Magus of Java Teachings Revealed

Recommended Posts

Mjjbecker,

Your obviously a serious student training with a real teacher in China, thats awesome. Its amazing you have been able to find such an opportunity, and I appreciate all your advice, I just wish you could be a little nicer sometimes dispensing it. I think most people here would agree with that.

I would love to have the money and opportunity to find a master at Chang's level in China. But how exactly does one pull that off? Search every holy mountain in China for hermits?, ask all the top priests at the taoist temples? I mean assuming a person were to go to china where would they even begin to look for a teacher at Chang's level? How much time would be required to accomplish such a task?. how much money? I don't like the idea of traveling somewhere without a set destination trying to find someone and not even knowing who they are. That task just sounds too outrageous especially in a country with as many people as China.

Maybe your bound by oath not to reveal your teacher/lineage or maybe your just protecting him/her from an onslaught of seekers.

However, If he/she is on Chang's level and is still accepting students I think your doing a disservice to the community by hiding them away.

Maybe one day I will travel to train with Wang Li-Ping, maybe I will go to Java and seek out Chang and ask him to recommend another school similar to mo pai or ask him if he can point me in the right direction. But at the moment I am going to work with what I have, and just monitor the internet for new information on masters and training. I plan on starting my retreat sometime soon, I am still making preparations.

I can honestly look you in the eye and tell you I am doing the best I can in life right now, and traveling to China or Indonesia isn't possible for me at the moment, even if I did have the money.

Regards

-matt

Matt,

Go back and re-read what I have written before. I have neither the time or inclination to rewrite the same things over again.

Take some time and think them over. Not once did I say I was better than everyone else, only in some things I have experience where others-yourself included-do not. If my experiences do not tally with what you want to believe then that is fine, suit yourself.

If you can find any reference of me bragging about my superior abilities, feel free to post it, because I can not recall any such instance.

When I come over to the US in the future you are more than welcome to come and meet me. I say that in friendship, not as a challenge. Then you can feel free to take the measure of the person I am, in person, and not over some petty internet squabble.

You may not believe me, but everything I have said was done so to help. It came from experience, very hard earned. It is presented 'unvarnished' as that is how it was learned.

Best,

Mike

Does your master (whomever he or she is), have any demonstrable abilities like John Chang?

It seems you have been doing this teacher student transmission thing for a while now, how is that working out for you, have you yourself developed any demonstrable abilities like John Chang?

If the answer is honestly no, then how do you figure you are any more advanced than anyone else here?

Abilities are for what?

Why do we get them for?

What is their Purpose? If all you are looking to do is to have abilities you will be chasing your tail for years. But if you look to help others on your path the universe will give you the abilities with out effort.

And yes My teacher and teachers have done things like John Chang and in some ways have demonstrated things i have yet to see John Chang do.

I in no way mean any disrespect to John Chang. I am just making a point here.

There are many "Buddhas" among us.

Peace

Santiago

I see a number of people mention going to China in search of a teacher. I probably did not give a proper introduction, but I got out of the Navy after 4 years of service on a disability. I've been to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Korea... I remember one day a friend of mine was buying Viagra (hahaha) from a pharmacy in Hong Kong on Kowloon side. The pharmacist was telling me that he had been on a tank in Her Majesty's Army when Hong Kong was still under British rule and that he collects command ballcaps whenever Navy guys are in town on a port visit. We had a quick conversation and I mentioned to him that I love kungfu. He said "you should move to the mainland if you're serious about learning kungfu," we told him we would try to drop by with a ballcap from our ship and parted ways.

Even though I did not get a teacher's name from him or anything, I'm sure if I was living in Hong Kong and seeking a teacher, someone would have eventually given me a name or a place. Maybe they would have been a bad teacher, didn't have the goods, or whatever, but you take what you can get until you find something better.

Now it's not as hard to go to China as people make it out to be. There is a shortage of English teachers in China AND Indonesia. If you find the right program, they will pay for your apartment and travel over there as well as assisting you in getting the necessary visa and such. It does not take long to find the programs, I signed up for one just requesting additional information and they send me at least 1 e-mail a week asking when I can come out to South Carolina for an interview. Of course, I have my bachelor's,a little teaching experience, and naval experience in the pacific fleet. I am sure any person that is interested in the culture with a clean background and some level of intelligence should have no problem. I will add that the programs I looked at required at least an associate's degree.

I'm not sure if this is helpful at all ( definately is not pertinent to the topic!) but I just wanted to point out that getting to China is really the easy part. Finding a teacher, well, as much as I hate to say it, is up to chance.

I don't want to be a gayman. Help me with all my addiction problems." AND HE DID. It was not easy. I can love a woman . HE MADE ME A MAN. God took all the evil away from me in one day.

Regards,

I am not gay but have a few gay friends. But what you said really sounds so Evangelistic. If what you are saying is that you were not actually gay and were forced into Gay Prostitution, then I agree with you. In that case, you were really not gay but only playing gay ...

But if you were Gay and somehow became non-gay through prayers, and transformed or suppressed gay tendencies, it does not seem like the right thing to do. Or are your statements coming from the background that some Daoists consider Homosexuality to be unnatural?

And my sympathies for what you have gone through.

EDIT: I now understood this was someone else with a lot of time on his hands that wrote this and not mjjbecker. Thanks Scotty .... :D

And Mr. Imposter, thanks for confusing me ...

Can some explain what is Yin Yang Gong?

Mo Pai I didnt find as Daoist school. There is no clue that it is related to Mo Tzu or Bodhidharma.,except that 72 levels of Mo Pai is maybe similar to some Chan Buddhist Martial Arts from Shaolin.

When I see John Chang use Keris this give me more indications that Mo Pai Nei Gong is related to Tenaga Dalam and related tradition.

Unfortunately, only John Chang and students of the Mo pai lineage would know those answers. The school, as far as I know, is closed to westerners.

You will find the term Yin Yang Gong in the Shaolin tradition, but as far as I can tell, without the surpreme magical accomplishment aura surrounding it (as compared to references to a certain method /book mentioned above....)

Yes I have and read this book.

Mo Pai looks like mix of Chan Buddhism from Shaolin with Tenaga Dalam(Tridaya) Nei Gong.

I'm not even sure if he is still alive.

I have read that the news he was dead was not true as few people said he was very alive.

Actually i would be surprised if he was dead at that age and with all that power lol

My teacher knows John Chang because he Also lives in East Java indonesia where there are a lot of Tenaga Dalam practice. But unfortunately Mo Pai and Tenaga Dalam might look the same but My teacher confirm to me the breathing pattern and energy flow in the Body is different.
