Is there unnecessary suffering?

Recommended Posts

repeated suffering with the same hard lesson is not necessary unless we haven't learned the lesson...

Garbage dump not good place to live, I stayed in one once .... as a guest of its residents .

and dumped asbestos in the kids playground

and the school yard .

not really due to the fact that they lived in poverty ...  more that they were Aboriginal  ( this was a 'special deal' set up for them ;

"We create employment for  you,  make 'nice house' , build your kids a school ... dont live in the 'bush'  * , come live here, we make you 'civilised'  (  ... and we got a job for you ! "  )

*  the 'bush' and the 'poverty' they were extracted from :

Hi Nungali,

The Aboriginals are the AbORIGINALS of their Mother Land.

By taking away more - such a woman has lost more of her/himself?

Is there suffering which are unnecessary? I strognly believe there is and my life experience definitely suggests so, but

when i think about it i cant seem to find suffering that dosnt contain within them thier duality of feeling good.

Lets take a more obvious example: worrying, and even better worrying about being worry.

This clearly generates some unnecessary suffering but dosnt this greater pain hides within itself joy like any other pain/suffering? and in this case greater joy because of greater suffering.

My question than is: How can you possibly increase the amount of "positive" feelings in your life without increasing suffering aswell? or in other words whats the point in not worrying so much?

Clearly im missing something and i dont think there is no difference if you worry or not :)

(Dont get hung up on the worrying its just an example for suffering in general)

No.

Life energy is positive good that which makes you live an move. Understand. The spark can never fully be snuffed out because of its nature. It will reach a point where the suffering cant effect it which is beyond yin an yang. Understand.

So many talk about  life force but misunderstand the actual nature of life which cant be destroyed because it is life itself. Understand.

Yeah, it's stuff like this that sometimes makes me think that Socialism might be a better way of directing a society.  That is to say, a better way of distributing the wealth of the planet.

What he earns in one minute is enough to feed two children who are suffering for lack of food for a year.

But then I think of the many other aspects of socialism and say "Forget it".

Are you sure about that?  Life force, life energy is, in my understanding, Chi.  The energy of the universe.

When this energy enters an object there is life.  When it leaves a living object life no longer exists within that object.

True that as long as the universe exists the life force will exist.  But it won't exist in all objects.

And true, when Chi leaves a living object suffering no longer exists.  That's because the object is dead.

Reminds me of the Zhuangtzu: "Be content with this time and dwell in this order and then neither sorrow nor joy can touch you. In ancient times this was called the `freeing of the bound.'" The escape from sorrow involves the escape from joy as well. The two are interconnected.

I believe the key to ending suffering is had by achieving contentment, and removing the dichotomy of "positive" and "negative" feelings.

Since "What is and what is not create each other" the "negative" feelings are understood by yourself in relation and contrast to the "positive" ones. Therefore by defining the "positive", one experiences the "negative".

Hi Alchemical Walrus,

I guess an apple tree is always "positive". Why? It only gives apples.

Hi Nungali,

The Aboriginals are the AbORIGINALS of their Mother Land.

What does that mean ?  '  Motherland ' ... where one was born ,  where one's ethnicity differentiated   or where we 'originated' ?

Interesting comment though , you removed the 'ab' *   and added mother   land

Ab (أَب), from a theoretical, abstract form ʼabawun ' is Arabic for father.

In Aramaic father is אבא (abba) ... and Hebrew ;  אבא‎, "father"

Some of the Koori ( Australian  Aboriginals)  I have associated with know an a LOT ....  an amazing amount of 'knowing'  .  And its all held 'in memory' .

Yes, (if I understand your question )  ... by taking away their knowing, knowledge and land and lifestyle  they loose  a lot of 'themselves'  ... they  feel empty, purposeless and depressed , confused about the meaning of life and why we are here  and begin to forget the purpose of life .

......  just like a whitefellah

Really ... how about  YOU  sift through that asbestos dump to find your rainbow ?   Maybe that will give you some perspective ?

I work in/near/around asbestos.

I merely state a fact that a rainbow can appear over a toxic dump.

I have plenty of perspective and it may differ from YOURS.

I do not think it would be ok to dump toxic waste anywhere especially unprotected in childrens play yards.

Never searching for a rainbow anyway. they show up before during or after rainshowers and a little sun.

That is what a rainbow is to me. and when a rainbow is present it can be anywhere.

want a rant with me? then lets have it.

as far as socialism......I think it is fair enough that people can earn as little or as much as they want.

If I disagree with how much professional athletes earn then I simply don't participate in the hoopla

The piano was nice. I enjoyed the laughter of the kids repeating English after their teacher.

the  matter of perspective was the pendulum swing of extreme poverty to extreme wealth.

And I merely read into that 'statement of fact' what it suggests . Maybe I was wrong to do that and its merely a  random 'statement of fact ?

It rather tempting to me now to make other 'random statements of facts' ... that have no other suggestive meaning at all .....

Rant ? !  Why would I want to rant ?     I shall tell you how awful rants are, they are the bain of human existence! . If rants were plentiful humans would become extinct! Extinct I say!! Humans also need to pick cherries   with automated cherry pickers as this results in more plentiful harvests resulting in more people whos brains have been nourished by cherries and intelligent cherry nourished people are less likely to rant than those raised on blueberry farms, because they are subjected to blueberry fumes, and they are toxic, like non toxic glue , made of horse hooves. Horses can also help prevent rants as you cannot rant while riding a horse and you can't ride a horse if there aren't horses because they have all been made into non-toxic glue. .....

the rest of this rant can be followed on my upcoming TV series  ;

Maybe the best answer is how can I learn existence's lessons quickly ?
Asking whether worrying is suffering is one step removed from the lesson .... feel the worry and let it flood through you do not jump away just feel it, let it flow through you deeper and deeper, feel the pain anxiety whatever it is soak into you, let go and feel.
When the storm finally clears, you will be changed.
