir-Wijnkoop 2019; Mousa 2017).
  •  Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a polyphenol from green tea. Because of its broad antiviral effects, EGCG has been proposed as a promising agent for preventing and treating viral infections such as SARS and MERS (Kaihatsu 2018; Hsu 2015).

I believe, it is very important to remember, that due caution strengthens the immune system.  Fear weakens it!

Good news china has dropped to 0.04 could be zero by the end of march. Wuhan was at 17.0  the rest of the country was 0.08 because hospitals were overwhelmed in Wuhan. The government made massive and costly measures to limit travel. Roads even closed to neighboring towns.

Wudang mountain is in Hubie Provence not so far from Wuhan with zero cases of corona virus. Studies of TCM and western pharmaceuticals took place. Less deaths with TCM than western medicine which also produced many side effects such as liver, heart lung and kidney failure and more deaths. There has been a great attempts to remove this knowledge by pharma groups and suppress the knowledge of the cures mother nature is capable of. TCM  treatment $100 western medicine $60,000 so we can see a major loss of income if this knowledge gets out.

The margin for pharmaceutical medicine is extreme, if it takes .50 to manufacture a pill that cost the consumers $20.00 each do the math they are killing it.Then hold hands with insurance companies and medical "professionals" you have a system that is generating more wealth for themselves than any other industry at the cost of your health.....Your welcome.

Hot spots now are in Iran, Italy and increasing in USA. If these countries are not proactive to contain the spread they are irresponsible IMO.

Took me twenty odd years to realize why i just couldn't manage to follow through on becoming a physician.

Then one day it crystallized.

Health care in America seems financially predatory to me.

They will treat you, but at maximum possible cash extraction.

Treating people is profitable.  Curing them is bad for long term business modeling.

Preventing illness?  Well that is just financial suicide...

When i met and started learning from Zhou Ting-Jue, he said (through translator).  You are not my patient.  You are student.  I do not treat you, I teach how to help your body heal itself and prevent illness.  Student... not patient.

invaluable what that man shared with me.

Medicine in the US is contrary to the Hippocratic Oath. My primary care physician here in Santa Fe never charged any more than 50.00 per visit. That was before he retired and I think my first visit was around 30.00 years ago. He is an avowed socialist and warned me not to fall victim to the medical machine. He lives in a modest house unlike the other docs here in town that live in a palace on the East side mountains.
