I'd also add that there is really no "we", as in multiple and different variations of the eternal Self, thus just one Self in the many of us which are only apparent or relative we ('s) - which may be a party pooper for some who want to build up and keep their hard won separate identity. "We" could say we is used as a relatable manner of speaking, or a handle.

My favorite quote, about thought: As (one) abides in body contemplating body, either some bodily object arises, or bodily discomfort or drowsiness of mind scatters (one’s) thoughts abroad to externals. Thereupon… (one’s) attention should be directed to some pleasurable object of thought. As (one) thus directs it to some pleasurable object of thought, delight springs up in (one’s being). In (one), thus delighted, arises zest. Full of zest (one’s) body is calmed down. With body so calmed (one) experiences ease. The mind of one at ease is concentrated. (One) thus reflects: The aim on which I set my mind I have attained. Come, let me withdraw my mind [from pleasurable object of thought]. So (one) withdraws (one’s) mind therefrom, and neither starts nor carries on thought-process. Thus (one) is fully conscious: I am without thought initial or sustained. I am inwardly mindful. I am at ease. (Gautama repeats the above for “As (one) contemplates feelings in feelings…”, “… mind in mind…”, “… mind-states in mind-states, either some mental object arises, or…”) Such is the practice for the direction of mind. And what… is the practice for the non-direction of mind? (First,) by not directing (one’s) mind to externals, (one) is fully aware: My mind is not directed to externals. Then (one) is fully aware: My mind is not concentrated either on what is before or on what is behind, but it is set free, it is undirected. Then (one) is fully aware: In body contemplating body I abide, ardent, composed and mindful. I am at ease. And (one) does the same with regard to feelings… to mind… and mind-states. Thus (one) is fully aware: In mind-states contemplating mind-states I abide, ardent, composed and mindful. I am at ease. This is the practice for the non-direction of mind. (SN 47.10, tr. Pali Text Society vol. V pp134-136)

don't know...but there is that saying of "in the blink of an eye" depending upon how that eye is seeing. bringing up a tangent: the blink of an advanced or acute eye may see many earth years and events pass by more quickly than most humans would... (so who really knows the translation across scales for beings under different levels of universal law; and time)

It’s just my opinion though. I’ve always found the system to be very sound. Guess some of it is personal preference. I took mine very seriously though and was extremely clean in my energy when I went to the attunements. They were in person and the group all stayed in a hotel. The teacher was very credible.

If you have volume 2, try doing Monk Serves Wine 2 before sleeping, or even do Monk Holds Pearl lying down right before you sleep

After a few more months of practice and not feeling a lot of benefits from it, I think I might have found the reason why: After checking everything, just to be sure, my doctor send me to the sleep clinic and long story short, I have a moderate case of sleep apnea caused most likely by a low jaw being too far back that disrupts completely my quality of sleep. But from what I remember from early pages, good quality sleep is a must for FPCK to work and it looks like I didn’t have that in quite some time... So I guess I'll pause my practice for the moment and will try again once those apneas will be sorted. Thanks for the help of everyone and especially @zen-bear for taking time to answer around here multiple times!

see that's the thing. there is a core within us that can not be destroyed. It remains pristine. no matter what. "nothing can withstand the light of pure consciousness."

This is a slight deviation but I recommend Reiki. The attunements for me were deeply magical. the skills of grounding and doing protection rituals are also included. When you start opening up psychically there can be a lot coming at you, when this happens to me in overwhelm I switch on Reiki and navigate through difficulties. if you like the idea of connecting with spirit guides and battling dark forces that may try it on I recommend Reiki. It’s quite a trip, for me at least. Also like in some of the other esoteric arts I call on the 4 archangels for protection as a part of my practice. stay grounded and stay protected my friend. And never reach out further than your roots extend down. peace and love. Thrice

Too much Qi lingering in the head Too much thinking Liver Yang rising Heat Dampness/imbalance If you have (like most people do) any of the above or all of them (very common) anything you mentioned is going to cause you what is called kundalini syndrome, seeing ghosts, communicating with spirits and bizarre stuff which fall under the umbrella of the "ungrounded syndrome." To prevent that, do the following: 1. Leg work. Foundation exercises like low basin walking, kung fu leg conditioning work (five stances), Asian squat, closed legs squat. 2. Walking meditation with bare feet for many hours a day when seated meditation practice is heavily emphasised. 3. Hiking for many hours in the natural environment. If the practitioner suffers from being very ungrounded stop any seated meditation and work heavily on the above until the problem is corrected. This could mean months or even years depending on the length of the ungrounded state; eg. University student, academic, white-collar professional, etc. People born in Fire years or under a Fire sign like the Horse are particularly most at risk.

About a decade ago, I used Eric Isen to psychically 'test' the effect of various qigong forms on me over the course of a couple of years. I ended up spending several thousand dollars. I became slightly suspicious, so I asked him to test a fictitious system. To make it interesting, I made it an anagram of the words 'Eric the Liar'. He gave me a glowing recommendation for this system. I paid him, thanked him and never contacted him again.
