America is a vast patchwork of different cultures. We´re obscenely rich and heartbreakingly poor; rural gun-toting Texans and progressive rainbow flag-waving denizens of West Hollywood; black and brown and white like hulled rice. I can´t help but think, despite all the problems and fighting, that there´s something beautiful about the messy mix of it all. Happy 4th!

Nope - we just sit and think about the rest of the world which we conquered. 😂😂😂

If I disagreed with you, would I be allowed to say so? In the US I am not permitted to loot your businesses, graffiti your garden walls or spit on your security guards, no matter how strong my feelings, but I can still say my piece. In this respect, the constitution still stands. But this post of mine, like yours before me, is current event talk, and the rules of this forum are stricter than the rules of the street. I am willing to stop. Are you?

There's a difference between information/data and knowledge. I think knowledge implies an understanding. There is definitely an enormous increase in data, and it leaps into applications before reasonable knowledge of that data is understood. There is a race to push the data in the name of corporate profits. IMO caution was thrown to the wind too often.

No treason. The Old World is not a lizard that can lose its tail so that the independent tail becomes the New World. Rather, it's a snake -- which occasionally plays ouroboros with itself. At least that's one way to look at it.

Do Brits shoot off fireworks, grill out, brink Budweiser, listen to American music all day today? I almost got a little emotional this morning, dashing around this small town in the center of America. Everyone here is so thoughtful, caring, polite, to each other everyday, just as they are today

Nungali is right, this is a psychological problem, NOT a spiritual attainment of any kind. What you are saying does not go with any spiritual tradition any of us have heard of and there is a LOT of expertise here. There is no better idea about what to do, or better option than to seek medical and psychological aid. Please seek help. I am locking this thread.

My life has not been too short to observe a decline in society and technology . get real ..... yeah we got a lot of fancy tech .... but most of its plastic crap that if it breaks you throw it away and get another one ! So is that better or advanced ? ... but but .... we didn't have 'gaming' before or Facebook ! 40 years back ... I break something important I need . I pull it apart and find the culprit .. take it to town and show the blacksmith ... "Yeah, I can make you one of those ... if you want to stick around I will do it now for you . " I got a page full of examples if you are too young to realize how good it used to be . .

Thanks for your point of view. Not to say that acid reflux isn't a pain in the a** but it's easier to manage with medication and qigong can help as well. In my case, qigong won't reshape my skull and jaw, I'm afraid... I prefer to go the way presented on the website: not using it as a bandage to hide the fact that my body isn't in a proper shape right now. Better to go back to a basic meditation practice that will help me find some calm in those late news and don't ask the impossible from a practice and risk going resentful on it. Plus, I've been practicing DVD1 and 2 for quite some time everyday now, at least 45 minutes and, unlike you, I don't feel any significant difference... So, I think it's a reasonable reason to say that FPCK isn't working for me right now. Not saying that it doesn't work at all! Just like I wrote earlier that I just have to be realistic on what it can achieve.

I may be bad at economy so it's a bit hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that to celebrate winning a war over 2% tax on tea, we pay a 7.75% sales tax on anything we might want to use for the celebration. Not to mention the rest of taxes on... um... on being alive -- also on being dead, since the 7.75% sales tax applies to coffins too.

Ya know that statue would not have been 'there' 'then' However it does give a great example of what you are claiming : AI Overview Yes, the Statue of Liberty has required and continues to require repairs due to various forms of deterioration. Specifically, the copper skin, iron armature, and the torch have been areas of concern. Additionally, the terreplein (the plaza at the base of the statue) needs repairs due to crumbling pavers and potential water damage. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Copper Skin: The copper skin, while largely intact, has suffered from corrosion and requires protective coatings. Iron Armature: The iron structure supporting the copper skin has rusted and weakened, necessitating replacement with materials like copper-nickel alloy or stainless steel. Torch: The torch has been particularly vulnerable to damage from acid rain and pollution, leading to its replacement. Terreplein: The plaza at the base of the statue has deteriorated, causing tripping hazards and allowing water to leak inside, impacting the interior infrastructure. Other Issues: The statue also faces challenges from fatigue of the steel skeleton, decay of fasteners, and the effects of acid rain and salty air.

