Epi Christmas

And an Epi New Pen.

(Saw it on the news today -- there's a legal battle unfolding to equip medical first responders with EpiPens nationwide. )

P.S.  Pens are on my mind in conjunction with longevity of late, seen information (and believed what I saw for once) that one of the best ways to protect/preserve one's brain later in life is to write in longhand.  Apparently this activates three times as many neural connections as clicking keys or finger-poking screens.  And of course it's got to be a fountain pen (personal opinion, corroborated by aficionados.)  So I hunted down on ebay and bought this present for my vintage brain:

tobaco is nightshade, so that makes sense. there are lots of other chemicals in nightshade too. like solanine, which is poisonous and also keeps insects away. thats why you shouldnt eat green tomatoes, at least in abundace, nor smoke them for that matter...

We were not talking about other chemicals; we were specifically speaking nicotine.

I like avocado but let’s face it, a cigar is a smoke.

George Burns famously smoked cigars daily. Lived to 100.

Che Guevara famously smoked cigars and didn't make it to 50.

So ymwv, I'm no doctor, and am not prescribing or diagnosing here. I doubt it was cigar smoking that finished off Che Guevara.

Maybe, stirring up revolutions in South America was the culprit

So, a word to those who strive for longevity, don't go and get yourself executed.

Nicotine & caffeine for me. This morning, some Egg Nog, idk, if it's healthy or not. I did add a dollop of 12 year old Weller.

Happy Holidays!

I get my rest and good sleep. And the 90 proof special reserve won't be added at lunch, dinner, or just snacking around.

Plus, I like to get something accomplished, early in the day, so I carry that sense of accomplishment through the day.

The grey cat clan, including one black, one calico, plus the 5 grey ones that have managed to remain here, have been feasting on roasted turkey breast for two days

No wonder, I live in abject poverty...

Heheh

I know some of ya'lls like to follow the "science"

I used to watch this channel, if you do follow science, then you are aware, that it changes. Shouldn't be any surprise, as all things change.

Still, I found this guy easy to listen to.

There are many many others out there reading the research papers and regurgitating it for you. You are sure to find one or more that Appeal to you.

Without good physical, energetics, mental, Spiritual health, longevity would be more a curse than a benefit.

Couldn't agree more. I work in an hospital in the north of the UK where there are many 90 and even 100 year olds surprisingly very fit...physically. Besides genetics I think it must be the oats consumed daily for many decades. Unfortunately most of these people have been demented since their 70's.

Dementia is a terrible disease which I would compare to drug addiction, it destroys everything in its surroundings. I would blame mostly a culture of heavy alcohol consumption.

You know it’s a big deal in England what’s north or not.

I don’t make the rules.

No, it isn't easy. I agree with that. To be honest altough I'm aware that language is a living thing and evolves and surely can't be locked I am like you very conservative with it but just got tired of trying to win that war.

Sorry I don’t really follow you - but all good.  It’s an English obsession as to what is the North/ South which goes back to the Wessex/Danelaw division more than 1000 years ago.

I am English but I live in Portugal. Oak is Portuguese but lives in England.  It’s a kind of yin yang non duality thing.
