old3bob Posted September 23 (edited) get as many chores done as possible before the snow flys: paint the outside of house if needed and calk windows where needed get firewood ready, check and or clean chimney pipe do whatever work your vehicles need, along with new all season or snow tires if needed trim trees and bushes soon and put down winter fertilizer for the lawns make sure your furnace is in good order (call a company to check it) and get spare air filters for it make sure that any water pipes will not freeze by being exposed and also drain and roll up water hoses mend fences and gates if needed take a break and have a good cup of coffee and listen to some good music waterproof your boots and organize winter clothing, including getting a new coat if needed attend your favorite college football games and cheer your head off while analyzing plays pray & give thanks for your next breathe and the power given to do all the things you love and for those you love last but not least check to see if Nungali finished his daring ocean voyage Edited September 23 by old3bob 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

old3bob Posted September 24 (edited) and there is the sargasso sea which is good for some sea creatures and seaweed but not for row boats...so don't get caught in that although there might be some creatures and organic non-gmo plants you could eat? Nungali Posted September 26 The silly thing down here is we 'do' ( commercial ) Halloween ( meaning check out women in supermarkets- and others - wear witch hats and false warty noses and drape themselves in fake spider webs ) to celebrate going into winter , ancestor night, feast of the dead and divination ( going back to old times, one needed to know the severity or not of the approaching winter ) ; people decorate their homes and gardens with the same . And now Bunnings have their normal location and space for Christmas deco and lights full of the same crap but for Halloween . BUT we do it on your date , which is the coming of spring here and its natural opposite - a time of renewal, birth sun warm celebration ... naturally, but who cares about that ! Even the people that want to scan your docket at the exit of a department store ( why ! ? they dont even look in your bag to see if your purchases match the docket and most of the time they miss me as I have timed my exit to be behind someone that they start scanning ) alll dressed up witchy poo or like a corpse ! WTF ! Anyway , I get my own 'Halloween prank' back at them ; not in 'Halloween drag ' but 'cool' young guy with weird hair and facial piercings or older lady with garish clothes and make up ... waiting with their scanning gun ready ... me ; '' Wow !
