Hi everyone, i am a strong believer of master and Disciple relationship. Not only neidan even to learn normal things like l car driving, drawing, swimming etc you need teacher guidence. But @Taoist Texts says we don't need a teacher to learn neidan. So my question to Taoist texts. " Is it possible to learn neidan without a teacher" if yes tell the LDT meditation technique.

>Big fan of "Clarifying the Natural State". I did the translation of the book to spanish in case anyone is interested. at https://blogdetao.org >So, what is your practice background? Started some decades ago with zen but mostly by my own and friends, and switched to Essence Mahamudra which is mostly similar but more clear and without paradoxal language. But in the middle I studied Vedanta, the Thusness model, Dzogchen, etc... I'm semi-old... I've talked with John Tan and Soh from time to time. Very nice people. Best wishes.

Is a nondual realisation equivalent to a kundalini activation?
Bindi replied to idiot_stimpy's topic in General Discussion
Sure, we have to take the steps (though there are some exceptions to us having to do some things sometimes), but the importance of correct directions is paramount. I liked another thing Gopi Krishna said, something along the lines of there are immutable laws pertaining to the subtle energy body just as there are in physics, I do agree with this, and I fully believe that if we’re not given the right information about these immutable laws then we cannot be effective in the construction of the subtle energy system. Finding the right teacher or the right system is imperative, especially if we’re willing to do whatever is required of us. -

well we could also say that even though ego holds on it has in certain cases been indelibly impacted and seen as a passing construct, thus it can never regain the power it had once commandeered... -

that's a good analogy, and goes a very long ways in helping but in the end neither a teacher nor a system can take a certain step for us which only we can take... -
If you made that up, can you tell me what sherry you are drinking these days, please (I quite like it)?

I never found the suttas helpful in this regard. The abhidhamma texts are more relevant, but describes what you are trying to achieve rather than how to achieve it. There are "qigong " methods that, in an unsimplified form, access sensory processing in a very efficient way. Unfortunately, simplification is the rule.

All Shaolin is supposed to be chan-wu-yi, I only truly understand the tradition I am involved in though. The name of my practice will be of no help, as far as I can see no public teacher writes about this aspect, in a world where seminars are sold the buddhist aspects of the art have no market value.

Interesting, and completely authentic experience IMO. -

In my experience there can be enough preparation when the right directions are followed, either via dreams or a seer. You know the water system referred to in neidan, I have found that when that water system is set up correctly, kundalini can be likened to a nuclear reactor rod that is kept perfectly cool in water. Without the constant supply of cooling water there can only be intolerable shock. -
Maybe we're well on our way to becoming boring 😌 I just stopped at whole foods on the way back from work. Didn't even get one funny look. Come on guys you got to give a girl a little bit of excitement lol

Hello all! I'm Abby, 5o y/o female. I'm a long-time lurker here, but only decided to post now. While I mostly consider myself a Sri Vidya/Non-dual tantrik Shaivism practitioner, I have had empowerments for and performed Vajrayana sadhanas. That said, my interest in Daoism is what originally led me here. I've had a meditation practice for 9 years now, and have been an MA practitioner for almost 40 years. I consider myself a Devi-Bhakta, a practical mystic, and an all-around witchy-woman

On the bright side, Maddie started a thread about transgender issues and the most controversial subject to come up today is Lord Byron.
-
That would be acceptable.
-
how about this: next time i'm at one of the local used bookstores i'll check for a byron, just for you
-
oh ok … but your bookcase is otherwise impressive. So thank you.
-
I don't have one! (This contributes to my having no opinion)
-
Well! Where’s your copy of Childe Harold?
-
I don't have any opinions on Lord Byron!
-
What exactly have you got against Lord Byron?

No growth of moor or coppice, No heather-flower or vine, But bloomless buds of poppies, Green grapes of Proserpine, Pale beds of blowing rushes Where no leaf blooms or blushes Save this whereout she crushes For dead men deadly wine.
