Ā STICK, ADHERE, CONNECT, AND FOLLOW a very basic idea expressed in tatiji.Ā Ā What is shown in all clips are same things used at different levels of awarenessĀ Ā Ā

Ā My teacher can move me around like a puppet with Qi emission. However if I didnāt want him to, I could easily close the connection.Ā This is not a martial art demonstration. Ā That clip however doesnāt even look like Qi emission. To me that looks like long term students whoāre strongly attuned with the teacherās intention and donāt want to shatter the group illusion (without realising it obviously). Just like you did. That guy clearly has skill. The wavey guy - not so sure. He doesnāt even have a kua - so I doubt it. Ā But more than happy to discuss. freeform Posted February 15, 2019 5 minutes ago, windwalker said: you mention kua.Ā Ā what do you feel this is? why is it important to have? Ā Thereās many layers to it of course. But a quick way I check teachers is seeing if they move from their kua or from their ankles.Ā Ā Though I do realise that at later levels physical form matters very little. Ā I suspect the Russian wavey guy has a mixture of real skill along withĀ some showmanship. Which is common. Iām pretty sureĀ heād not be able to āwave awayā a rugby player intent on tackling him. Ā Iāve met many unscrupulous teachers that for example give incorrect training instructions to their students on purpose so that they have an āanchorā to bounce them more dramatically. This can also be built into the mind for the āat a distanceā stuff. Ā By the way,Ā Iām coming from a Qigong background - not Taiji. Although the principles are similar and the āQigong bodyā is similar.Ā Iāve touched hands with probably hundreds of people with varying levels of skill. But I have no real taiji skill myself - just some ofĀ the internal connections.

Ā Thanks for a good informative honest reply. Ā Worked withĀ CMA for over 45yrs and taiji for over 35ys spanningĀ Ā china, taiwan and other places in Asia. While I've worked with qiqong it would not be something that I would claim to specialize inĀ other then to how it relates to what are called internal practices in taiji.Ā Ā outlines some of my history for those interested in where I'm coming from and have arrived at... Understanding is not knowing. Ā Many things don't work , until one finds they do.Ā Ā Ā Saying so does little in the way of conversation. Which is the direction I feel this one is headed on this subject. Ā The subject at hand, many practices are changed as they become commercialized. They're always those teaching authentic practices provided one is clear about what they seek.
