What are you listening to?

Recommended Posts

It sounded like an earlier one to me only because it doesn't have auto-tune applied and I notice the mistakes Dylan made-- a voice crack here and there. But I'm not sure, you may be right there.

Oh man, I love Leonard Cohen. Hallelujah is my favorite of his.

I have all of Leonard's early albums. There are so many 'favorite' songs from him but I must mention "Please Don't Pass Me By".

Listening to Spooky Tooth right now.

Yes. Totally agree. So very much better. Now the only suggestion I have is that the guys keep their mouths shut and they get a couple females to do the vocalization.

Actually, that work reminded me of something from long ago. Let me see if there is a Youtube of them: Pause ...

Yes!

That reminded me of the Spike Jones Band of many years ago.

This afternoon I am listening to some Cajun/Zydeco music.

Haha, listen to this one by them I just discorver it. It's hilarious. If I ever get a cell phone I want this song as my ringtone.

Hehehe. Well, you can't say that that was just more of the same ole stuff.

I am listening to this style of music this morning:

It is called "Rai" and if you are interested Wiki has a nice description of it here:

Haha, pretty awesome. I like the beginning mostly.

Hehehe. Well, at least you didn't say you liked the end best.

Here is a staple among my aural pleasures.

His band, The Deli Creeps-

Obviously his image is not meant to be taken seriously. He was born in a coop and raised in a cage, heh.(aka Brian Carrol) Buckethead had his own monthly column in guitar player magazine at the age of 16. I have been listening to Buckethead, Praxis, Deli Creeps, Death Cube K, for eighteen years and he still has a great sound.

This guy can play, whats in a name anyway? lol

Now, Paul... U

Yes, great guitar work.

At first Paul reminded me of Robin Trower but the I changed my mind and decided he sounds a little like John McLaughlin of Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Great comparision!

I can identify with your taste, marblehead. I am not a big listener of Trower, but I do happen to own Birds of Fire, great album.

Hi Steve,

The first one is too sad for me. I like the second one.

I'm way back in time this morning. Listening to these guys:

Sorry to bum you out!

You're way back on memory lane!

Here's one of my all time favorites from Inti Illimani - it's also a little sad but in more of a wabi sabi sort of way.

The lyrics go something like:

Take pity on my complaining

Take pity on my complaining

If you have ever loved me

And show me how to be happy

Because unhappy, was I born

Here's another beautiful song performed by Inti Illimani

The lyrics are in Quechua, it's a traditional song from a town in Chile called Cariquima
