Not sure why ā€œNo angerā€ is ā€œfakeā€. As long as you're not suppressing it. I think the more clear a person is, the more one is aware that anger is not really necessary in interacting with others. Usually it gets in the way (in a big way). I would even say an anger response is usually based on oneā€™s own internal conflict of the situation.

I think you jump to extremes at the drop of a hat. That's is a little bit crazy. Especially if you do that constantly in your mind. Someone listens to a speech on wisdom.. thus.. laughing at alcoholics (just like the Buddha?? where the heck do you get these things?) .. being kind is extinguishing yourself?? If they catch you you're crucified?? Wow!! Do you live by your exaggerations? Sorry for setting you off by mentioning kindness, thoughtfulness, respect.. not following the first selfish impulse are all good things. Not because you get points or are being watched, they simply make for a better life, imo. To some extent we reflect the kind of world we want to live in. Being helpful, courteous, the cliche Boy Scout ethics (dropping the homophobic one), strive for them and there are rewards. Life, while perfect is happier, pronoia. Your friends, neighbors, family.. often even strangers reflect those values back at you, it makes for better living. I suspect if you live by the paradigm mankind is filled with monkeys, zombies and horrible people. You repeat that to yourself, and write it out 8 or 9 times a day, tell it to everyone who'll listen to you; how much people suck. While one's ego may blow up, since they're a wonderkind in a world of rot, that for the most part, they will be very unhappy.

Often its good to do better then your ordinary self. Take the time to see when potential actions are motivated by the ego(anger, selfishness), take a step back and act with a little more patience and kindness. Perhaps not in a fight, but I don't fight too often, matter of facts its pretty rare. I do have situations daily where given a little thought, I can act thoughtfully and feel better afterwards. Its why I study dharma lessons from the wise. Wisdom, kindness, respect for others and a little discipline make life run smoother. Giving in to the moments anger, impatience.. harshly judging strangers make life bumpier.. easier at the moment, but in the long run, thoughtfulness pays off big time. Is it fake? I don't think so, rather its maturity. One that increasingly becomes the ordinary self.

Hello, Iong time lurker, first time poster, I'm big on personal growth and was wondering if there are any practices specific to awareness of these energies. The energy from doing qigong is what I would consider to be subtle, feels like electricity and magnetism. Any suggestions?

I doubt he defeated anything other than some of his supporters' ability to know right from wrong before he came onto the scene. Have to give it to the guy for his knack of muddying the swamp and then act all saviour-like, as if on a vital mission that nobody before him dared assume. That'll keep the rest of his crew busy for a while i guess.... And now a large swathe of his base hopped on the crusade against imagined entities that he daily reminds these people are responsible for all their plight and past misfortunes. Say it often enough and some of it bound to stick. That storyline definitely sells. If he's a businessman, thats 2/5 thinking. Even my young nephew knows that ploy well.

I suggest a two-step process for dealing with strong emotions, including anger. Step one: feel what you feel. Repression is bad for the body and thereĀ“s no sense pretending to feel only "love and light" if thatĀ“s not the case. Step two: take the step back suggested by Thelerner. Just because you feel angry doesnĀ“t mean you need to punch someone. In fact, punching someone is rarely the best option. The key is to create space between an emotion and the acting out of that emotion. A big part of being an adult is not acting out our emotions -- while still allowing ourselves to feel them.

Conservative columnist George F. Will, who left the Republican Party after it nominated Trump in 2016, explains to Lawrence Oā€™Donnell why Republican lawmakers are standing by Trump and the long-term damage he thinks Trump is doing to America's civic culture. George Will "I believe that what this president has done to our culture, to our civic discourse ... you cannot unring these bells and you cannot unsay what he has said, and you cannot change that he has now in a very short time made it seem normal for schoolboy taunts and obvious lies to be spun out in a constant stream. I think this will do more lasting damage than Richard Nixon's surreptitious burglaries did." Justin Amash "If you're a Republican, please ask yourself if the party really represents your principles and values. You don't need to become a Democrat. Simply stand up for what is right. America's tradition of liberty is beautiful, and it depends on our love and respect for one another."

Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face. One of the most powerful and sacred tools in your armory is your anger and laying down like a little bitch whilst someone disrespects you is in no way form elevated, advanced or spiritual. It just means you're afraid of owning your own power and slapping the taste out o their mouth for even daring to address you like that. Can't pick and choose what you like and what you leave behind cos ultimately its all you. The trick is knowing when to express what to whom and why and for the optimal duration and intensity.