That’s not exactly what I see as being ‘one with the Dao’. You’re probably just kidding with us (with all of your posts). I’m going to save my “Sanity” by putting you on ignore.

thanks bro, any funny reason why you was banned there and you want to share with us? I was banned there because I made a post about women attraction LOL hahahha I feel like the second Drew talking about these subjects, but without the "O's at a D" I just find it a very interesting topic to research and try to understand why this happens, it's also nice to have other people's point of view and testimonials about this kind of stuff

The question, what does FPCK do for you, is something I'm currently thinking about, as I've recently re-taken up the practice after having a brake for about 6 months, and it's given me the opportunity to compare it to other things. I injured a core muscle down my side playing badminton just before Christmas, and this prevented me from doing a number of FPCK meditations, so I decided to try some other things out instead. I did some simple sitting and following the breath. Did a bit of 30 mins of ZZ. And signed up for a 12 week online course of Tai Chi led by one of Lam Kam Chuens' son covering his simple short form, which consists of 'grasp the peignoir by the tail' and ' the single whip'. It was nice to have a change in practice after having done FPCK for about 3 years, but I was happy to return to it after my injury had fully recovered and I'd finished the Tai Chi lessons. So what do I find the benefits of FPCK to be, especially after having had 6 months off it? The first part of the answer is what effect does it have on the body. In this regard, I reckon it's kind of similar to other internal martial arts. When I give this answer to other people, I first compare it to more western kinds of exercise, such as weight lifting, cardio-vascular exercises like running, or stretching practices like yoga. I say that in all these regards it is does not give me a great deal of strength, when I run about on a play 5-a-side football pitch, I'm out of breath in 5 minutes, and I'm no where near being able to touch my toes. However, due to the way the practice engages your posterial muscles, when I go to play tennis or badminton, despite being in my late forties, I'm easily as fast around the court as people in their twenties, and this is combined with fast reactions and a good level of co-ordination. As I said, this will certainly be true of other internal martial arts, but it's a nice consequence of FPCK. And a mildly interesting one as I often try to move a slowly as I can during the moving meditations, but the consequence is that it actually gives me good speed over a short distance. Is this any better for you than having a good weightlifting regime, good cardio-vascular fitness or good flexibility? (although my flexibility is actually fairly good from this kind of thing, I just happen to have very long legs compared to my body and a slipped disc that prevents me from bending a lot) I don't know, but its something that for me engages my mind, and so I stay motivated to keep doing it. Also, one of the benefits of this kind of thing is that it keeps you relatively injury free. How about benefits that are more specific to FPCK? This one is a bit tricker to answer because the benefits you get from this kind of chi kung is of course similar to other types of chi kung. One simple answer here is that when doing a simple static seated meditation, the activation of the FPCK energy at the beginning of the meditation, which is achieved by performing a simple breathing pattern, means that the time always goes faster than I expect. If I just follow the breath with out performing a FPCK breathing pattern, sometimes a 30 minute sit goes quickly, sometimes it does not. But with the breathing pattern, every time it feels like only 20 minutes have passed, when its actually 30. And this extends to all the FPCK meditations. This isn't exactly a massive selling point to the practice, but is something that stands out. Coupled to this is that the energy generated is always pleasant and enjoyable. Again, something that I have found to be more of a variable thing in other practices. I'd also like to say that you can enter into some quite deep levels of mind/body integration, but I'm running out of energy writing this post right now, so that is all I'll say here. I may add more on this aspect later. Anyway, its a practice I keep coming back to and enjoy. It's also nice having this thread to turn to for support, inspiration and advice. So thank you Sifu Terry

different forms of human knowledge have been increasing at breakneck speed but the wisdom to use it well has in many cases decreased! And like a house of cards things will fall apart (an understatement) the further we get away from dharma...

