A lot of inferred rationalizing, zero context. I could quote a line out of context referencing the AMA summoning a demon in the Illuminatus trilogy and someone might use that to justify their belief RAW was a demon summoning Satanist. what book would you recommend from Robert Anton Wilson? i am interested in reading some of his books Edited January 31, 2024 by Kojiro

Cadcam Posted 22 hours ago Do what thou wilt doesn't mean do as you like, it means do that which is in your will to do. I think deeper than that it refers to a rite magicians take when they declare their will to the universe

My own view is that multiple wills exist in the human format. For example, many have difficulty stopping eating a favorite food. Others are greedy for power. At a more abstract level, it is useful to distinguish the personal will from the transpersonal will

I don't think this is a good example of will, that is more an example of lack of will.

That is normal everyday 'will' not 'wilt' as is considered in the meaning of the phrase ( that is, the phrase which is the title of this thread ) . The 'will ' is multi faceted or just multiple , as you observe - as the 'self' is . Without integration of wills and selves , we are an unruly mess of drives, 'purposes' and . sometimes conflicting , wills .. Even with the concept of the 'True Will ' ( which is the 'will' referred to in the phrase ) one must be mindful and respecting of 'transpersonal will ' ... that is 'beyond your own person ' as ; if ( and especially 'magically' ) one affirms the importance of enacting one's True Will , then one must give the same right to others .... otherwise ... well, that's just selfish, greed , even 'personal fascism ' .
