What was that question, and what is the answer? Otherwise, how can we really compare experiences.

The question was on the topic of past lives and the significance of this life. I would not like to go into details here, but it was kickstarted by remembering a past death in full detail. I remember the time from waking up to the point of death and shortly after. I recall the heat, the sensations of death, and the brief confusion that consumed my past mind before dying. Overnight, I went from ridiculing anyone who thought that there was anything beyond death to fully believing that there was. It started a search to find "exactly" what I was before, how I ended up remembering said past life, and why such things existed in the first place.

My answer was found after a lot of emptiness meditation, talking with spirit guides, diving through tarot, and mental projection. I wouldn't recommend my path to another person, but I found that letting go of my desire to learn actually ended up letting me learn more than before. I did get an answer on why I could remember past lives, as well as the inner workings of the cycle, but it would be impossible to convey this answer in words.

While I don't know how much of this particular story you will believe, nor do I know how much it will help you, I do hope it has helped somewhat.

I appreciate you explaining this. And i do believe what you experienced, as i've experienced much similar. Though i haven't remembered past lives. I've only been led to find or identify certain physical aspects of myself and in connection with being led to find and researching the past. I agree with the letting go part.

The process form me currently looks more like a give and take. there is significance to it, but it's not one where i can obsess and put all else to the side. If i put in the work apart from it, then more connections arrive. Ironically though, many answers that are implemented on the personal level of healing end up coming as a result of researching and gaining insight from da vinci's notes and paintings. It's like here you go and now go run off with it until the next thing is ready.

Hey Welkin ,

What happened to your other current thread 'Biological Manipulation Towards What ? "

It just seems to have vanished into thin air !   Manipulated away towards ... where  ?

- just when you thanked me and I said  "You are  welcome . "

Spoiler

Well, I actually  said "You are welkin . "    ( you see what I did there  )

Anyway, its gone .  Could of sworn it was there this very morning .  But now .....   POOOOF !   ... not even in the index.

Calm down. The moderators asked to hide the thread. What happened you wanted to keep feeding? Well now it's over. Please don't try to feed off another thread. Thank you.

Because it was hidden by the OP (owing to nearing the limit of nasty), there is now no reason for it to show up in the moderating section.

Cloud Atlas is a movie that really made a big impact on me. After the movie I remember thinking like wow, i have some oddly deep understanding of this. Because everyone who i went to watch it with, were just clueless. Didn't even get the movie at all. People who at the time i considered highly intelligent and philosophically studied.

I'd be a liar if I said, i didn't compare my experience to those I saw in the movie that had the mark.

That's part of the reason why I tried to find out more about Da Vinci and his works. I've thought that i may have been reincarnated from him, as it seems that he left clues for specific others in the future. I felt that he himself knew that he had been reincarnated from other figures in the past. And it's almost like a necessity to continue on providing the clues for the future incarnations so that they can remember who they are. This is just a hunch and a theory of what the guiding led me to conclude. So i do believe he knew about reincarnation and he may have been led or found things of his own past to possibly identify whom he was.

Some seem to think a lack of necessity of finding out the past, even a danger. Others seem to think it's a necessary part of development. I personally believe both answers are probably true, and it's different on a person by person basis.

Something i find interesting as well, is if you watch all those Hollywood movies and shows where people begin to remember their past, to the point where they realize they're fighting this war of good vs. evil. Just as one side remembers their past, the other does as well. Almost like fighting a war for the soul of this planet or physical reality. I find it interesting how my perspective of what is 'real' and what's deemed as 'fantasy' or 'story' seem to constantly switch back and forth. Almost like the more you find out the more one realizes that things aren't just the 'real' reality that we're taught to believe. We really are living a fantasy story, except that that's the actual reality. As above so below.

Nope , cant see anything in that section .   Do you think threads 'get disappeared'  due to moderation - without notification ?

That makes things a bit confusing .

Really ! ?   I dont think I can ever recall   conversing in a thread in the morning and have all trace of it gone by the afternoon . Doesnt this cause problems ?  I mean, I can see the need or reason someone might have to delete their posts , but the whole thread and everyone else's posts  ???     Wow. That must have pissed some people off in the past .  .... I mean  this one disappearing was no big deal , I did want to explore the natural / unnatural thing , but  mhe .  But what if someone in another thread devoted time and research to an issue, posted on it , for others ( than the OP ) to read and it just got deleted .

Nope, was going to see if you’d commented about them, in non-hidden threads. You know, something indicating you were actually aware of this happening in the past?

How about this one, instead?

I thought you needed 'permission' to do that ?

The above thread you cited doesnt make it clear what happened . I commented there  on 'thread removal '  not ' removal of a thread by the OP' .   I was confused as others by a thread removal with no mods present .

   ..... from the thread,  you commented  ;

"  Sean actually gave me permission to hide a thread I had started in the past. "   So that doesnt indicate at all that  an OP can just eliminate a  whole thread (and everyone else's work as well )   themselves .

I see also in the thread you cited  that other people  think its a  rather strange  option as well .

SO ... where do we stand now ?

Can a person  (OP )  just randomly  '  hide '  ... which basically means 'remove' .... a thread   and every other persons posts in it or do they have to 'ask permission'   (  which means they cant do it by themselves and are really asking a mod to hide it ) ?

If the topic is in the General section and you are the OP, you may opt to hide the entire thread without mods help.  You cannot 'unhide' it after this though, that requires a mod.

You should be able to see the button with the option for it in any thread you started in General.  If I remember right it was discussed and instituted so that folks would have some ability to keep topics from being co-opted by unruly trolls or spammy non-sequitors.

I've done it with one thread I made in General a while back, when I changed my mind about the topic shortly after posting it... though in my case no one had commented yet and I don't think anyone even read it.

But yea, in General all conversations are potentially much more temporary than in other parts of the board.

Thanks ST .

I guess things are more permanent in the Rabbit Hole then .

Maybe before writing any longer  answer  in the general section , from now on. I will ask the OP to re post in the rabbit hole .

Is it that   small faint  'moderations options '  box next to 'start new topic '.

So, one can 'moderate' a whole thread out .

No folks, I am NOT being a deliberate idiot , I just never noticed that before , or if I was told , I forgot .  In my 'defence ' . I recently  wrote about a picture resizing tool available here that a Mod didnt even know about .

... so 'things' can be missed .

I wonder about the purpose though .....

I mean     someone   could   start insulting people .... tell them to " go F**** yourself "  ... even after a Mod warning , continue in the same way and then 'hide'  one's   'work' .

yup, it's that 'moderation' box above the first post... only the OP can see it or use it.

If an author of a post hides the first post of the thread, it automatically hides the whole thread.

Yeah, except mods can still see hidden posts and threads.

I found this under a search for ‚Äúowner permissions‚ÄĚ (indicating they no longer applied when the forum ‚Äúmoved.‚ÄĚ

However, during the lawless phase, some members saw fit to take back what used to fall under the heading of ‚Äúowner permissions.‚ÄĚ

And no ‚Äúreset‚ÄĚ of the then newer policy has occurred as far as I am aware.

There weren‚Äôt any mods at the time, and members may have felt they had little recourse when they believed their threads had been ‚Äúhijacked‚ÄĚ (or whatever other reasons they then had for hiding their threads.)¬†

What is it you are actually confused about?

Anything to do with technology and computers , owner  ' permissions '  ...  and especially, how the above  read like it couldnt be done (hiding a thread )  without Mods , yet when no mods around  a  poster could do it .  To me , that is confusing .
