How to die?

Recommended Posts

I could sum it all up in saying that the "life is meaningless" thread is oh-so-wrong from my point of view. Life is Sacred and we walk in a Sea of Light. There are things that we can only accomplish here. It is all about raising the energy body vibration rate, practicing Virtue, and aligning oneself with the Sacred. Then Dance in the Wu Wei and do the best you can in finding and fulfilling your destiny.

Beautify said, life is sacred ..

It is important to appreciate life as if we were living our last breath.

Nice thread!

It reminded me of how I killed of an entire beehive in my kitchen.

Atleast you did not cause the death of the Raven.

Hi H,

I think about your Bees thread a lot too. I don't know though as the last bit of effect (i.e. the last car moving) was caused by my presence. I know it's pointless to think like that, but I just knew that would happen. Frustrated, sad, and with misplaced guilt. Perhaps similar to how you also feel?

And yes, a Raven :) We tend not to call them that here, a much more majestic and powerful word befitting such a fine creature. It makes me smile to think of it's spirit so. Thank you.

And Hi Mouse, yes bikes are way cool B) and often found in the company of martial artists too. Thanks for the link.

As well as ~JK~ I always enjoy your posts.

i think this question is essential...

because, if you don't know how to die, all your life's achievements could be gone in an instant...

we're supposed to rehearse death in meditation...

in m chia's system, is what you do in the fusion of the five elements, the fifth formula...

the next formulas consist in transferring the work of your life inside this etherical vehicle...

in kan and li 1 you learn to give birth to a higher vehicle...

in kan and li 2 a higher vehicle...

and so on...

the higher the capacity of the vehicle, the wider the range of posibilities, and the larger the amount of achievements you could carry to the mid-plane...

edit: you also learn how to depart in it in a fraction of a second... even if you are having an accident... it is very different from normal astral travel, because you have this practice where you Grow new possibilities to the astral body... it's not the highest level thou, but it's more in our range than anything else. personally, i think for me many things will occur in the mid-plane stage of existance, many things that i had not the time or energy do develop in this life. the tricky part is, i need to learn how to transfer enough materia prima

without it, out there, there is too little that we can do...

Hi Mal,

Cbr1000rr here! Bikes are good fun.

Anyway onto your question I think it is an important one and I just chanced upon an article that resounded very much with me which I thought I'd share.

Good topic!

I like the posted article.

The article is short and I would like to read more. Could anyone advise where I can read more about the stages of awakening?

Thanks Mal, I think we all try to add to Sean's mind candy shop, You make a good mint as well :P .

Back to your dead crow ...

A view that Carl G. Jung (he wrote the 80 page Commentary to The Secret of the Golden Flower Willhelm/Baynes translation) had of our actions was that we 'intend' to do whatever we do/did. AKA: we make no mistakes. Illnesses are aquired conciously as well as unaquired the same way. Jung actually became a bit famous as this has become a method used in psychoanalyticalanalysis

This is to say that if a person runs a red light and is killed - they did it because they were suicidal. Many of the Chinese see this way as well - So I would think there are a lot of DNR (do not resuscitate) signs hanging over hospital beds...

Just maybe your crow was ready to go. Crows have minds, desires and the associated as well.

Hey - some of my best friends are birds - you wouldn't believe all the stuff they tell me.

Interesting you should bring up the bike point...

I was actually considering coming back as a bicycle seat 4 a few daze.

But for sone unknown reason I took a different view when I saw the hole picture.

I still really like bikes (I prefer Raleigh Hybyrds W a skinny tire up front, a fat X tire in back and a f52 - r11 tooth gear ratio)

tibetan buddhism explains that falling asleep mimicks the dying process....

in any case.....a student should focus in daily meditations the clear light of the pure mind.....

it will be the first thing he will see after leaving the physical realm during the first days....

if he is confused and does not realize it..... for what it is... he will begin the reincarnation process.....

there are other opportunities....to achive liberation...they are described in the bardo thodol....

I have thought about this issue a lot as well, Mal! I guess even in a way I anticipate my dying because it will be when my beliefs are put to the test. Do I put my money where my mouth is, when the chips are down at the end of the day and the cards are on the table, or do I just cry and be scared. ;)

When I thought I was going to die, in the distant past once when getting ( literally )washed out to sea, ( this was before I consciously found taoism ), my feelings and thoughts werent about my actual demise, but about how awful it was going to be for my mother to have her youngest daughter die. I actually felt very calm on my own behalf, but not happy that her fate was to have such a damaging event happen to her.

Nowadays, I feel strongly what Ya Mu says

Life is Sacred and we walk in a Sea of Light
and I think we die as we live. I hope in the moments approaching my death that I would be able to stay heart centred and firmly located in my body with lower dt solid and kidney energy solid, and liver energy staying in the liver.

And with an attitude of gratitude.

Should be quite an adventure...:)

Why should death be any different from birth?

Actually if you really want to know what will happen and what it is like - study the Savasana:

Here is the method:

there is a book written by geshe kelsang gyatso (tantric master) explaining the technique. short:

try to press the "winds, red and white drops" at the point of your navel chakra into the central channel and move all up and shoot out on top end of your head the moment you die.

hopefully as a taosit practitioner one will have by one means or the other already internalised this process so that it is what happens automatically on one's moment of death, if one has not allowed one's hun and po to scatter.

not allowing one's hun and po to scatter is a technique we practice via taoism, each day.

so we have to stay present in the dao at death, basically.

easy peasy.:D

You can only go there -to know what will happen and what it is like- with the Savasana:

All else can only be conjecture and laziness.

With it, you will break free of literaly eons of religious conditioning.
