Human madness is overwhelming, so I recommend becoming a kindness specialist.  Maybe your heart feels an affinity for a particular issue -- poverty, environmental protection, racism...whatever it may be.  I think it´s enough to concentrate one´s change-the-world efforts in that one area.  Or perhaps you´re not drawn to big splashy issues at all, but you´re an excellent gardener: brighten the world with flowers.  Or lets say you´re an artist or a cook or the neighborhood extrovert who smiles and says hi to people walking down the street.  It all counts.  So many ways to heighten the vibe.

One of the most powerful transformative practices i ever came across was a single line to that effect.  That by simply broadcasting qualities  like joy and compassion and kindness, as I go about my day doing the things that i love (as I work in the garden for instance) then the kindness and the intelligence and the benevolence of the universe delivers that to people, places, situations where it is most needed and where it has the most benefit. 

 

In this way, one person really can and does make a difference in the world. This helps prevent a sense of overwhelm and what some people describe as feeling helpless to effect change.

Quite so!

 

The challenge is controlling/refining/aligning the human structure so that the Uncreated can shine/transmit its Intent through the humanness.

 

Currently human society is more interested in maintaining power and control

I'd also add that there is really no "we", as in multiple and different  variations of the eternal Self,  thus just one Self in the many of us which are only apparent  or relative we ('s) - which may be a party pooper for some who want to build up and keep their hard won separate identity.

 

"We" could say we is used as a relatable  manner of speaking,  or a handle.

don't know...but there is that saying of "in the blink of an eye" depending upon how that eye is seeing.  

 

bringing up a tangent:  the blink of an advanced  or acute eye may see many earth years and events pass by more quickly than  most humans would...  (so who really knows the translation across scales for beings under different levels of universal law; and time)

Human history parallels this trend.

learned dos 3.2 on an a 8086 machine that was  made in 1984 that had 640k of ram which  was powerful back in the day.  Btw, most of the old monitors were very hard on the eyes!  I hot rodded that machine with  dos 5,  UMB and EMS cards and far better VGA video !  Also added a sound card but it quit on me.  Heck it even had a 14k modem for trying out the early WWW bulletin boards.  Alas I finally  sold that baby for a good price, btw I built and kept a super socket 7 machine that can multi boot to run dos  6.2, windows 3.11 or  windows 98.   I really got a kick out of tinkering with memory management (via the autoexec and config files along with extra utilities and complex batch files, LOL) on those old machines for best performance;  which is not unlike how I once got a kick out of tinkering with and fine tuning carburetor's, cams and intake manifolds on old cars but not so much anymore for the old boy...

My life has not been too short to observe  a decline in society  and technology .

 

get real ..... yeah we got a lot of fancy tech .... but most of its plastic crap that if it breaks you throw it away and get another one !

 

So is that better or advanced ?  ... but but .... we didn't have 'gaming'  before  or  Facebook   !     

 

40 years back ... I break something important I need . I pull it apart and find the culprit .. take it to town and show the blacksmith ... "Yeah, I can make you one of those ... if you want to stick around I will do it now for you . "

Good question !  

 

So far I have only found him outlining the problem . As far as I know he came up with a  test for his students , surprised at the results , he gave them to the faculty ... similar results . So he tried different parts and roles in society with the test , similar .

 

I think his work was just about these results and conclusions  .

different forms of human knowledge have been increasing at breakneck speed but the wisdom to use it well has in many cases decreased!  And like a house of cards things will fall apart (an understatement) the further we get away from dharma...