A man has free speech, while the leader of the country has responsibilities which mean he shouldn't go around spouting anything which comes into his head because there are serious consequences. If you don't understand that subtlety then maybe the dementia is creeping in? If Omar is illegal then deport her, if not then it's just plain racism. I have no horse in this race as I don't live in the US, so have no preference for any political side. I have watched Trump most his life and used to quite like him on the Apprentice, but electing him as your leader I found hilarious as he is more or less just a traditional con man, a kind of guy you wouldn't buy a car from, but now he's being openly racist (and rational people are defending him no matter what he does) it becomes more worrying.
  11. 2 points
So you guys have no problem with Trump being openly racist ? "Send them back" is a phrase with a racist history and racist connotations, there is not even any attempt to cover it up now, it's a deliberate strategy. Of course such rhetoric is divisive , this isn't some liberal media conspiracy dividing your country, your President is plainly and openly courting it.

Found this nice guided set for Yi Jin Jing practice from Shaolin Europe. Any one has experience practicing this. I've not done this set before, but have done baduanjin. I must say I find the YiJinJing practice pretty energizing at a different (more physical level) than my Taiji practice (which is more qi and shen level nowadays).

That's kind of the problem of the GOP. they expect others to play by the same rules that you've outline which they don't. When they're subject to their own tactics they cry foul which many do. Trump and some members of team Trump are fighters which they should be and need to be. "Federal prosecutors in New York City will not bring additional charges as part of their investigation into payments orchestrated by former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen to pornographic actress Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 presidential election, according to the Associated Press." https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/07/18/report-hope-hicks-wont-be-charged-in-trump-campaign-finance-investigation/

I mean, Stormy is still hearsay (wait until you find out why it was Don Jr who was the one that got divorced ) white supremacy is just a laughable statement, "alternate facts" are often misdirections....and really his big transgression is that he took advantage of eminent domain laws once, once you've boiled it all down and the fluff disappears.

hehe no, not feeling insecure whatsoever, things are quite comfy here. feeling better than ever about how things are going, in fact (I mean, not to say I'm rubbing anyone's nose in the fact that just about everything I've been talking about is coming to pass, heh.) I know you approach your analysis in an unbiased fashion, but that doesnt mean you're still not drawing from a poisoned well. and a bit naive as to the hierarchy of ownership of the media - which is why you treat them "in an unbiased fashion" and act like you do not perceive them as biased - but that's part of the problem, because they are biased and are reporting as their board of directors and executive staff wish them to. (kinda funny that Ed Schultz "is a completely different person" now that he's on RT and not working for NBC, lol. but it makes perfect sense when you understand that the BoD & Execs dictate corporate policy and what is reported & opined upon.) where you think I'm giving them too much credit, I see them utilizing (well, burning up, plenty often) the trust they've built over the last 70 or so since the TV was invented. the corporate media didnt consolidate into 6 corporations by accident - it just makes more sense when you understand that a lot of these richfucks are down with the subversion of humanity and will abuse their positions to help their group make it all happen. and as to real scandals...you'd best go buy a REAL big bag of popcorn bro, because the real scandals are right on the cusp of everyone knowing about them. (cuz the amount of fkery in your country is just about equal to that of the fkery that's gone on over here...spies in everywhere, diggin and stealin eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeverything)

I think its easy to stoke the fire of discontent, borrowing Stosh's honest admittance to further your own battle. Are you feeling a little insecure lately, bruh? But your comment about attachment is spot on! lol As for being a neutral & unbiased critic, its pretty simple to explain why such an assertion was made (speaking for myself) - I don't entertain notions of any hypothetical scenario where another individual or party is assumed to be a more effective than the current one. Biasness is associated with preferential arguments, which is basically what you & some others espouse here, whereas I care not if Trump stays for another 6 terms, as candidly mentioned by Aetherous lol Its easy to be neutral critic when there's no personal gain or loss at stake. If I say a person A has an immoral stench, thats a neutral view based on direct observation of his character - but if I add a perspective endorsing person B, saying he/she possesses greater moral aptitude and therefore will be a better alternative to person A, then that is the definition of bias as per this argument. Actually its not necessary to rely on msm to form certain opinions about Trump. There are plenty of valid incidents about his past to draw from, and if you insist on maintaining that narrative about being fed solely by msm, I think you're giving msm too much credit, and not enough to the real scandals surrounding this man who is the subject of this thread.

