To my thinking, the virtue of Taomeow´s horse is that it accurately reflects the astrological energy of the year: it actually looks like a Fire Horse. A rather nice one. Nungali´s horse makes me smile and, in it´s jokey childlike way, has some artistic flair.  The mischievious boy in me likes the idea that this image Nungali made for giggles could actually be our banner.  If we did make a poll, I suspect that Nungali´s image would have a surprisingy large "cult following."  But it´s not really a Fire Horse.

 

There´s a paradox that lies at the heart of what this forum is about.  We´re Tao Bums.  Which is to say that many of us are serious spiritual practitioners (that´s the Tao part), but, at the same time we´re also Bums. Most of us have a little of both of these qualities though proportions vary.  On a good day, I´m 30% serious Taoist, 70% Bum.  This likely explains my impish advocacy of Nungali´s image.  I suspect the final decision will be made by the adults in the room.

Yes, that would be easy to do.  It´s also possible to adjust the colors, brightness, etc.  All suggestions are welcome.

The image should reflect the Wu Xing element at play: Fire. 
 

Horse is ruled by Fire hence it is a double Fire Year which will eventually create a strong Earth Year: 1968 ruled by the Monkey. 1969 is Yin year also ruled by strong Earth due to the influence of the 1967 Goat Year which is a blend of Earth & Fire.

 

This is Taoism, a science.

 

Confucianism is also at stake here: we follow the advice of wise masters who know what they are talking about due to their profound experience on the subject matter.

So far all the Animals placed on the forum

banner starting from 2016 (Fire Monkey) have somehow reflected the spirit of the Year, which in 2026 is FIRE.

A couple of those Horses are good as well as the one I posted. Let the admin/mods people decide which one is going to be included in the forum banner.
