Well, we'll see.

 

At the moment all I do is dance or exercise or sit on this damn cushion all day long.

 

My knees and ankles ache a bit.

 

It was bright yellow, now its looking really grubby.

 

Did someone say something about a blue cushion?

 

I bin lookin' at buildin' an orgone accumulator fer years.

 

When I think of Reich, I start to cry.

 

It's that damn Cloudbusting song.

Does anyone just straight up practice chi arts 4, 6, 10 hours a day?

I love TTB for inspiration but dayummmm the mo pai thread, superpowers just come from working dat chi straight up.

 

Is there a thread for heavy hitters who are really in it like you need to be for that level?

Hold open the third eye every waking second.

 

When it becomes like second nature, practice with heart in nature, all the while third eye awake.

Yes.

 

I'd like to change "chi arts" to "Wizard Wayz."

 

Some may be sceptical that my practices are "chi arts."

 

I do various forms of meditation.

 

I do things that are "ritualistic" eg tea making, use of candles and incense.

 

Pranayama.

 

I hum.

 

I chant.

 

I pray/"invoke".

 

I do various forms of writing.

 

I do a little reading, mostly on the 'net.

 

I do things that are like yoga.

 

I do things that are like tai chi.

 

I do something that is like dancing!

 

I do something that is not unlike singing!

 

Every waking moment (sleeping moment?) is waking state as Mr M said above.

 

I don't cook much, I eat little and throughout the day in small snacks.

 

I don't shop.

 

I don't go out.

 

I don't sleep much.

 

I have no friends.

 

Some days I spend a lot of time sitting on my cushion.

 

And I listen to my little radio, or music from the laptop speaker.

 

What else am I gonna do?

 

Sheesh

 

Oh, and there is also dream qi gong for while I sleep.

 

So, its basically 24 hours.

 

I mean, I meditate whilst chewing my nuts.

Once a week I see a psychologist for one hour.

 

Once a week I see my children for an hour and a half (not enough, damnnit! grrr).

 

I can meditate properly whilst travelling.

 

Social interaction accounts for 2.5 hours per week.

 

Unless you count the chat channel here, eh mr m?

 

Maybe chattin' wid me is a "chi art."

That's a lot of cultivation.

4-hours is a pretty big chunk out of anyone's day let alone more than 4- hours.

All told, every day I do about half an hour and a couple of hours on class nights.

All respect to anyone doing more.

so some of you thought you were goin to ascend with your 20min practice?

you have to train full time... 8-10hrs a day for everything, this is like a job.

better yet this is a life style.... some of you are playing hobbies on the weekends...

thats true none of the greats became greats by being weekend warriors...to truly advance this has to be your life!!

Practicing heart in nature will bring you to the gates where the ritual by water and ritual by fire takes place. Awareness reaches out to become one with these elements, each in turn, all the while third eye awake.

 

Patience is the key, and none of it works if one isn't ready. The heart knows better than the mind in this case. It takes time, contentment in the place you are wherever it may be.

 

Being in the moment instead of trying to be in the next.

Jolly, as the feeling you feel in your gut upon laughter. Bound as it may seem, to that relative location, freedom is for you to bring to that feeling.

It is love that is used to reach out with awareness and touch the other elements. It how to connect with the element. Not the clinging biased sort of love, the one that is free.

I find that one way to increase your practice (but it doesn't count in the say way) is to teach others what you practice (once you are experienced enough at it to be qualified to teach that is.

 

Some other tricks, throw out the TV, prioritize your life so that your training ranks higher than other things. (no one needs a social life right? :D)

A student went to see a Zen master and declared he wanted to become a master himself and asked how low long would it take him? The teacher replied: “Ten years.”

The student, a bit impatient and not satisfied with the answer went ahead and said: "But I want to master it faster than that, I will work every hard, practice 10 or more hours a day if necessary. How long would it THEN take?" The teacher replied: “Twenty years.”

Only time I ever do above 20 minutes a time is when teaching.

That said I only do and teach the 8 Strands Silk Brocade QiGong these days.

As one gets older ( I am old) the sitting meditation side increases as the 'doing' side, of necessity; decreases.

Anybody who is fit enough to put in above an hour a day deserves respect and encouragement.

I used to cultivate ( bagua MA) for hours a day every week, every year and enjoyed it.

That was my main 'hobby' , passion and pastime.

Comes a time though when you just have to do less physically and more mindfully.