Your interpretations continue to be rather colorful, inaccurate hyperbole. Exactly where is the 'resoundingly sing the glories' part ? This may be the problem when one only views one side of a coin without seeing the other side and the environment the coin sits in. Is the coin in your pocket, on a sidewalk, on a road, in a machine. If one cannot see the entire breath of the context, then one is picking and choosing the discrete observations they have. This has been repeatedly pointed out but seemingly ignored. Maybe I'll put it this way: One reason that some ignore Trump [let's say the history, tweets, slurs, missteps, shoddy cabinet] is because that is a very small piece of the entire context of what is going on. Those in outrage mode only see this above and can't see the rest; this is the morality of his person. Those with strong opinions on Trump as slurring racist stuff realize it is maybe going around with others but due to his position he should not while others are ok; this is the morality of his position. Those who dislike his decision making are not used to a different tact and can't accept someone doing something they would not do; this is the morality of his power. Those who can see both sides, see the historical context of defying the person, position, and power see it began in 2016 and has only grown stronger. There is actually no real basis for it except emotional instability, from what i can see. Because nobody in their right mind would get emotional over something someone tweets, slurs, or does just because he is a big mouth, business conniving New Yorker. To get emotional over one person and not see the Millions in meltdown in their defiance is to ignore the greater context. Add in career politicians + Intelligence who purposely (and secretly) attempt to stop an administration. Add in a previous administration who appears to have played a role in looking into an opposing candidate (that is watergate). Add in making up Russian collusion, setting up campaign staff using international friendlies and claiming crimes that are completely shown false after 2 years (I won't mention the money wasted). Add in, Diane Feinstein had a chinese spy as a driver for 20 years; they immediately went to her when they found out. Why didn't they go to Trump when they first suspected staff as 'possibly' working with Russia? There is a civil and political hoax and hoodwink that went contagious to the masses in an attempt by one administration/career politicans/intelligence to try and effect another opposing candidacy... This seems to have much more plausibility than Russian Collusion because we KNOW several facts. There is a basis for suspecting foul play. Please explain where was the basis for foul play in Russian Collusion? All this context is still not complete... There could be so much more detail added in. So, in the midst of all this... one guy is the focus and problem ? Now that is a funny way to be neutral. For the record: I'm not picking on anyone here... but I think the big picture is mostly lost on the most. So... if we want to play, pin the tail on the donkey/ass... we can do that the rest of our lives. Let's pin it on Trump and then work our way through the house, senate, politicians, and intelligence community. We'll need several years to do it. And in the end realize: They are all pretty much doing the same thing...

This bill is unconstitutional, as is the 'classification' and unlawful 'illegalization' of mj to begin with. (There are some differences between the concept of lawful and legal - but the big difference is, 'legal' can pretty much wind up being whatever the law wants it to mean, at times.) Right out the gate, the first line, is Unconstitutional. The ONLY Constitutionally consistent approach is complete deregulation. This is 100% a 10th amendment thing and the States are within their rights to pass legislation concerning it - but the fedgov has no enumerated authority for this. (like, it should be period end of story unequivocal, but we have a history of subversion to deal with.) Really, the ONLY lawful thing the feds can do regarding policing is decide they arent going to let any in at the borders, coast guard, and enforce those areas. Pretty much anything else is just yet another to toss on the great huge heap of atrocities committed against The Constitution For These United States of America (not that we've even used that since the corporate forgery of 1871 was introduced, but I digress.)

its part of the corporate theft model - subsidies go to wind up helping the politically favored all too often, which was something that was also going into overdrive under the Obama admin. hw & bubba were just stomach blows, dubya was a strong one to the side of the head, Obama was a liver shot and hillary would have landed right on the jawbone of america as the globalists pivoted to china and let the usa languish in its fantastic debt and neutered industrial capacity, well on its way to idiocracy levels of general intellect under the Progressive banner.