It didn't really do anything for me too. I noticed a bit of a mellow feeling during forms, but nothing really carrying over into daily life. If anything, I found myself becoming a bit more irritable. Some former members here were quite enthusiastic to point to earlier comments on how this system doesn't work for 'evil people'. With the implication being that I was an evil person. I wouldn't see myself like that personally, but who knows.

The strongest being is not the one who wins the fight, the tournament, the battle, the war, it is the one who "survives" death, the one who lived hundreds, thousands of years ago, and can still operate in this world without losing oneself.

As far as I know it was closed/deleted and not coming back. You see managing and moderating a community is a responsibility and a work that takes time and effort. Apart from paying for hosting and development. You would have to make decisions, arbitrate conflicts, interview new members, and so on, and so forth. I think most living esoteric communities are closed circles that are paid for by its members tightly knot around a specific ideology or a particular teaching have a authority/respected figure that sets the rules and principles When you have divisive opinions and conflicting views, such places and groups would fall apart.

" My hovercraft is full of eels ." PNG Pidgin is weird in that it developed from Aussie English , things like ; their word for themselves was 'boi' ( white fellas ; " Boy ! get my bag . Boy ! carry this box ." etc ) and , not being rude or politically incorrect at all ( I think political correctness is not a thing at all in PNG ) as its just words' ; That man broke something ( or did a process badly ) - Dispella buggerimup ( that fellow buggered it up ) And for someone that has a habit of doing that - Dispella , ime fuckimarse ( that fellow he is ......... 'constantly buggering things up ' ) here is my classic one .... I have put it up before , but it belongs here . I had been 'in camp' for about a week and a half ( with the Bundjulung blackfellahs ) , they maintain their language well and it is constantly spoken. Often at times in an English convo their will break into Bundjaung , sometimes it seems without realizing it . I am having a dispute with one of them , he is saying something exists or something is true and I don't believe him . Its a modern thing and it sounds like crap to me . Me ; " Nah ... doesn't sound true to me , I don't believe it ." Him : " Why you don't believe it ? I believe it its true ! You ..... you ! I don't have time for you .... ugogooglebro ! learned dos 3.2 on an a 8086 machine that was made in 1984 that had 640k of ram which was powerful back in the day. Btw, most of the old monitors were very hard on the eyes! I hot rodded that machine with dos 5, UMB and EMS cards and far better VGA video ! Also added a sound card but it quit on me. Heck it even had a 14k modem for trying out the early WWW bulletin boards. Alas I finally sold that baby for a good price, btw I built and kept a super socket 7 machine that can multi boot to run dos 6.2, windows 3.11 or windows 98. I really got a kick out of tinkering with memory management (via the autoexec and config files along with extra utilities and complex batch files, LOL) on those old machines for best performance; which is not unlike how I once got a kick out of tinkering with and fine tuning carburetor's, cams and intake manifolds on old cars but not so much anymore for the old boy... ;-)

Yang taiji Quan, the older lineages through Wang Yong Quan. Yi Quan also emphasizes in natural breathing in their system. So using yin of gravity, by tuning to it, you refine yin energy, and by refinement of yin, you in turn refine pure yang as a result as well due to the duality relationship of yin and yang. The initial stages, this is done with the body. Flesh sinks to tune to yin, and bones rise/ joints expand in "relation" to the sinking flesh. Fascia stretches maintains a dynamic tensegrity that allows qi to flow continuously. And as these energies become more purified, they become discerned from each other. When they are discerned, that separation reveals that "space" between their relationship. That specific empty space that is created this way, is where qi flows. Using the breath is fine, but it has to be from the basis of this principle. The breath can be trained to have either yin or yang in the in our our breath. You can do some research on things like reverse breathing, and the golden turtle Qi gong exercise. These are some of the rare cases we include breath to assist in opening up certain parts, and condensing Qi.

