What are you listening to?

This may bring back some memories.

My long term memory is still good.  Short term memory sucks.  (Maybe there has been nothing worth remembering in my life recently?)

A little Velvet Underground from way back. So sad Lou Reed is gone.

Yeah, Lou never got the credit he well deserved.

I don't know why but I just didn't know of Velvet Underground until quite a bit after their popularity.  Maybe too busy doing my Army thing.

I do now have most of their music.

If I recall the story properly, that album was their first.  It's production was financed by Andy Warhol because no record company would record them.  One of Andy's conditions was that Lou must include Nico in the group.  I guess Andy owed her a favor.

Procol Harem is playing here right now.

I think Lou scared people. The voice, the lyrics, the androgyny, the New York attitude. Thing is, he had a greater impact on music than many of his contemporaries. His wife, Laurie Anderson, though much more avant-garde, is pretty talented as well...

That was a new one for me.  I like the one dude's lamp shade head cover.

You are likely very accurate here.  He was very abnormal.

This is one of my favorites from them:

One more and I'll leave you guys in peace.

You are doing fine.  I enjoy ambient music but it requires a special mood before I can enjoy more than a couple minutes.

Black Oak Arkansas is playing here right now:

Saw Humble Pie way back in 1972 at The Spectrum in Philadelphia. King Crimson and J. Geils were in the same show and all for 5.00.
