Middle DanTien: solar plexus/heart?

Recommended Posts

Just got an awesome heart energy - deep heart electromagnetic bliss love energy from Spring Forest Qigong Master Jim Nance when we talked on the phone for over 2 hrs.

It was right near the end - just a certain turn in the conversation and like a switch - he just sent the energy to me.

The ones I read put the heart and solar plexus (fire) both in the MDT. Then they focus on either fire or smile, but both are equally relevant.

people get confused about it because they dont know how to relate it to the internal alchemy process...

Since this thread is active today, I will add an update.

Broke through heartspace earlier this year. These days I keep more focus on heart than ldt. I seem to be especially interested in diving down into the heart. To spend time in the Universal Heart.

A couple of months ago I did notice my solar plexus, just beneath diaphragm, "breathing." It was like an added freedom. It felt like an enlivening link between ldt and heart. When the sensation of breathing happened, I recalled what Bruce Frantzis says about that part of your breathing to be the last to open up. And it was an added openness to my breathing. Sometimes now, I notice an effortless full body breathing. Like everything is in sync. :)

I don't know enough about the workings of the mdt, but looking at JAJ's diagram, it is a complex area!

the heart sits shining buoyantly on top :) complex, yes, but after opening yongquan a bit, then meridian tapping, open them a bit, and 5 starts making a little more experiential sense!

I'd love to hear your suggested work for the heart/mdt. :)

A note about other people doing the work for you:

If receiving loving heart energy for another allows one's own heart to open, to let go of armor, is this not good? :)

It's like surrendering to the guru. Some utilize the guru 'outside' of themselves (i.e., a person) to assist in recognizing the guru 'inside' of themselves.

Utilizing 'external' alongside 'internal' methods...?

We are all in relationship with one another. Your heart can help to open my heart. And then I can turnaround and give it back to you. (Our hearts are already pooled. Some just have yet to recognize it.)

It's a good argument, but I would counter that it doesn't cost anything.

You don't need people to do it for you bro, it kinda defeats the purpose.

I used to repeatedly ask Jim why he was hanging out with me - always blown away by it - he kept saying - "your energy called me to you." haha.

I have to agree with a lot of posts about mdt here. For me when I really used fire on it, it released a huge amount of negativity. This was done much later after I had filled my ldt. People who have found mdt no problem are truly blessed.

From my own experience and not so much intellectual knowledge- there is communication from ldn and mdt. I believe middle dantien is in the centre of your ribs its near the heart but not the heart. The solar plexus chakra is lower down and is separate.

ldn and solar plexus are easy to unravel when compared to the heart (middle dantien), is very tangled at first.

This point is also imprtant for linking energy to arms.

I havent read the other posts - no time...was thinking this:

thymus gland here:

then see this page:

http://mto.org/tamarkoz/2010/11/electromagnetic-centers-3/

see how there are these important centers in both places?

a nerve plexus and an endocrine gland? Its possible that there was some confusion...I don't know - still kicking this idea around...

In the end, while names are useful, knowing without names is more useful - knowing through direct awareness is the most useful. Maps of territories are good for exploring, but when there are so many maps showing different things and calling them the same place, eventually one must throw ones hands up in exasperation and say to hell with these stupid maps - I am just going to go there! So - start exploring your self (bodymindheart) and see what is there. THEN - come back and look at the maps again later - see who is right by saying - Oh yes, this guy is most likely more right! But never be sure - keep researching, keep looking, keep finding. To look for absolute - "this is definitely right" knowledge when one hasn't even been there is futile....go explore, come back, make your own map, go explore, come back - improve your map - compare with others maps - endless refining, neverending...until the seeking stops - when does that happen? When you have thrown away all maps because you have complete access to the territory all the time, and you go there everyday.

I am thinking that it is interesting that the Sufis label what appears to be the thymus gland as the source of life...and that the yogis say that the self is bout the size of a thumb and is located in the heart, right where the thymus gland is located....interesting interesting interesting!

Please see the functions of the thymus gland here:

https://eaware.org/thymus-gland/

Now - if one is a person seeking longevity through Taoist means - would not focusing on this gland that shrinks in old age make it grow again and boost the immune system? hmmm...that's a thought, and also - what about this - this gland is more active in childhood - although kids get sicker more often because they haven't been exposed as much to stuff - they also heal quicker and are bundles of energy! What does this mean?

It means that regardless of whether or not the thymus gland is the MDT, it is very important to send it some love. The solar plexus is a nerve plexus, i.e. like a bunch of nerves converging and stuff - it is important to send it some love too! Who cares about names anyways? Send love to everyplace in your body - so no place feels left out!

How did you learn / find out about all this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celiac_plexus

The celiac plexus or coeliac plexus, also known as the solar plexus because of its radiating nerve fibers,[1] is a complex network of nerves (a plexus) located in the abdomen, where the celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery, and renal arteries branch from the abdominal aorta. It is behind the stomach and the omental bursa, and in front of the crura of the diaphragm, on the level of the first lumbar vertebra.

The plexus is formed (in part) by the greater and lesser splanchnic nerves of both sides, and also parts of the right vagus nerve.

The celiac plexus proper consists of the celiac ganglia with a network of interconnecting fibers. The aorticorenal ganglia are often considered to be part of the celiac ganglia, and thus, part of the plexus.

The celiac plexus includes a number of smaller plexuses:

Other plexuses that are derived from the celiac plexus:
