What happened to the Matriarchal Cultures

Recommended Posts

meh, too long of a discussion.  too nuanced to boil down simply, like most other things.  human history is rife with might makes right, the victors writing the taught versions of history, one man's god is another man's demon....maybe the bronto head sticks high enough up into the air so as to be above that field of weeds.

Wandering back towards the OP, if possible...

One suspicion is that some people don't entertain the idea of matriarchal cultures because they imagine that it is it a flipped patriarchal culture; simply with women on top. Not that this doesn't have some advantages, but as a culturally well conditioned male the attraction of being reduced in the social order is limited.

I think that the actual archaic cultures had dimensions of status and respect that are simply absent (or ignored) nowadays. To return one doesn't just put women in charge (our premier is lovely, but she can only do so much....) - one has to value actions by more than aggression and dominance. One would think that the non-martial Daoists would at least entertain the idea - but maybe not

some links for those are interested,

would that fighting would end, but if there's need to fight, both women and men seem to be equipped for that, both in history and right now.

yoou'd better beware of women, they're decidedly  not the harmless children some males seem to think they are.

and some are absolute heroes in my book .   These 'girls'  vowed to  protect village women and children against  IS advancing   rapists and murderers of men ,  when they sign up,  that means 'for life' ;

no need.  I found it kind of odd that some would talk about women being better warriors then men,,,just wondered who they fought against for their group to reach the conclusions stated.

Better ?

More 'effective' perhaps  Regarding YPJ against IS .   Thats the who (in this case ) ... the why  ?   ;

Because with IS fundamentalist religious belief ; you kill, murder bomb your enemy (even the innocents ) you get a place in heaven and everlasting bliss ... unless you get killed by a woman fighter, that is shame and hell, forever, so not worth the risk, better to run away .

Whoa, what has just happened?  I wrote the post of the century and just when I was about to hit the "submit" button, the page just went ahead and flipped to the "Talk Trump" thread???  and my post disappeared without a trace!!

I shudder thinking of the size of the toe I must have inadvertently stepped on with that one...

What you describe did happen to me before, so I know better by now --  but this time it was different.  I just went to a different tab for a moment, to google something up, go back and the page jumps to another thread and poof goes my post in this one.

I have had mysterious no-way-you're-posting-this-Jose episodes on occasion, almost invariably with posts that I would later be likely to have doubts about making public myself...  do I really want to expose what I really think/know to whoever might read this?..  But this one was...  I mean, it would take the kind of AI (or whoever/whatever ate the post) that can put two and two together, something rare even among humans these days, to perceive it as a cognitive weapon it was.  Kudos, AI.  Or whatever you were.  :D

The point WW was referencing in the last page replying to joeblast is my university class in Southeast Asian history which had scholar Geoffrey Robinson who is also a human rights activist. He also raises a very good point that Southeast Asia as a regional whole has had more female leaders than the West in the 20th century but that’s an entirely different point and doesn’t account for elements of nepotism and cronyism.

The Philippines has more female leaders and business leaders in general, but by and large a very patriarchal mindset still, which is often attributed to the Catholic Church. Interestingly enough, it’s a society that has more male infidelity than average globally, a study I believe came from the Ateneo de Manila University. When I find the study I will post if anyone is interested but I am not certain it’s relevant here.

thankfully, I've never taken part in that data mining operation

I've missed out on some laughs because of it, but that's okay, still plenty of humor around these parts :D

 not if it never made it out of her app cache!  those data splitters are at the major ISP hubs, so the traffic has to hit there before its vacuumed up as a matter of SOP...

unless, they happened to be looking, at that moment...in which case, every process thread on the device is wide open for their examination!

thanks, intel no such agency, for stuxnetting the world!

lol, sorry!  :)

technically, there's no such thing as a "remote file" - if you view it, you download a copy to your computer.  (the application's "cache" that it grabs things like images for web pages from)

since the text input system here remembers what you type (sometimes)...there's a little bit o cache for that, too - but that wont necessarily traverse the wire and go off into internet-land, until the "submit reply" button is hit.

I of course dont know all of the precise details (like the terms of their contract with the feds lol,) but what I do know is that at all the major hubs for the big Internet Service Providers - they route all the internet traffic together - there's a nifty box that creates a duplicate of every bit of traffic, one set goes to its intended destination, the other they put in their back pocket.  this goes for the cel companies, too.

"looking at the moment"...well, part of the microprocessor hacks that were revealed recently, basically makes all of the computer's encryption keys available to anyone with the NSA's secret set of tools, and the vast majority of devices can be walked right into as easily as its everyday user.  (iphones included, for people who remember san bernadino)  (and as a matter of fact, with those encryption keys "it is that user," far as any application interfaces can tell.)

stuxnet was the reference that all of these hacks are done at the same point - as part of the manufacturing process - as part of the design process.

I wonder how New Zealand's young democratic female leader will do.

Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern identifies herself as a Socialist and a Progressive.

We should look upon her as a sort of female Justin Trudeau and give serious thought as to which of the two is the most feminine.

Ardern will pursue a Cultural Marxist agenda in New Zealand promoting diversity and equality, we may expect things to begin going down hill at a steady rate but should remember that it will not be her fault but will be the fault of white males who still hold power everywhere.

Here she is pictured with he beta male partner Clarke Gayford. The couple have a cat.

Is it the fact that they are "white" or male that's the  problem

In china the males tend to hold power, but they are not considered white,

is that a problem.

I am not the person to ask as I do not have a problem with white males. There are however a lot of people who do and perhaps some of them will see fit to reply to your query.

You didnt post this?   You drew attention to the the fact that they are "white"   I can understand the "male" part considering the thread,,does being "white" make a difference ?

I do agree that if or when things go down hill, the tendency if she as a leader is not strong others will be blamed.  With countries like Germany for example their leader who happens to be a woman is quite strong and is held accountable for her actions....

"White Male" is used as a term of abuse by feminists, Cultural Marxists and their ilk. The inference being that white males have all the power in the world and are very much the oppressor towards the female and other races.

This is simply taken by them as "fact" and is not a matter for  argument or debate.

I find it difficult to believe that you are not already aware of this and suspect that you are simply poking the snake with a stick but it matters not.

Actually no, I was not aware of that,,,thank you for making it so.

I do agree with your other points only found the "white" male point a little odd,,,Now I get it.

thanks ;)

Those who use this inference should get out a little more they might find that "males" by most cultures are usually in leadership positions.  Other races,,, wow,,,,they really need to get out more.

Males in china 'think' they hold power... I know they do but tell that to the wife and see what happens :P

In the US, 'white privilege' may be a close, equivalent phrase...  which is then genderless, and I get it... but maybe not exactly your point... which I think is more to the point in some ways.
