Harm and Heal

Hate and Hope

The cosmic joke. H-H.

For Elliot, Forever Ago

Dear Precious Elliot,

Greetings from the future.

I am here to inform you

All of your wildest dreams come true

And none of it goes how you expected

Or even wanted

While this might be a startling state of affairs,

Which it is

Fret not

The human condition is quite an adaptable one

As well as evolutionary

And even if the caterpillar once thought

All it ever wanted to be was a beautiful caterpillar 🐛

Resistance and despair be damned

If you didnt turn into a butterfly 🦋

So keep an open mind as you let the cocoon

You spent 8 years in loosen it’s walls and grip

And don’t damage your wings

Because you think they aren’t the ones you purchased.

TL;RA (too long, read anyway)

Your user name prompted me to write a kōan:

Imagine the peaceful chaos we could have in the world.

As for your poem... The concept of reaching a state where all wishes are fulfilled but only the wishes from there and none from before is meditation material, too.
And lately my consciousness has been exploring the theme of the poem more intensely. One mantra (potentially another
kōan) that emerged that seems so simple/primitive but also wields a lot of power:
You are not the same person you were in the past, so the past's pain doesn't belong to you.

G.N.P.S. (grammar nazi post scriptum): It's its, not it's.

(Not to be confused with German Nazi post scriptum where it would say "It'z itz, not it'z.")

Whatever we can see, taste, feel, smell and hear...

is only within, not out there.

obsessive compulsions seek outward,

let go and dive inward.

And then, falling inward, so many things arise...

not to latch on to them is the exercise.

until the "letting go" happens with ease...

sweet freedom, sweet release.

I wondered lonely and out loud,

Up where the daffodils had growed,

If yellow flowers and whatnot,

Were just the best that God had got.

Or if in heavenly gardens there were there,

Much better plants than we have here.

?

@Apech I have often wondered throughout my years of weary wandering, "is this it?" The answer luckily always seems to be "No", but I wish I could hear that answer more often.

Gabriel :  God wants you to.

Mary : #metoo.

Gabriel : God’s mother he’ll make you.

Mary : My body and my choice too.

Gabriel : Ingénou.

Mary : Virginity.

Gabriel : Divinity.

Mary : Sovereignty.

Gabriel : Humility.

Mary : Dignity.

Gabriel : Pretty please?

Mary : On your knees.

Gabriel : Then you’ll agree?

Mary : Maybe.

Gabriel: Such a tease!

Drop a pill and take a trip

into the fourth dimension

tie your penis to a weight

and calculate the tension.

Rock stars , limousine cars

and promise not to mention

all the secrets that you know

about alien intervention .

Illuminati, bad salami

salmonella poison

insane pain inside your brain

with mindless revolution.

On Rajneesh, Maharaji,

and New Age toss I puke

While Trumpsters and anti vaccers

seize control of nukes

Roll it all into a ball

just dump them in the sea

float it out some where

to other places

that are not close to me .

Coming back

always coming back

Where and when did we leave

At the moment of reckoning

of now

Who noticed

That one knows where

To look but not

to find

is to

be

Feels like...

A brush against my side

Sounds like...

The tip of my tongue

Seems like...

A passing glance

What is it?

Is it?

Never learned how to do poetry

English isn't my mother tongue

I prefer to read only, you see

So this one won't be long.

Shall I compare thee to a summers day?

Or perhaps a winter's shower,

Because sometimes you can seem quite gay,

And other times quite dour.

Reminds me of that story about alternating good and bad luck in a matter and the master's indifference to them.

Also hints at the value of the marriage oath - in good as in bad times - which also touches on the saying: "If you cannot handle my worst, you don't deserve my best."

The edge of space

Should set the pace

So make your haste

Or the dirt you'll taste

Some want might

To endlessly fight

Thats full of shite

I say with spite

Some need orders

And turn into fodder

Poor poor I say

They've lost their way

No need to be silly

Live life a bit simply

Don't tire youself out

Needlessly mucking about

Just empty your head

And lie on your bed

Then maybe you'll see

That you can be quite free

Suffering and hope

In the midst of crisis

There was paralysis

In the midst of paralysis

All one can do is pray

And never relinquish “hope”

In the face of disappointment

All one can do is let go

When does not know how to let go

All one can do is surrender

When one’s refuges are exhausted

One turns to the clouds

But the rain comes in it’s own time

And all we can do is pray to maintain patience

And not collapse

And even no-refuge can become a refuge... from facing the need to find refuge.

Also once again...

Also...

The root houses confidence.

The crown houses hope.

When both are empowered,

they meet in the heart and build...

faith.

If you try to make this rhyme, you're a dope.

Laozi Chapter 20 in 2020

Your thinking, my dear, is noble and clear,

alert are your eyes, overfloweth your cup.

While I am befuddled, I'm horribly muddled --

for this, I am subject to straightening up.

Your mind is made up, sir, you've read your newspaper

and watched your TV so you know what is true.

You'd get indigestion from all of those questions

I ask of the things that are clear to you.
