Get rid of the snake already!

The wolves in the left corner are waiting till he comes closer...

It's a stallion, by the way -- a yang year we have, yang wood in the heavenly stem and yang fire in the earthly branch. Throw strong wood into strong fire, see what happens. Fire is the destructive phase of wood, wood is the mother phase of fire, but this time around we have fiery mother and she will discipline rather than nourish -- and the wood she meets with her fire is headstrong, stubborn, defiant, and powerful. All in all, it will be a year of rebellious moods involving people who are actually close and similar and related. This is the mood of civil wars.

In other words we will be hearing a lot of "Baby, light my fire".

I need where born, date born, time born....you can PM me this info if you want it private..

how does one determine their own bazi/five element phase?

Try this:

http://www.wangnick.eu/software_4pillarscalculator.htm?lang=en

(Time is only needed for the leftmost column. If you enter Western standard date, select solar calender winter solstice and local time, then it should be accurate.)

Here are some crude basics for interpretation:

hmm, having some trouble with this... if anyone is feeling particularly helpful here is my chart

OK, this is very basic understanding, but I'll do my best:

Yin wood day master. Your defining personality at time of birth, massively influencing your later personality (difficult to deviate from). Much more relevant for you personally than the year energy from the popular Chinese horoscope stuff.

Generally, it seems a lot more reliable/easy to recognize Ba Zi's validity in interpersonal relations than just looking at one person. The personality types from the second link I couldn't verify as being that accurate, but interpersonal energy interactions are often quite spot-on. (Refer to the 5-elements cycle for how the elements interact)

If you entered birth time, too, thus making the leftmost column accurate, then...

Two wood, one water. Birth luck is 3 vs. 5.

For more, I'd have to know your birthdate (or you check it using the linked explanation, but make sure you get the season right), since that determins how strong your day master is and whether you're trying to find fulfillment by compensating a lack or sharing abundance.

(Would be funny if your wood was weak, because of the way we're interacting here - I'm prosperous wood.)

The luck pillars have to do with your age phases in life, but I can't say anymore about that.

BTW the time already takes daylight saving into account, so just enter what the clock showed back then.

This is the best Ba Zi calculator I found on the net, and the only one I would use. I tried some others, but their accuracy was questionable or they were inflexible or there were some other issues.