/\ We have a whole series of jokes based on interpreting what one hears in a "lik lik" known language. Goes both ways, by the way -- e.g. we use "bread of sieve cable" to mean "bred sivoy kobyly" -- an idiom meaning "delirious bullshit," literally "the ravings of a grey mare." The latest example from my just-concluded trip to Greece. Me and my friends were sipping espressos in a cafe in Corfu Town, and at the next table some young Greek guys were having a very lively conversation. In the course of which one of them jumped to his feet and exclaimed, with great feeling and energy, what sounded like "Shabliaka ty moliaka!" to my ear. Now I don't know about other people's ears but to mine it was simply delightful. In Russian it could have been a yet unknown curse, but also words of endearment, or a nickname for a friend, or a dire warning -- watch out, I'm about to kick your ass! Could be anything but due to the manner of delivery I was convinced it wasn't something boring. So later I tried to pick AI's brain to decipher it. What Greek expression, in a context I described to it, could it have been, and what could it mean? After a brainstorming session we zeroed in on "Ti blaxia, ti malakia" -- which is the Greek for "what nonsense, what stupidity!" Perfect. I still haven't decided which version I like better, the real one or the misheard one, but I'm tempted to start using one of them, or maybe both.

This is a classic psychological symptom indicating disassociation . So you need to work on integration . Its an important 'spiritual psychological ' principle ... many people with a 'disruption' have experienced this 'disassociation ' (one part of you works independently , or not well, or subversively against the whole of or parts of the psyche . Anything that offers negative experience indicates a part of the lower nature . You need to invoke the aspects of the super conscious which can dispel, reintegrate and offer good and healthy advice and suggestions . It could also be a way of your unconscious telling you to pay attention to your glucose levels , nothing to be terrified about . I suggest you follow Cob's recommendation ... gardening is good for these conditions . if it doesn't resolve from that , get back to us .

It's perfectly fine to do it the English way -- i.e. drop statements about the weather. SeVOdnya ZHARko -- it's hot today. KhoROshaya poGOda -- the weather is nice. BUdet dozhd' -- it's going to rain. Or you could get curious (the American way): OtKUda vy? -- Where are you from? Iz kaKOvo GOroda? -- From what city? Vam zdes' NRAvitsya? -- Do you like it here? Actually, if you give me a sample list of things you would say to a neighbor who does speak the language, I can try to come up with a Russian situational equivalent.

However, the Dalai Lama defies China to say successor will be chosen by Tibetan tradition. " "The Dalai Lama has declared in a direct challenge to China that the centuries-old spiritual institution bearing his name will continue after his death and that only his inner circle, not Beijing, will have the authority to identify his successor. ...ahead of his 90th birthday, the 14th Dalai Lama said the Gaden Phodrang Trust, which manages his affairs, would oversee the search for his reincarnation. “No one else has any such authority to interfere in this matter,” he said in Dharamshala, the northern Indian hill town that serves as the seat of the Tibetan government in exile. “In accordance with past tradition, the search for my reincarnation and the naming of a 15th Dalai Lama will be carried out.” Also: "The new Dalai Lama will be born in the free world.” source

Correct. The speed of doing the breathing formulas can be slower that demonstrations on the DVD series. But breathing must be totally relaxed and diaphraagmatic, natal breathing. And silent One should not hear air moving through your passages. Also, the first 3 priming breathes should be full breaths--as long as you can do comfortably and silently. I explained in the first year of the thread that these 3 breathes set the 100% scale that you then use to do the following various percentage exhalations of each meditation's formula. You have observed a decline? Human population 1950 - 2.5 billion people 2025 - 8 billion people Over the last 75 years the world has become more polluted, crowded and unbalanced. The quality and nutritional value of food has declined. There are negatives which give an impression of society diminishing. But there was a time when I realized suddenly my 7 year old nephew had a rough idea what bitcoin and dogecoin was in addition to knowing who Andrew Tate was. As well as other things I would never expect 7 year olds to know. Thinking back to where I was at 7 years of age. Youth of today have an opportunity to leap frog me in so many ways. There are a lot of smart and talented people everywhere doing things you'd never expect. Prior to COVID we had the highest number of newly made millionaires / billionaires in history. Homicide and murder rates were at all time historical lows. There were indications we were doing well in terms of some statistics.
