Group hypnosis 👍🏼

Have you felt or can do it?

not defending or out to convince but would like

to hear ones explanation of how they arrive at that conclusion,

on often heard among others until they meet some one who can do

it.....online what then follows, most stop posting about it.

STICK, ADHERE, CONNECT, AND FOLLOW

a very basic idea expressed in tatiji.

What is shown in all clips are same things

used at different levels of awareness

I’m pretty familiar with this sort of stuff.

My teacher can move me around like a puppet with Qi emission. However if I didn’t want him to, I could easily close the connection. This is not a martial art demonstration.

That clip however doesn’t even look like Qi emission. To me that looks like long term students who’re strongly attuned with the teacher’s intention and don’t want to shatter the group illusion (without realising it obviously).

If you wish to discuss it would be helpful to discuss.

I just wanted to post a video of a highly skilled modern Taiji practitioner. Just like you did. That guy clearly has skill. The wavey guy - not so sure. He doesn’t even have a kua - so I doubt it.

But more than happy to discuss.

with out comment.

Adam has good skill, although a lot of his ideas resemble

s-mantia which he has in his back ground.

you mention kua.   what do you feel this is?

why is it important to have?

There’s many layers to it of course. But a quick way I check teachers is seeing if they move from their kua or from their ankles.

Though I do realise that at later levels physical form matters very little.

I suspect the Russian wavey guy has a mixture of real skill along with some showmanship. Which is common. I’m pretty sure he’d not be able to ‘wave away’ a rugby player intent on tackling him.

I’ve met many unscrupulous teachers that for example give incorrect training instructions to their students on purpose so that they have an ‘anchor’ to bounce them more dramatically. This can also be built into the mind for the ‘at a distance’ stuff.

By the way, I’m coming from a Qigong background - not Taiji. Although the principles are similar and the ‘Qigong body’ is similar. I’ve touched hands with probably hundreds of people with varying levels of skill. But I have no real taiji skill myself - just some of the internal connections.

Thanks for a good informative honest reply.

Worked with  CMA for over 45yrs and taiji for over 35ys spanning  china, taiwan and other places in Asia.

While I've worked with qiqong it would not be something that I would claim to specialize in

other then to how it relates to what are called internal practices in taiji.

outlines some of my history for those interested in where I'm coming from

and have arrived at...

Amazing - always a pleasure to see people so dedicated to their art.

I’ll check out your blog, thanks.

Can you share your perspective on the Russian wavey guy?

An interesting comment.  Good you understand a little of whats called fa-qi

do you also understand what a qi chong is?  "qi field"

what it is,how it reacts,  why and what one can or can not do with it.

anecdotally,  my own teacher in beijing had one of the students there ask him to try it with him

actively resisting the effect he passed out and had to be revived, told to me by some of my classmates

Had a good friend of mine a taiji teacher *

come over with one of his students.  My teacher did a little

on him and he too almost passed out....

hes based in HI for those interested

Only in the non-martial context, where making students pass out is a bit taboo :)

I’ve experienced what might look like unconsciousness to a bystander (including breath cessation etc) - but internally it was the opposite of unconsciousness.

I understand that lot of these Qi emission based techniques simply don’t work on non-students.

Hasn't been my experience.

Understanding is not knowing.

Many things don't work , until one finds they do.

Saying so does little in the way of conversation. Which is the direction I feel this one is headed on this subject.

The subject at hand, many practices are changed as they become commercialized. They're always those teaching authentic practices provided one is clear about what they seek.

Sure - I’m just sharing my current understanding. I’m willing to be proven wrong. I’ve certainly witnessed all sorts of ‘unusual’ stuff.

Just not in the martial arts context.
