I am new to posting on the forum but have been reading threads for awhile now, and have found useful practical information. My primary interest at this time is qi gong. It is helpful for me to hear more and learn more and be able to ask questions about these : Zhineng, Flying Phoenix, and Wild Goose. I am reading through the 241-page thread on Flying Phoenix and it is wonderful. Thank you everyone for sharing such helpful contributions.

I watched this documentary with interest. He describes a state of 'oneness' as enlightenment. It reminds me of a dharma talk by Guo Gu, heir of Chan master Shen Zhen. I can't find it now, but said he had a moment of acute oneness during a retreat, sparked by watching tree branch fall in the garden. When he presented his teacher with the tree branch, he was sorely rebuked. He came to realise that the state of oneness also needs to fall away for there to be true awakening. (Couldn't find the talk, included a snippet here) And the quote below from his book

This is your sample, not others. My experience is profoundly different regarding this aspect of society.

So I have attended his workshops. I have observed the attendees, people who have been training his system for a long time. Some are instructors. I will lay out some observations. There were a lot of spontaneous movements that happened to attendees. I think to about 5-6 of them. It was not your average type of zi fa gong. It is hitting the ground, screaming, blissful mumbling. And it seems to be a norm for some long time practitioners. Zi fa gong I know is a normal phenomenon. But to have it to this extreme, not be able to manage it at least in a public workshop setting, it raises questions. I will give damo credit in this. Because he recognizes that it was going on a little too much after the 2nd/3rd day and stepped in to help get some of them to calm down, which did not help much. Damo is actually a very nice guy to talk to, and very cheerful, polite, respectful, open, curious, sincere. I actually have no issues with him personally. But there is something about what comes out the other end of the system. It feels off, and I have seen it with my own eyes. It might not even have anything to do with him particularly. There are other forces that can get involved in these arts as the identity and ego of a school grows to this size. We can also see Damo has had difficulties managing his tendencies to interact on the web with his inner thoughts; when he should be wise enough with all his training to realize the blowback from the public. His personal goals and path seems muddy in recent years. Again, lovely guy in person actually. Not many who talk about him have met him. I have. But puzzle around his school, system, quality of practitioners from my own observations still remains. Granted it was only one workshop that I observed. So take as many grains of salt you wish to take from that. 🙏

Painfully slow this morning. Definitively it's an ongoing problem.

It wasn't you who said those words really. You were under the influence that inspired you to think and do certain things. It's a form of channeling you could say. Such thoughts wouldn't enter your mind if you were under the influence of angelic grace. When you surrender to that influence and allow it to manifest through you, it does indeed enter deeper into your psych and from there its influence becomes more prominent. But the good thing is you can change company any time you want and there's nothing light cannot replace. You might even help the dark entities with the process of ascension as you illuminate your own psyche. Although convincing someone who's under the dark influence to turn to light can take a long time. The solution is simple but reluctance to apply it can take lifetimes. Btw, you're not even the only one like that. Probably 100% of the people conciously or unconsciously were under that influence at least once in their life. It's like a virus in the air. It's not a big deal as long as your immunity is okay.

No doubt you are aware that all energies exist within owner entities - elemental, nature spirit, greater deva, human etc. I test incoming energies very carefully. They carry the intent of their owners. Some entities find humans very useful - including as a source of tasty life force

Time to quote Mark Twain ; “When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.”

Maybe its because we went through decades of not having a plan, method or system and thinking just being positive would do the trick ? Old people are just young people that learnt stuff .

... and not 'just' paintings . This is what we usually see ; a still picture . But if you watch a film of some of them , like Lascaux (or ever had the advantage of being there ! ) and it is filmed right ; IE, a slow 'procession' past the paintings in flickering torch or candle light , you will notice they also use the rock surface and the flickering light to make it look as though some of the animals are moving . This is also apparent in some of the still shots where we see multiple outlines ; ..... the paintings 'come alive' .

It's an on and off thing on my end. Thanks guys for trying to fix this glitch again but what I don't understand is why is it happening again after being fix "for good" roughly two months ago.

Topics people of today consider serious issues. Were things I was stressing over 10 to 20 years ago. Like this campaign back in 2012: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_M._Walker_(U.S._Comptroller_General)#Campaign_for_fiscal_responsibility There's no need to discuss things that will take the rest of the world 5 to 15 years to figure out. I'll simply wait 5 to 15 years for it to become common knowledge. Feel free to revisit this in future years when what I said is proven accurate to a degree that people like you are no longer disputing it.

One of the biggest obstacles on the path (and life in general) is arrogance/pride/hubris. This is why it is important to train humility. Quite often, hubris masks itself as pretended humility - this is a tricky one. Damo is genuinely humble. Call him and his school whatever, but he is deeply and genuinely humble, and there are few people like this who walk the path. To clarify: this my opinion of him comes from several personal interactions I've had with him.

Just as Jesus was not a Christian, the Buddha was not a Buddhist. The Buddha was one amongst countless beings that have become realized , dropped their fetters, and seen through their mistaken belief systems. Is Zen Buddhism? I'm not sure why that would matter. It IS a vehicle for realization, but it is a VERY direct one that will not suit all students. Zen DOES throw you into the "deep end", but, really, there IS no deep end. Realization is actually a very simple affair - in one moment you believe that a particular set of bodily sensations represent some kind of reality as a separate person, and then, miraculously, in the next moment you don't. In this respect Zen is far simpler than most vehicles... that simplicity isn't a bug, it is a feature. Nothing is missing in Zen (though there could be more emphasis on compassion training, IMHO), it just may not be meant for you. If one is drawn to follow a particular set of teachings they should, absolutely. Does this mean that there is something wrong with those other paths? No, not really. Having no tradition or path at all awakens "beings" all the time.

I'm stopping here. I think some of you have lost enough credibility as things stand. No need for you to post more causing yourselves to lose even more than you already have.
