What are you listening to?

Recommended Posts

Yes, a great group.

Sad how the group just faded out of popularity after Robin left when he wasn't that much of an influence with the group. Maybe it was just their time.

I have the studio recordings of those first four albums.

Don't have the Stevie & Eric thing.

I'm listening to a mix of Cajun and Zydeco music this morning. Right now a mix of Dewey Balfa (Cajun) and Boozoo Chavis (Zydeco).

Even though she was just strumming you don't see many women playing banjo.

I saw Allison once but was disappointed. She was only half there and her entire performance was mechanical.

I have seen Rhonda and was very impressed.

Here's a great fiddle player for you:

I don't have much of Johnny's music. A few songs - not even an album. But I do admire what he did.

I'm listening to Soul music from the 1960's this evening.

Yeah. That's some nice modern Latino music.

I have Robert Johnson on right now.

I studied on Robert in my 20's. Got to meet John Hammond Jr. in 2004 in Phoenix and discussed Robert.

Btw... my Freshman English composition final was on Robert, Ry Cooder stated in an interview..."He's english" !

I don't have any of that type of music in my collection. I used to listen to it on one of the internet stations a few years ago. Haven't done that recently.

Right now I am still with my DooWop music. The Meadowlarks just finished performing. Is there a youtube sample?

Yes!

I have only two of Joe's LP's but I enjoy most of his music. Last I heard he is still performing.

Listening on vinyl just like the old days.

Actually, I don't put them on the platter much any more. I recorded all of them into the computer and that is where I listen to them most of the time. I have taken good care of the records and the sleeves so some of them would probably rank high on a collector's list.
