Socialism does work

Another socialist puff piece confusing capitalism with right wingers.

Either right wingers are pro free market capitalism/anti-protectionism

Or right wingers are anti- free market capitalism/ pro protectionism

But they cannot be both.

One of these is fascistic in an economic sense.

Yeah, socialism works best for those who put nothing into it.

Seriously? No.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/warren-j-blumenfeld/attacks-against-bernie-sanders-have-reached-new-depths_b_7851582.html

... good example of US right wing calling people Nazis by twisting the facts.

"In the Bernieverse, there's a whole lot of nationalism mixed up in the socialism. He is, in fact, leading a national-socialist movement, which is a queasy and uncomfortable thing to write about a man who is the son of Jewish immigrants from Poland and whose family was murdered in the Holocaust. But there is no other way to characterize his views and his politics."

Sanders' brand of protectionism favoring U.S.-American workers' rights and jobs, when linked to this self-described socialist political philosophy amounts to his "strange brew of nationalism and socialism...leading a national-socialist movement," which is a clear and obvious reference to the Nazi party.

Sanders' own brand of racist National Socialism by stating that Sanders has always been critical of trade policies "with brown people - Asians, Latin Americans," but has remained virtually silent regarding U.S. trade deficits with countries like Sweden and Canada, demographically whiter countries further along the socialism scale. Williamson continues his accusations of Sanders' racism

"That the relative success of the Western European welfare states, and particularly of the Scandinavian states, is rooted in cultural and ethnic homogeneity is a longstanding conservative criticism of Bernie-style schemes to re-create the Danish model in New Jersey and Texas and Mississippi."

Great analysis.  How can you be pro-illegal immigration from Latin America...even providing social benefits without taxes, many to even criminals...yet be anti-Chinese labor from abroad?

Why do Socialists brand Donald Trump a lunatic for being anti-illegal Mexican immigration...but Bernie not for being anti-Chinese labor?

Maybe some resident Socialists here can explain their racial hierarchy and double-standards?

Well, if you think that's great analysis there really is no hope.

Started to edit that sign to read:

Indentured Servitude

Turn Left

but decided it was pointless.

So...

Last night, we went downtown in out little community of about 10,000 people. Five different businesses in a three-block area had live music. We skipped the world champion dulcimer player because they were charging admission (and my wife had already seen him) and walked to a dive bar with a decent alt band from Knoxville playing for tips. Had a beer there (an excellent local brew from just a few miles away) and tipped them well on our way out.

From there, we went to a nice restaurant around the corner which had a fantastic bluegrass band. A different local brew followed by a Franziskaner for me while my wife enjoyed yet another local brew (a ginger wheat). Again, we tipped the band generously on our way out.

My point? Well, I have read extensively, including since this thread began, and one of the common threads across the many socialist manifestos I have studied has been the efficient use of shared resources for the public good. Nothing about my evening would have fit this ideology. Nothing.

You may still think you are drinking Kool-Aid but I have recognized it for what it is and I will resist attempts to pour it down my throat, or the throats of my family, my friends or my community.

Enjoy your government-issued nourishment, though, if it makes you feel better.

idk brian, i dont see govt going away. and if we are to have a govt, which we do and most likely will continue to have in place, then, i like the idea of a govt that works equally well for the welfare of all, rather than the few billionaires.

Lucky you :)

I was born in grey, cold, orange tree free England, which had bankrupted itself fighting the Nazis.

Agreed, but why would you believe the rhetoric that neofeudalism by any name is "for the welfare of all?"

Curiously, one of the premises of this thread is that it is inappropriate to pin any adverse outcomes on socialism because it has never been successfully implemented anywhere on the planet, ever. So the concept of socialism is a unicorn byvits very nature.

In fact, the true Socialists maintain that it cannot be implemented on a regional basis or in an incremental fashion. Instead, we are told, this best of all possible societies, this ultimate evolution of mankind, can only be brought about by the forceful destruction of any form of competition on a global basis -- and only then will we understand how wonderful it all is.

Ummm...

Uh-huh.

(I'll be glad to point to some of the many manifestos proclaiming this, BTW.)

Put as much lipstick on it as you wish, even call it something else.  But it's still a modified version of the same thing.

Time to start a new thread I reckon.  (since any objective observer would agree that I won all the substantive points).

What next I wonder.

Hehehe.  Well, it's your thread; I suppose it's alright to delare yourself the winner.

Thank you comrade.  But obviously I cannot count myself a winner until the Sate Approvals Committee has formally assessed my request.
