Now after seeing thus far, I think Jonesboy has successfully shown some data contradicting effectively the doomsday predictions. So the Taoist suggestion would be to do nothing.

The first Earth Summit, the venue, was Rio de Janeiro, which is just gorgeous, fantastic nightlife, beaches and hookers.

Nice choice !

The ego-people of Earth are always declaring emergencies which they promise to fix, then they never happen.

It's a good thing the Earth is so resilient with all the imagination going on.
Existence has its own rules and ideas, and is not very interested in the dramas of a silly sub-group of the top-monkeys.

I've lived under the threat of North Korea most my life, and seen how many meetings where the "world leaders" sit in expensive hotels in the Alps, with Champagne on tap, and then stand shoulder to shoulder to make a "joint declaration" about it.

Then Donald Trump picks up the phone and organises a meeting and fixes the whole thing in a few weeks.

A lot of human dramas are really stupid aren't they.

I am not predicting doomsday, but understand the science. Jonesboy just cuts/pasted a lot of disparate graphs and many fall for such nonsense. No matter what you believe, cry or whine about, humans are the cause of AGW and the biosphere will continue to have extreme weather events. That is a fact!!

There is the graph cherry-picked to show an upward trend. That just cannot go by unheeded.

The blooming time is spurious but the report demonstrated, what looks to me to be, doom and gloom erroneous news.

There is strong reason to doubt ,and numbers of adherents is a bogus means to determine who handled the data legit so as to relate the truth rather than prop up a ploy. Like for UFOs each person has their own motive to report.

I call this the Alchemy of DeNile as the origins of the global warming ecological crisis goes back 10,000 years with what archaeologists call the "symbolic revolution" when anthropocentric symbols developed as geometric rectilinear math to "contain infinity" via patriarchy (plow-based monocultural wheat farming).

So as for the future of global warming - two aspects make this a "case closed" scenario: the East Siberian Arctic Shelf "methane bomb" and the Global Dimming Effect. Quite amazingly these two factors are hardly known about at all in our current fake paradigm of debate regarding this ecological crisis. What is really at hand is the expose that left brain and right hand dominance defined reality (aka modern science) is inherently doomed. So that means there will be endless debate and distractions and even the scientists being depicted as eco-socialists or whatever - their supposed "biases" are also too little, too late.

There is an excellent lecture on youtube by physics professor Albert Bartlett, "Arithmetic, Population and Energy." He gave this SAME lecture over 1000 times during his life. What he points out is what I call the "surplus value of consciousness" that has created the "trajectory of tantric technology." Essentially Bartlett points out that modern industrial civilization promotes and relies on exponential growth with the exponential function as the inverse of the logarithmic function. We all learn the logarithmic function by 14 years or so  - the Pythagorean Theorem. It is the origin of Western science as the "Greek Miracle" - and yet the Pythagorean Theorem aka "The Power Set Axiom" is actually a logical lie. I call this the "Liar of the Lyre" since the logarithmic irrational magnitude math originates from the wrong music theory.

The correct music theory is based on "noncommutative phase" as complementary opposites aka Daoist philosophy. So it is inherently against Western symmetric-based logic of the past - at least 5000 years. As math professor Abraham Seidenberg points out - this "divide and average" math was used to center the chariot wheels but originates from religious sacrifice altars - that he promotes as the Separation of Heaven and Earth (the opposite of Daoism as Freemasonry). So even on this website most people want to assimilate Daoism into Western esotericism based on Platonic philosophy of irrational magnitude math (the Golden Ratio as Freemasonry).

So the ecological crisis is not only accelerating and inevitable (I realized we are doomed back in the mid-90s) - but also it is hard-wired into our left-brain and right-hand dominant physiology.  This means even so-called "debate" about this issue is inherently doomed. As Professor Bartlett exposed - the math is wrong. We define reality based on the wrong symmetric logic that we consider to be inherently "rational." People don't understand what logical inference is based on noncommutative phase - aka real Daoist philosophy or Orthodox Pythagorean philosophy - this is real nonwestern philosophy that was our dominant culture from before 10,000 years ago - for the original human culture from 70,000 years ago, the San Bushmen original humans that we are all from. This is modeled by nonwestern music theory and is as simple as (2, 3, infinity) to quote Fields Medal math professor Alain Connes.

