  1. Hi Mig, I have found a new one here http://www.serenitystreetnews.com/HERSTORY CRAMNOTES/5dterra NOTES AUDIO VIDEO/ebooks/144000/Alchemy_Michael_Winn_Daoist_Internal_Alche.pdf 36 pages. I hope that it is the same one as in the link above. Sorry about the long URL. I did not have the time to look it up how to shorten it but it works !
  2. Hi Aetherous, Could you please PM me on this as well? Thank you.
  3. Hi, I have been researching kundalini ( more on it in a another post) and I noticed that many of the gurus, teachers died at a young age. Some examples: Paramhansa Yogananda died of heart attack at age of 59. Glenn Morris died of heart attack at age 52 Yogi Bhajan diet at age 75 ( I do not know of what) What the heck is going on? My parents do not practice anything and they are in their eighties. Additionally, master Chunyi Lin’s wife died of breast cancer at a young age. Why he could not save her with all his “powers”? I have not researched everyone but from what I remember not that many make it even to their eighties. Did anyone ever ponder that? Aren’t these people supposed to be strong, enlightened, healthy? Some charge money to heal others yet they cannot heal family members? Additionally, many teachers and gurus are also not that “hot” looking either. They are overweight, out of shape, looking older than their age or their age (if they are lucky). I am not impressed. On the other hand I think that Dr Yang Jwing Ming and Mantiak Chia (although controversial for some) look great for their age. They must be doing something right! They do not even have that many gray hair and there seems to be a lot of vitality and vibrancy in them. I am really curious what you guys think about my conundrum. I think that it would have been so much more motivational to follow someone who has good results to show for. Would you follow advise of a sickly, overweight functional medicine doctor on how to be optimal? I am very much looking forward to your thoughts.
  4. Starjumper, Good explanation of Bruce’s teachings. Now I understand what he is all about and I do not think that I am into what he is teaching (relaxation). I am “hard core” and I think/hope that I am not the ‘masses” But I do have a lot to learn and to figure out.
  5. Sorry, but I am confused LOL. Do you imply that Bruce is a joke? Maybe he is just having fun in this video?
  6. Thank you. Ok, it is not worth it but Frantz is good otherwise/in general, isn’t he? I do not see much negative stuff about him on this forum. If anything, many people seem to quote him.
  7. Hello, Bruce Frantzis has just released a new course: http://taoistyoga.org and I was wondering what you guys think about it. I am a total beginner. He also throws in a bunch of interesting bonuses. Are they any good? The sale price is till the end of this weekend, I believe. Thank you in advance.
  8. Dr Stephen T Chang

Hi, Has anyone heard of Dr Stephen T Chang? He is apparently a renowned Taoist doctor and herbalist.I do not see any info on him on this forum. Here is his website: http://www.thegreattao.com/html/founderfoundation.html with his bio and books. I am tempted to get some of his books (diet and longevity exercises?) but I want to hear first what you guys know of him. Thank you for your help.
  9. No takers? I am shocked. I thought you guys would be all over my question. Did I post it in a wrong area and nobody sees it or something (LOL)? Thank you.
  10. Hi Starjumper,

You have written in one of your posts: "You can count the number of good chi kung systems in this country on the fingers of one hand and have a couple of fingers left over."

    What are they?

    Thank you

  11. HI, Does anyone have any experience with Yi Ren Qigong? I have come across it when googling menopause reversal. I found this article http://www.qigongedu.com/2012/03/energy-medicine-yi-ren-qigong-menopause-low-testosterone/ It says that Yi Ren Qigong can potentially reverse menopause. It is quite a statement. What would the best qigong be to reverse aging, rejuvenate, for longevity, restoring fertility, anti aging, youth, health, spirit, mind etc (you get my drift )? There are so many options and claims out there. I do realize that I will not be 20 again but I will take what I can We ( me and my sister) do you not want to waste time on things that do not work. Thanks a lot
  12. Thank you for all your responses! All very helpful. @ Oneironaut: I have come across The Root of Chinese Qi Gong and Damo Mitchell when I was trying to find some threads for beginners. I was just not sure how broad they were. Fortunately my library has them. Speaking of searches….. I typed in “for beginners” and “Novices” in the titles search box. Any other suggestions on how to find all the beginners threads? @ Dawei: I guess I am looking at the health, longevity (immortality J)and spiritual aspects of Qi gong and Taoism but then who knows I might find something else as I deepen my knowledge. @ Morning Dew: the FAQ is really good. Quite a few gems there. I did not look there as I thought it was just some boring stuff LOL
  13. Hi Everyone, Are the following books good as a wide base introduction (for getting the bigger picture first, kind of bird’s eye view before I chose a particular path) for a beginner? Anything else that is more suitable? Some sort of “encyclopedia” would be great but I do not think that such exists or does it?