In the TTC it says embrace the earth and heaven will follow ... well what does that mean? People read these texts whilst sipping tea and thinking themselves very special, because they are spiritual and advanced and imagine they sit on a white throne. Actually what we are meant to understand, is to embrace what you are, including the things you run from, your sexuality, your natural self-protection that people disdain as anger, your own personal self and so on. Embrace your normal self, that is the earth. And without a fuss. And heaven will follow. The unconscious masses are lost inside themselves, like an unconscious sea, they cannot be said to embrace anything. Others think they embrace ... but really they wish to be Mother Theresa and don't embrace themselves but whip themselves. Yet others embrace .... but refuse to be themselves, they embrace from a distance like "the management". And others jump up and down smashing things and screaming like bioenergetics, which is mindless and leads nowhere. Being yourself, the sun, the clouds, the thunder, the lightning ... but without making it personal, that is embracing the earth. That is being natural. The Buddhists and others became confused and lost their way ... the only thing they had left was to self-torture, self-denigrate, self-deny, but this is not a very good way. It can work but still why do it this way.

Kamal Harris told Trump to 'go back to where he came from'... So we add Kamal Harris to the racist ranks? Oh, She was already called out for playing race cards against Biden... Then her campaign got livid over suggestions that her mother as Indian and father as Jamaican makes her not an African American as she has purportedly trying to portray herself over her lifetime. The subtlety seems to be she is black... just as you can be black latino. Folks were called racist for even asking "is this true?" It seems anyone who says anything against anyone can be called racist nowadays... it is thrown around so much it has lost its real meaning. And a thousand more examples could be given. Time to loosen up the wax in the ears and let folks be who they are. IF we treated everyone equally like that, then where would be the problem...

If you want to do some moving routines to boost your energy and strengthen your tendons try Ba Dua Jin, 5 Animals Frolic, Yi Jin Jing. They are classic exercises, information is widely available, and all free. Another tip on strength training, it's not always about having big muscles (although, that's nice to have), but it's more about training your nervous system. The body is a very efficient machine. It is trying to conserve energy. Most of the time, even during weight lifting, your body is only recruiting about half of your muscles. Part of what doing multiple repetitions does is to tire some muscles so that other new ones get recruited to take their place and also get strengthened. That's what will make your muscles bigger. Doing low reps and even one rep at close to your max will cause your body to use all your muscles at once. This takes practice, though. It's going to take time to retrain your nervous system to do something it's not naturally inclined to do.

It does not require "knowing how to develop" A good grounding in proper practice along with breath and attention and intention in the LDT will bear the fruit you seek. The senses can be drawn through / to / into the LDT, there the fire burns away the recoil and addiction. The great personalities of the head, the throat and the heart are not aroused and the solar plexus is not stirred to action - the adrenals are not bent to act and chemical systems are not put into swing. But the root is being given all elements and from there everything is nourished and all currents receive well from the Heaven and the earth and nature. This abundance will soon enough create both a base of stored power and a fount of higher energies for the Middle Dan Tien and later the same will occur to the upper dantien. When you own the mountain first you will not be like a needy hiker who is unprepared for the wind and the rain and falls to hiding and fighting the elements rather than thriving in the land that is made his/her own. Fear is laid to waste in the Fire of the mountain and futures are not fought in heady babble and love does not tear and rip. You feel the pulse from the earth and heavens and all the creatures are your brother and sisters. There is nothing to fear on the mountain - or anywhere. But beyond all the metaphor - from the base the trunk is bigger and far more expansive than is assumed and this is true in all the energies and subtle bodies. The idea of orchestrating this by oneself is as preposterous as the idea that one is by oneself in otherness. We think in terms of higher and lower as good, better, best - a tree with no roots and a shallow foundation is a dead tree lying on its side and withering. Like a chick drawn to flying - the sky calls but all the bones and muscle need to form before jumping out of the nest happens well.
  49. 1 point
The lower dantien is the heart of the root of the tree - from there upward the energies expand. The foundation from there is less confusing and progress is much faster. "focusing on developing"? this assumes you have an idea upon what you are focusing and developing - this is a fools parade into a labyrinth - but the word alone - heart - it is like a siren calling. What could possibly go wrong? The bedrock of the LDT is in the fire and quiet - the steady earth energies and the pure energies. One is not apt to lose oneself in false love and false compassion and concocted oneness. The rest will unfold as will happen - the proud doer will thrive in focusing and developing anywhere - simply breath into the root and happen from there. A strong root will be needed for the rest to fall away - for the rest to face falseness and idealistic child's play and indulgence in ones praise of ones good intentions. The lower dantien does not have this - it is simple and yet a thousand times more powerful in healing us and dissolving our habituations than heart and head combined - it is what allows heart and head so much leeway in monkey world and the constant beatings that they subject the bodies to. Own the LDT and the path is clear and you are ready for the winds and the tides. Man/Woman stand like mountains here.