Yes I have an undergraduate degree in an "environmental option" of International Relations - so I got a certificate in sustainable development and conservation biology from the School for Field Studies in Costa  Rica (semester, 1992 from University of Wisconsin-Madison). Then I did a master's degree studying sustainability and philosophy of science. I worked for Citizens for a Better Environment as my first full-time job in 1989 - and then for Greenpeace and University of Wisconsin Greens, and organic food production and distribution, and social justice human rights nonprofits and did volunteer organizing and civil disobedience - and worked for Clean Water Action for 10 years. So I have a lot of work experience that makes me "biased." haha.

In no way do I think that modern humans can survive - and also our situation will accelerate. A good blog on this global warming crisis is http://arctic-news.blogspot.com

The East Siberian Arctic Shelf methane problem has been observed by Russian scientists for decades. With the melting of the subsea permafrost as well as surface permafrost, methane hydrate releases CH4 into the atmosphere which adds to the greenhouse effect.

Methane hydrate will combust.

Yes I corresponded with the science director of the National Snow and Ice Data Center - Dr. Mark Serreze. He at first said that he thought an "abrupt methane eruption" in the arctic was "sensationalism" and he handed me off to his "senior research scientist." So I presented the quotes from Natalia Shakhova - and this scientist then stated he was not an expert on arctic methane. So a year later then Dr. Mark Serreze was quoted in the UK Guardian stating the warming in the arctic was not "crazy crazy." So I emailed him again. This time he admitted that Natalia Shakhova was the world's expert on arctic methane. Then he sent me one of her papers - it was the same one I had sent him a year before (and so not even her latest paper).

Now consider that I am just an unpaid internet troll. That is his CAREER! How come he has not alerted the world to the methane crisis in the arctic? Well it's a huge cover up. USGS just ignores the largest ocean shelf in the world - the East Siberian Arctic Shelf. Shakhova's work has been corroborated by a team of international scientists. She continues to keep publishing research on the area. Nothing has changed - only the methane levels are accelerating - even over this winter! So there has been significant methane releases this winter - record high levels in fact.

So yes the ice volume in the arctic is over 75% lower than normal - and the ice freezing this winter was very slow. So as Natalia Shakhova emphasizes - when the arctic goes ice free - called a Blue Ocean Event - then yes the Methane bomb will go off and so global warming levels will double worldwide - also due to the loss of albedo (the earth's air conditioner).  So in just the next few years we will experience something that has not happened in over 3 million years - an ice-free arctic. Also the rate of warming now is faster than any previous time - the CO2 emissions rate. The oceans have absorbed the warming so far but that is not really happening much anymore.

And it's locked in - meaning that Global Dimming is localized - so that India and China are significantly cooler because they burn so much coal. So if they switch to renewables - along with anyone else - the renewables reduce the sulfur aerosols and so stop the Global Dimming Effect - meaning that causes the planet to warm even further - another 1 to 2 degrees celsius. And that is an "average" - so the interior of the continents - the "bread baskets" of modern civilization - they will all be too hot to grow food - very soon. Way sooner than the current "predictions" of mainstream science that ignores both the Methane Bomb of ESAS and the Global Dimming Effect.

"“Virtually all the climate models assume there’s no or very little emission of methane when the ground is frozen,” Oechel said. “That assumption is incorrect.”

The water trapped in the soil doesn’t freeze completely even below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius), he explained. The top layer of the ground, known as the active layer, thaws in the summer and refreezes in the winter, and it experiences a kind of sandwiching effect as it freezes.

When temperatures are right around 32 degrees Fahrenheit — the so-called “zero curtain” — the top and bottom of the active layer begin to freeze, while the middle remains insulated. Microorganisms in this unfrozen middle layer continue to break down organic matter and emit methane many months into the Arctic’s cold period each year.

"

Oechel and Zona stressed the importance for modelers to have good baseline data on methane emissions and to adjust their models to account for Arctic cold-season methane emissions as well as the contributions of non-wetland areas, including upland tundra.

“It is now time to work more closely with climate modelers and assure these observations are used to improve model predictions, and refine our prediction of the global methane budget,” Zona said."

Yes! In terms of food crop production, as you know, there is a very narrow adaptive range in terms of growing season length, temperature and light, in which any change in one of those variables can either, reduce production, or result in total crop failure.

