sinking to dan tien

Recommended Posts

Hello, I think now, that the root of all chi kung skill is sinking the weight to dan tien. If the center of the weight is properly in dan tien, channels will start to open up themselves and the back rises properly. This could be the solution for anyone training in chi kung and getting in to problems. Any drills/techniques/tips to train this? Right now I have some problem in having chi in dan tien.

Thank you!

I would say using the mind is always a good place to start, that and abdominal breathing.

Sitting meditation perhaps would be advised.

I've used both sitting and standing meditation and found that standing meditation (along with proper spinal alignment) to be the superior method for sinking the chi. FYI ... it feels like something literally dropped from your back when it happens. (AT least that was my experience.)
