  1. Damo Mitchell Free MCO Course

So in other words: Is the ultimate answer to sit in meditation for a few hours every day for a few years? I read part of "Opening the Dragon Gate" recently, and it seems like that is what Wang Li Ping did to start out.
  2. Damo Mitchell Free MCO Course

@Shadow_self: Why do you prefer Damo over Brine? @freeform: Why the reservations with Wang Li Ping?
  3. Energy gone wrong and the path back

What are some exercises that work at the tendon/bone level?
  4. Not to sound like a jerk, but: The site says the head instructor is a "Christian mystic". Why study Daoism from a Christian mystic?
  5. looking for a book about tibet

Not to be flip, but don't most books about Tibet deal with magic and reincarnation?
  6. Do you have a blog or a website?

Starjumper7 used to post here a lot. I think he got kicked off of here. Then for a while he seemed to be posting at originaldao.com. I don't know if he started that site or just posted a lot there. So it's the third forum for him.
  7. Do you have a blog or a website?

I haven't looked it over either, but it looks like there are a lot of posts by starjumper7. I guess he started a third forum.
  8. Feedback about 小梦想's neigong seminar?

I don't have a computer with a camera on it. I think I will get a tablet in the next few weeks and do the seminars next year.
  9. Teaching authentic neigong

Try this site (link is for Central Time, but you can change it): https://savvytime.com/converter/china-beijing-to-il-chicago
  10. Chundi mantra

Reading through this thread, I get the impression that if you do this mantra for a while it's good for you. But every time you start up again it seems to cause you a lot of discomfort at first. Why do you stop? Why not just keep going? And does restarting Chundi ever get easier for anyone?
  11. Teaching authentic neigong

I am also interested in this.
  12. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo

About a decade ago, I repeated this (mentally) while meditating. I was unemployed, and after a few weeks of NMRK, I got a job. Coincidence? Perhaps..... I am also on the mailing list for Sanskrit Mantras, run by Thomas Ashley-Farrand's widow. She said that NMRK is good for clearing the 2nd chakra, but it not a good all-purpose mantra.
  13. Teaching authentic neigong

Maybe you covered this: But will this be a one-time only event? Or do you plan on doing this a few times a year?
  14. "The Grand Circle" says that it is "advanced qigong". Did you jump right into that course, or did you do "Health & Fighting Qigong" first?
  15. Teaching authentic neigong

You mention that some in-person teaching would be necessary at some point. How would this work? Would I go to you, or vice versa? And where are you located? Would you schedule a group of people to come to you to save costs, like a "Neigon-Con"? Also: This does interest me. I started a qigong practice here in Austin, TX a couple of years ago. I would like to go for perhaps another year before trying an additional practice.
  16. @Nuralshamal Thanks for the response. How did you learn these styles of qigong? Did you do then online, DVD, in-person?
  17. My experience with Spring Forest Qigong

    What is this referring to?
  18. @Nuralshamal How many qigong styles have you worked with and for how long? You seem to be posting a lot of these review-type posts lately.
  19. What are some "derivatives" of Chia's work? Are there any instructors who were taught by him who are well-known?
  20. Chanting

One more thing: I should point out that I don't actually chant a mantra. I just repeat it mentally, using that instead of watching my breath. I usually have a hard time just watching my breath without controlling it.
  21. Chanting

the last time I did it I was unemployed, and then I got a job. Maybe it is a coincidence. Now I need a new job. Perhaps I will try one of the "abundance" mantras in Thomas Ashley-Farrand's books.
  22. Chanting

Lately I have been using it. I am trying to meditate more often. I started using mantras to help motivate me to stick with it. I have a rough guess of how many I can do in a minute and keep track of how many repetitions I have done. Now I am on day 200 of meditating ever day. I started "nam myoho renge kyo" about 50 days ago. "Nam myoho renge kyo" hasn't seemed to have much of an effect on me. I plan on doing it until I get to about 125,000, then going to another one. I tried "om vajarapani hum" for a few days, and I did feel different.
  23. Dealing with the dark side

It's called "imprecatory prayer". It's a thing amongst the wingnut crowd. Google "imprecatory prayer Obama" for a few samples.
  24. No gods, then no humans

For some reason, the formatting in my reply to Paradoxal was messed up. To repeat: How do you contact these beings? Do you do it through some form of meditation/astral projection? Or does it happen spontaneously? Or some combination?
