Owledge Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) I am curious: Watch this video (go fullscreen and have sound on ^^) and tell me your reaction, and ( where applicable when you managed to stop laughing xD ) also about your thoughts and feelings on this kind of humor in connection to the theme of spiritual cultivation or even just generally. Marblehead Posted August 31, 2015 My reaction is that some one has too much time on there hands. Maybe they should get a job or something.  No, it did not cause me a spiritual experience.
Brian Posted August 31, 2015 I think that's what's referred to as a ruptured duck.

Owledge Posted August 31, 2015 I think that's what's referred to as a ruptured duck. Maybe it's the end of the universe, maybe it's just a mallardjusted bird.

manitou Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) Did you click the button to hear it whistle? Â Yes, that k-weeoo just isn't to be missed. Â Â Actually, the spiritual awakening of the original duck video greatly paralleled my own. Edited September 1, 2015 by manitou
Brian Posted September 1, 2015 FWIW, National Discount Brokers used to have (about 15 years ago) an entry in their 800# menu that said, "If you would like to hear a duck quack, press 7." Â Pressing "7" resulted in a single duck quack. Â They got over 8 million calls and increased new accounts by 75%. Â They were acquired several years later and the duck quack is no longer a menu selection...
woodcarver Posted September 1, 2015 I giggled a little bit. I don't know what humor really is but spiritual leaders often laugh so that's cool.
Marblehead Posted September 1, 2015 And it's important, I think, to be able to laugh at yourself.
woodcarver Posted September 1, 2015 Â And it's important, I think, to be able to laugh at yourself. I try to practice that but now that you mention it I'm not sure why.

People forget what's important and bring death to everything, including duck quacks. (Especially no surprise with Deutsche Bank.) That little anecdote shows how much acting like humans is appreciated. Sadly though, especially in our times, horrible businesses hire marketing firms to fake that human touch for them. thelerner Posted September 1, 2015 How about we change one letter?   I think that's what's referred to as a raptured duck. really..? that's the one letter you'd change??
Marblehead Posted September 1, 2015 I try to practice that but now that you mention it I'm not sure why. The why is because we need understand and be at peace with the fact that we are not perfect yet and never will be.
Marblehead Posted September 1, 2015 really..? that's the one letter you'd change?? Yep. Just the one letter. Not much else to be said for the quacker.
