I didn’t want to announce it before and draw attention, but I suppose it’s time to do so because I am doing so in gratitude of the few who knew privately: I’ve been hit by Typhoon Rai and it’s been over three weeks with no power or water. After a volcanic explosion in 2020 and Covid-19 last year, this is the third incident, which came a day after moving to the Southern Philippines.

What more can one do than just accept it and be grateful for whatever is left, which is my life, shelter, some food, my dogs, and the generosity and compassion of others who have sent help and held us in their prayers?
