I agree that the problem is the behavior of a group, just not our group.

This is a sick joke! Your group is the problem. Your passive trolling behaviour in this thread just proves it.

Our group is not the problem.

We are not trolling, not even passively.

We merely politely defend ourselves, our teachers, and our practice and continue to look for other like minded individuals.

Zork,

It is clear to me you are very angry about something, what exactly I am unsure.

I hope one day you are able to make peace with whatever it is, and realize our group are not "the bad guys".

I am angry because i ask questions in plain english like the dreaded: "which of your 3 available levels include neigong elements?" And i get irrelevant answers!

It shows disrespect to me as a participant in the conversation.

It doesn't take a genius to figure it out!

The practice of mo pai without  permission from the master is karmically innapropriate. To traditional schools it is a travesty. Until you realise that, there is nothing more to say.

Furthermore i am critisizing your group's behavior in the forum not the ethical standing of it's individuals.

I personally am interested in Mo Pai and would love to know more about it.  In particular, I´d like to hear about the life and practice experiences of the people who have taken up the discipline.  And before anyone from the "group" jumps in to tell me so, I already know: this is not a safe environment for such sharing.

Thelerner tried to start an actual discussion about Mo Pai once.  He did it in his personal practice area so he could moderate flamewars.  Despite his sincere efforts, it went nowhere.  Too bad.

Some people think there´s too much discussion of Mo Pai here, but I think there´s not enough.  Actually there´s no discussion at all.  No real discussion that I remember of techniques, no real discussion of experiences.

I think this is a situation that calls for some equaimity and acceptance.  MildMouse is MildMouse.  Ilovecoffee is Ilovecoffee.  We´d love it if they answered questions.  If they engaged in some sort of reasonable back-and-forth dialogue.  Well folks, ain´t gonna happen.  I can choose to stop beating my head against the Mo Pai wall -- or not -- but the wall is here to stay.

Thelerner started a discussion about mo pai, except there was never one bit of actual discussion on mo pai.

I would love to openly speak more about it, so would the rest of the group.

The problem is as soon as the other members open their mouths here, they become a target.

It is just like politics,  mention you are an atheist socialist to a bunch of southern baptist ultra right wing neoconservatives and see what happens as a result.

The environment here is not one where we can openly talk about our life and our practice, without having it used as ammunition to attack us with later.

The best thing we can hope for is a moratorium on all mo pai discussion here, we have no reason to defend something if no one else can attack it.

Everyone would benefit.

Just my $0.02

This conversation was never about Mo Pai in the other thread nor was it in the beginning of this thread as far as I am concerned. It is my concern because he originally called this thread “For Earl Grey” and in my own interest I was focused on the general topic of learning from video. Several times already I said we’re not talking about Mo Pai but he instead insists on redirecting the subject back to Mo Pai, even without  naming it.

So he wants to talk about Mo Pai, okay. Yet he doesn’t feel safe talking about it here. Okay. Yet he brings it up in unrelated matters because he sees the general topic being too close to an older argument used against him, even if that particular argument about Mo Pai wasn’t even happening between us, nor was the conversation about Mo Pai. It was about learning from videos, and he seems to think I said one can’t learn from videos even though I never said that, nor am I even referring to his system.

I reply specifically to you because I already added him to my ignored users list due to how he’s refused to answer direct questions about what languages he speaks or what countries he has visited or if he is able to consider learning styles, learning disabilities, as opposed to him saying anyone can learn from videos unless they are distracted or unmotivated—especially when those who are extremely motivated still struggle, just as i have seen people get multiple tutors and extra help from departments because they struggle to learn due to their deficiencies that prevent them from learning at pace. Immigrants and refugees come to mind, as do trauma survivors recovering their mental faculties.

So far he has not and at this point I am absolutely certain he will not answer any direct questions (and I wonder why even for non-Mo Pai-related queries), nor will he be able to continue without changing the focus back to his victim narrative and his insufferable narrative. I have already identified every place he has not only been completely in the wrong, but how he violated user policies here, and still refuses to give an apology.

