Best Book Recommendation For Maximum Cultivation Practices?

Recommended Posts

Your choice! I decided to buy the Mind Light Nei Kung DVD set including the Nei Kung Bible and I am glad that I have both! ;)

The Mind Light Nei Kung & Tidal Wave DVD set are just wayyyyyyyyyyy too expensive for me.

I still have minor children to attend to, financially, and approaching 52 years old, I don't see Clyman's DVDs in my future, for this lifetime lol

I could never be that selfish and pay $4,000 for DVDs just for myself, when that money could be used for my wife and children.

So if the Universe/godz decide I need it, it will fall from the heavens (or come up from the ground lol) either way.

I found Jerry A. Johnson's Daoist Alchemy online, but it was just a brief synopsis of it, darn it lol.

I though for sure it was complete but it's like 4 pages ROFL

So at the price of $200, that most likely, will be my choice.

But I will wait until I save up the other $100 lol

Autumn 2014 be my guess

Patience is one of my virues, so I have something to look forward to :)

the first one, yes: Total Wellness

It's one of those books that should be in everyone's collection regardless. Get it anyway if you haven't got it yet. (used for three bucks)

His Feng Shui book is also very interesting, but kind of difficult to make heads or tails of. There's more Qigong in it than Feng Shui, which makes sense, but, well, you don't need it.

So my birthday is coming up soon and my wife gave me $100.

(maybe a little extra if I am good. Probably not going to happen though on that last one) :)

So what In Your Opinion is the Best Book Recommendation For Maximum Cultivation Practices?

See the link to dragon gate sanctuary in my signature line.

I have achieved more than I ever thought I could.

Therefore, I am not going to limit myself for future spiritual endeavors.

The day I stop learning, is the day I will die.

In my opinion, this old dog still has some tricks to learn :)

Is there something particulary you have in mind you want to learn?

I like to learn new cultivating techniques.

I do also.

The thing is you have different sources to choose

if you choose the right book at the right you gain more than

which is in the book.

This is something I expirience:

Actually it is pretty easy to go to amazon or a bookstore.

The book that shines the most and more present is it for the moment.

Yes and your Tantien is bigger & better <_< for that amount of food you take - indeed ^_^

My method, watch all the vids, and read the preview on all the books you are interested in. Go by intuition on which resonates with you best :). This is even more fun in an in person bookstore!

(how that got into PM instead of in the thread I"m not so sure?? I've even been getting enough sleep lately lol)

If you find a practice that you find interesting, do a reading to se if it will be right for you in the long run.

This can save you a lot of time.

I like to learn new cultivating techniques.

Might be old techniques to you but just in case, for something relatively non-standard:

Kuan Yin Magnetic Qigong from Christopher Matsuo that Trunk I think suggested somewhere earlier in this thread already, works with ida/pingala/sushuma and 'cultivates' pineal and pituitary glands.

Flying Phoenix has percentage breathing and DVD is low priced (unless one wants to acquire whole system).

Re Kuan Yin Magnetic Qigong from Christopher Matsuo, can anybody say how safe it is? Has anybody experienced anything unpleasant with this practice?

I've been eyeing this DVD for quite some time but couldn't make my mind because of safety.

Thanks.

This would be best thread to ask in:

http://thetaobums.com/topic/21297-kuan-yin-magnetic-qigong/

IMHO it's one of those where you have to be particularly careful, for it's not about filling some empty space in the navel as usual but "frying the brain"

Sounds like you have most of the things we've suggested so far! I've read Meredith's book and really enjoyed it. Do you already have a T'ai Chi form you practice? If not, you might want to pick one up.

These are the T'ai Chi videos I would recommend:

Jerry Alan Johnson's Tai Chi: The Empowering Workout

Yang Style T'ai-Chi Ch'uan: Warm Ups, Standing Meditation, Ch'i Kung, First Section (volume 1)

Yang Style T'ai-Chi Ch'uan Solo Form and Applications (volume 2)

Whenever Meredith's Tai Chi PENG video comes out, I'll be getting that as well.
