You'll notice my post tapers down, with the intent of drawing attention to a point.

My point here is very simply and non-confrontational.

That spontaneous movement is as simple and free as children playing, nothing special, but hilariously special if you look at the 3inch box syndrome that "ergonomic culture" is creating...

This means that the "free" circumnavigation of the human sphere of movement may have some initial twists and turns if it's in the form of martial art, and hopefully results in "aliveness" as some have coined it. If it doesn't then when you touch hands with someone you get abused. This can take shape and motion outside of the ergonomic norm of robot people. There are a lot of people out there looking to "act out" through martial art. Crazy Monkey Scratching His Head? Now outside of writhing around in meaningless primordian ooz like a single cell ameoba we'll eventually eventually want to make the journey from crawling to walking upright. After that transition the possibilities are really endless, form and function have to meet in the midsts of application, subject and objective dissolve into one, and ideally, the opponent dissapears into a zeropointed landscape of endless possibility. Inside outside survival instinct one. That is the point. Unity. A Paradoxial Peace through the interplay of stillness and activity. Like a surfer after a full day of waves, lulled to sleep by the rising and falling feeling of waves traveling through them. The skater takes off his skates.

Have you ever grabbed a retarded epileptic while their having a siezer? Why would you do such a thing! Put a pencil in his mouth. Martial Movement as a medium to focus the mind works by stripping away the bullshit dialog and engaging repeatedly even obsessively in the pure physics say biomechanics (kinesthetic wakeup calls) of the body while training mind to maintain a sense of rhythmic calm like to sense the music of the body so you know what notes to play. After you know how to throw a punch, how many different backswings are there? This way we might find ourselves exploring endless variations to achieving the same "goal" of hitting the target in the middle. Again, paradoxial in it's nature. As you can not hold the site still, your eye must be on target while you engage and pause with each breath until the glass breaks.

30 day bump

Spectrum - I was thinking of filming myself... but it's harder than it seems...

I'm having technical problems, but there is something else.

When we do kunlun, it's a very raw, vulnerable state - you feel naked to the core... not something, I personally, feel comfortable sharing with the unscrupulous public.

Another problem is that one doesn't know how the session will go... your spontaneous movement is very body-focused... this happens in K1 for me, but not always... when the energy enters the muscles, tendons and ligaments, I make interesting spirals of all kinds... but sometimes the energy works on a different level - so all you would see is trembling, or clumsy bouncing or jerking around - and all of these things can happen in one session...

I'm not at a level where I can (or wish to) direct where and how the energy moves. It goes into emotions, your voice, wild movement, gentle movement, no movement etc etc...

The reason you're not getting much of a response, I suspect, is because of all of these... it's very embarrassing opening yourself up and letting all your 'stuff' hang out and shake around ( ) - to me and to other kunluners your video is exemplary of serene control compared with what happens with us...

Please do not film yourself doing Kunlun and put it on a public forum. It is from Sifu Jenny that I was told this art needs to be taught in person and if you show it on a public forum you are not being respectful of the teachers who passed it to you.

I know it's fun to share our art with other's. But this is the wish of Sifu Jenny who passed the spontaneous Kunlun on to Max. That one should only learn the art in person from Jenny or Max and only show the art to other's if they are a qualified instructor.

There is no such thing as teaching a health art that does not bolster a persons natural defenses.

Cam - I wouldn't 'teach' anything - even if I did film myself. I would've made sure not to show the K1 posture only the spontaneous movements that result.

I don't see spontaneous movement/shaking as 'our art' - it's available to everyone and anyone - K1 is indeed an 'our art' and I respect that and keep the posture 'secret' (or tell people to check Max's book out). Regarding spontaneous shaking - this is the oldest, most natural practice on earth, and if I can watch African Bushmen moving spontaneously, I don't see anything wrong with showing others.

Thanks Cam.

You show great respect to your teachers. :)

I've never directly shown or taught K to anyone and am not planning on it.

Well, even in the Shuichuan course you're not supposed to film yourself doing spontaneous movement. I had to take my video down that I posted here a while ago.

I can agree with the idea...the important thing is not what's happening on the outside, but what's happening on the inside. It can be misleading to show people your body moving which might make them think that's what you should strive for. Everyone's movement is different.

Also my energy wasn't calm enough, so showing that video kind of gives a bad transmission to anyone who watches it.

Just another perspective.

Of course. I wasn't speaking about any other practice but besides what Max and Jenny teach.[/b]

I am just passing on there wishes about the particular practice they teach. Sorry if I implied otherwise

I see my friend Spectrum also may have misunderstood me.

I am not speaking of any other spontaneous practice besides what is taught by Max.

And I am only bringing this up here now as I specifically asked Sifu Jenny about this at her workshop. And it is Sifu Jenny's wish-not mine-that the specific practice they teach be taught in person.

I don't have any opinion about this. Just passing on what Sifu Jenny told me. Of course do as you like in any case.

Dissappointing. Great PR. Spontaneous Police.

Just curious why people are so hellbent on seeing people do kunlun? You would only be glancing very superficially at another's experience and would get next to nothing from it. When you practice this regularly, it becomes a more personal thing as you get more in touch with yourself, you wind up doing what you need to do. Very subjective and experiential. Almost like sex, in a way. Y'all wont be seeing any joeblast porn