At this point this thread should be locked because it is the same nonsense yet again and he will likely say this is proof of the forum oppressing him and his group. I also believe he should never have a PPJ because he won’t be using it in the spirit of good will but to instead log perceived oppression. And if he is so unhappy here, I really don’t see any reason he should stay here because nobody wants to talk about Mo Pai due to how draining it is and the perpetual Groundhog’s Day loop we exist in whenever the topic appears. He has his own forum with like-minded people, and initially with his earlier interactions he seemed like he had some other interests to discuss like on leftist ideas.

Unfortunately he chooses not to and is in his own words, “looking for like-minded individuals” and defending himself against perceived attacks. I still haven’t seen any attacks nor have I in any manner attacked his system or his group.

Yet in spite of it all, I still welcome him and the rest of them here if they are able to avoid bringing up Mo Pai just like they want us to never bring it up.

So far, it has proven easier for us to avoid it and far more difficult for him to keep his mouth shut about it, and the real issue is, he’s insufferable and refuses to follow the rules, acting incredibly sensitive because an innocuous and unrelated statement set him off and brought him back to old arguments like a soldier back from ‘Nam sees flashbacks with every little thing. He demands the ridiculous double-standard of not apologizing for what he’s done that is objectively wrong and yet demands we on this forum walk around eggshells for him due to how oppressed he feels.

Perhaps the best thing to do is to show him the door and welcome him back if he’s ready to to reciprocate and play nice. Based on his attitude and self-assured smugness, I don’t see that happening and so a more convenient approach is best left to Sean or whomever is moderating in the future.

@MildMouse23

Your little adventures into Mo Pai are nothing compared to a direct experience with the life force that permeates the universe in which there are alien forces in the cosmos that would make anyone's blood curdle. I doubt you are ready for any serious practice!

I am curious Luke, what do you expect to hear?

Their practice is extremely limited to some qigong exercises aimed at an eventual LDT activation.

You can have far stronger experiences by practicing zen meditation or some psychic qigong system.

This.

They don't answer. Period. There is no dialogue if one refuses to engage in conversation but repeats the same things over and over. I mean, what is the point of being in these forums if not to talk about anything?

I remember asking Ilovecoffee what the purpose of his practice is and he never answered. It is not a fu**ing state secret!

And it was an honest question. Why was he vague about it? It makes no sense.

In a similar vein i asked this guy what part of their 3 level practice is related neigong. He never answered.

Why? What is the problem if he is practicing Qigong instead of Neikong? Is it a social stigma of sorts?

This behavior is not constructive and not welcome here.

Zork,

Our practice is not some extremely limited qigong exercise as you suggest.

I know based on my own observations this is life changing, it is as big a deal as first contact, and it would change the world and all our paradigms.

Unfortunately we do not have the power to force people to see for themselves, if we did we would certainly use it.

I disagree about zen meditation and qigong systems getting "stronger experiences".

We don't answer because we can't, not because we don't want to.

You will notice this thread began with taking about a video of how information and practices are corrupted by a game of telephone / "Chinese whispers", and it is devolved into this.

Any time any of us say anything the result is the same.

Being unable to say anything anytime without it becoming a 50+ page argument is indeed unwelcome and and not constructive behavior.

I find it similar behavior to the political threads where the right wing trolls prevented any left leaning people from expressing an opinion without a war erupting.

Different topic but exactly the same behavior.

Sounds like an ultra secret exclusive club! Can’t answer because you can’t? Sworn to absolute secrecy? Must be a large price tag to join your little cult!

What is the "explain it like I'm 5" contention in this topic? I'm confused as to what's causing the escalation. Is this 7 pages about the pros/cons of learning from self-study of multimedia materials vs. in person? Is it about secrecy in traditions being inherently wrong somehow? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