In terms of warmer ocean temperatures, warmer water has less O2 which lowers pH levels to a slightly more acidic solution (greater hydrogen ion concentration) in which crustaceans are unable to utilize calcium to form shells. Warmer water decreases phytoplankton population which produces half the planets O2. The other half is produced by all other plant life.

Research in the area of phytoplankton is being conducted by Dr. Andrew Barton.

If everyone on a ship knows their place, then the toilet cleaner cleans the toilet, the sailmaker makes the sails, and the captain drives the boat.   Then everyone makes it.    The captain can do all the other jobs on the ship, hence he is a captain.   The toilet cleaner can don only one job.   The sailmaker can do several jobs.   There is a natural hierarchy based on everyone's actual capacity.

But, there are some toilet cleaners who wish to not do their job, and they see that they can gain some level of power by spreading the idea that "nobody is better than you", and "why should anybody except you become captain".   The toilet cleaners gain some sort of power in a parasitical manner they parasite the entire system.

Then, everybody dies.

This is why it is taught by the great teachers that strong action needs to be taken, because the rot starts to take hold it is difficult to clean out

Now you live on a boat and it is too late.  Nobody wishes to do their job, nobody even imagines anyone can be better then them.   They all want a say, and then they want a group hug, then they all die on the boat.

Quote from the Tao-Te-Ching 75. "People's Starvation," "Only those who do not contrive to live are wise in valuing life."

I live my life moment by moment, event by event, as best as I am able. I hope to bring to light, perhaps as a 'sailmaker,' that looking down to our support system aught be valued by the 'captains' among us.

Take the proposed wall of Mexico as an issue. Does President Trump enjoy bratwurst? As a neutral party having not voted for or against his entitlement ( I still voted; I am able to omit votes in my state ), I would like to remind our 'top monkey' that more than likely illegal immigrants were the food service workers packaging and processing his glorious sausage.

Giu Fu Feng's 75 : Having little to live on, one knows better than to value life too much.

My opinion of Trump is that if you remove his head he is sound from the neck down, in other words his animal is sound and it follows the natural way.  For most politicians they are ego, and the entire structure does not correspond to reality.

His wall idea is an expression of his understanding that society needs structure and protection, which is a correct idea.

Also he appears to be somebody with great discipline.   For instance after his brother died of alcoholism he vowed never to drink and he has kept that vow.   Also he had several years of military academy.
So, that is very good, and such hard work and discipline leads to inner truth .... but his outside and his head are ugly also true.

He has proved himself capable of building and building big, and a family too.   Who can say that ?

These social ideas correspond to the laws of reality applied to human society.  However each person has an individual relationship to God / Existence / Tao, and the ways of "men" are well known to God.   So if you do your job correctly and follow the Way then what will not be given to you ?   This life is short, at the end most are straw dogs.   It would be better for them if life was simpler than they could express the simple creation of a farmer, but even that has been destroyed and now most life like hungry ghosts in degeneration.
Certainly the dictator has not earnt any position.
Cometh the hour cometh the man.   To be or not to be.  Life has given you time, and in the end what will you have made ?

In this world of degeneration will you choose to understand and follow the true way so that your life at least corresponds to reality?

Perhaps it was like this for all humans and always will be, a test.

The issue has become my own reflection of experience and decision. I pretend not to carry the office of a great man, I am of farmer's ancestry. Allow me some time to consider whether the response to your difficult question would gain value within your mind.

Literal life is only literally read. The way evokes life actual to each own experience. To convey my risks that I've taken on my person would be difficult to do, as I do not even realize them as risks at the time, for I take a savior past present and future as Jesus The Christ.

Well then you have chosen wisely, and he himself was like a sailmaker, a carpenter, and such small work with the hands leads to great knowledge and skill, and so you may contribute to life, and be appreciated by life for your efforts.

Being of farming ancestry is of great benefit, because then ground is solid beneath your feet .... it is a rarer thing these days.

I have found it difficult to comprehend life but in the end I choose to attempt to follow the way and be a worthy part of existence, as best as possible.   And one day it will be over.

What the methane bomb means is this:

10C-18F-stack.png

The aerosols is global dimming effect from increased amount of renewable energy.

So even the so-called "solution" is making the problem worse.

Methane Bomb is the "seafloor methane" - not just permafrost.
