I just read that article. It is scathing and says a great deal more about the person who wrote it than it does about Damo's teaching, IMO. Some of the points may be valid, but I suggest seeking out other perspectives.

You could try Jesse Lee Parkers immortal arts online academy. I think it is really great. He just started it and hasn't uploaded all the material that will be there eventually but there is plenty of content for a long time already and he holds a live online workshop every two weeks or so as part of the academy.
