The Brexit Thread

The second referendum is getting closer - but what goes on the ballot paper

PLUS

May is thinking about having the vote on her deal next week - knowing it'll get voted down - in order to move things on.

Farage seems to be calling for second referendum knowing the strength of public opinion against the EU.

What they might justify - speculatively - is a choice between Brexit deal and Brexit no deal - i.e. remain not on ballot paper.  So for instance if the Commons reject May's deal and March is looming - and there is a big majority (including Labour) against No Deal Brexit.  They put the choice back to the people.

Well all the media outlets are saying that a much smaller number of protesters are on the streets of Paris but I'm not sure how true that is? Seems there's quite a few.

EDIT: The RT streams are switching from several different cameras.

EDIT 2: Apparently there's a massive police presence!

EDIT 3: Well apparently it is quiet and that's perhaps due to the weather!

Difficult to make headway when everyone on all sides insincere and lost.

Then even if win or lose, not sure if win or lose.

Real problem is not even known.

I'm definitely up for a second referendum. It's strange, but I feel it could be done in a really good way with everyone having now a clear idea of the consequences of the  outcomes. There would be no spurious lies and, if written well, the people could give really clear instructions on how to progress.

But

how on earth is a well balanced representative ballot paper going to prepared. I think we ignore the Canada and Norway options and go - Hard Brexit / May's Deal / Remain. As these are all clearly agreed on terms (well kind of, hard Brexit would still require more negotiation once we've left, but the basis is fairly clear).

However, I'm a remainer and I think parliament will bias it in favour of this i.e. get rid of the hard Brexit option. This would statisfy my own desires, but would not be all that fair.

It would a hard sell to have another Referendum and certainly one which has 'Remain' on the ticket.  And even tho' I voted Remain last time I have to say I do think that the first referendum has to be honoured otherwise it will be betrayal.  Which leaves the question not 'do we leave' but 'how do we leave' - and that's either May's deal or No deal - as neither Norway or Canada are on offer as far as I know.  I think this will arise in the following way - parliament votes out May's deal at which point she presents 'no deal exit' to Parliament and they vote that down too.  At which point impasse - a general election would not necessarily solve this, but a binding referendum would.  I have no idea if this will happen but it might.

Hard Brexit is best, but only for people who are alive and who's balls are alive.

Otherwise what is best for sheep ?  Maybe be quiet and let Merkel be shepherd.

Problem is sheep really wolves who taking break to be slobs ... one day will find out not happy then bad smell everywhere.

I was thinking about Engerland and maybe it is idea Taoist country, open valley for all naughty things like banking, services (total lies an pretence economy) and just keep being valley for any crazy shit that arrives, all transgender and very strange weird people, then just keep letting all idiots into an out of country.

Then country survives and keeps flowing.

Strange mix always creates new ideas and strange people who make next strange English thing.

In evening can secretly puke at degeneration, but daytime have work and everyone likes you.

The world learns English, not realising it is pirate language, things very polite have Earl Grey tea, but Earl Grey naughty old man with dogging tendencies.
Who knows.

Strange tale.

During bad smelly storm, better not freak out, just chill, one day storms passes.   Even bad smells have place in nature, who knows why.  Keep head down.  In evening cry privately then snap out of it and get shit together.

It certainly looks as though a second referendum is very much on the cards and this would certainly be welcomed by the E.U. who love continuous referendums until they get the result that suits them.

Were there a second referendum then I believe that it will result in a vote to remain within the fold. The Government have made such an abomination of leaving that the common herd are fast losing the will to live and would probably prefer to be ruled by Brussels rather than London.

Were that the case we would still however have a large part of the population (The Brexiteers) left feeling angry and disefranchised.

Following the referendum we could have a General Election resulting in a Corbynista government. That would be a real double whammy for the country.

Shifting Sands

Many people are coming out today against a second referendum and there is, right now, just not the majority in parliament to vote for this.

When May's deal gets voted down, the default position is hard Brexit ...

Well all this uncertainty seems to be helping the Brexiteers camp as more people seem to be losing faith in the government to do anything other than serve buSINess! You get people being interviewed about how it's going to effect their buSINess and most are cherry picked to tell a story of doom and gloom if we leave without a deal. Of course some buSINess are looking forward to trading with the rest of the planet but we don't hear much from them, strange that!

So let's have no doubt that it's big buSINess that will loose especially CEO's that have been paid off over the years with ginormous bonuses. We also have the unknown aspect of how many MP's are being blackmailed or leaned on financially to tow the line! The media seems really biased towards remain which again smacks of dodgy goings on.

Where's the daily positives of leaving and trading with the rest of the world? OK so Jeremy Hunt is now standing up saying a no deal Brexit is nothing to fear but he's doing this while saying I want to be PM! Bonkers!! Well at least he's got bigger balls than Boris the tosser!

It's like a bad dream as this whole process should have been fairly easy. If nothing else the scum have outed themselves and won't be forgotten very soon.

It was always going to be like this.  Brexit was such a shock to the system of the establishment, they still haven't recovered.

It's odd that the only places that seem secure are the hard right and hard left.  The centre is just shifting sand with everyone positioning themselves for a win - though I'm not sure becoming PM any time soon would be much of a win.

When you accept that the media are for the most part of a Left Wing Liberal or Socialist mindset then you expect nothing other than the peddling of the Remainer viewpoint. I am not convinced that the Brexiteers camp is being helped by the uncertainty as all I am hearing at the moment is the justification for a further referendum.

The multi nationals will favour the E.U. and those M.P.'s that are in the pocket of Big Business will shout out with the Remainers. The desire to feather ones own nest will always come before the desire to do what is in the national interest or the interests of ones constituents.

It should have been fairly easy were the show not being run by a bunch of Remainers. You should not think for a moment that the good people of this land will have learned anything from the behaviour of their politico's. The common herd have short memories and even shorter attention spans. Prime Drip May will continue to draw her Prime Ministers salary for life.

"A ‘Public Duties Cost Allowance’ exists “to assist former Prime Ministers with the costs of continuing to fulfil duties associated with their previous position in public life. The allowance, worth £148,500, is technically available for a lifetime."

She will also doubtless take up office in the House of Lords to further milk the system.

As I have mentioned before I still believe that a further referendum is on the cards and that it would most likely result in a "Stay" vote. This would be followed by a General Election where the Corbynista's would carry the day plunging the country into a Marxist cess pit.
