Beyond there rote paranoia, I think Icke and Alex Jones conspiracy theories dumb things down. Like extreme Fundamentalist view of all science where the answer to every question is: Cause thats the way God made it.

 

With them you have the very simplistic, its cause the Illuminati did it. You don't need to know the motivations/history/movements of the various countries/religions/leaders/movements. Everything is dumbed down, its even pre-ordained. Can any regular listener of them be surprised that any terrorist event isn't an Illuminati job? It has to be, the answer is always 'They did it'. Too simplistic.

true, but what's dumbed down is the official stories with a lot of this. the official versions contain so much fabrication and unanswered questions that a curious mind simply has to look elsewhere if they want to answer the questions that the official story leaves unanswered. I mean whether its a building dropping in its own footprint from...an office fire....or whether its a fully conscious man in a wheelchair being wheeled along with someone casually pinching their fibular artery, nevermind those kids that left with the backpacks they came with...nevermind what happened at this or that site, we need to destroy it immediately...

 

that's why I put that quote of john kerry lamenting the presence of the internet - information gets out to people now that the government cant control - makes it hard to govern? my left butt cheek, it makes it hard to snow job the populace and give them some cockamamie story off the top of someone's head that doesnt bother covering all the facts.

Watching the events of 9/11 unfold on the Idiot Box I had a feeling it was an inside job, and 13 yrs later remain of the same opinion.
