I don't think there's anything wrong with lofty Daoist Dreams like becoming immortal, but I'll admit: sometimes I do roll my eyes just a little.  It's just that often with these big dreams, the fantastical awesomeness of the goal can get in the way of the occasionally boring or painful or just plain not fun nature of the work.  It's tricky.  One has to balance aspiration with grounded and unglamorous willingness to take the next step,.

The unreachable dream will help center me on a path that on the long run will be beneficial for my own growth as a person.

The woes of ADHD and other issues demands outstanding motives to focus on.

Absolutely, and I congratulate you on your boldness, stating that intention of yours on a public forum (even if it's -- arguably -- a Daoist one).

 

And I agree with you that, in a sense, the way is the goal.

 

Will you actually reach the ultimate goal of becoming a powerful immortal? Will I? Is it even possible?

I won't pretend to be enlightened, to wish for more abstract and perhaps morally correct paths.

I'm still very much a normal person with normal desires.

Hahaha, it sounds like fun! Too many people take life too seriously. What is the point of just working each day to make ends meet, living a miserable life? I don't want to live in a world where I get reprobated for being lazy because I stop to sniff the flowers, because it is a lack of productivity. I want to live in a world where more people shout to the skies things like, "I want to be a xian!"

He used to claim he could fly faster than the speed of light, shoot lasers from his eyes, open portals to dimensions.  He talked about injecting magical drugs directly into his brain, having electric to qi converters to autofill his LDT, and all kinds of other grandiose stuff.  Maybe he's had a few years to calm down a bit?

I was curious what was being talked about and went to check this site.

 

I don't have a problem if people want to make wild claims, but I do when they start to put a price tag on things, specially when they have very little or nothing to show for it.

My natural reaction was a chuckle, because, something like this for Year 1 Semester 2 course work would naturally be attractive to certain sorts of personalities.  However, I'm reserving judgement because my creative mind can imagine many non-literal meanings for what this coursework could possibly entail.
