'That'  count  ?   Nah .

It looks like you counted it  ... or tried to ... with a  potential 100% error    :D  .

You should keep better records.    I kept track of how many acid trips I had by putting a mark on the door jamb . If you look at my door jamb (back door, on the inside ) you will see a series of gnaw marks going from the floor up .

it'd like they say abput the sixties, you know: if you remember the sixties, you weren't there.

Okay ... I will laugh as I murder my own parents .

Thanks for the spiritual advice !

I LAUGH AS I SLAY

When God loves people He afflicts them. If they endure with fortitude, He chooses them. If they are grateful, He elects them.

Some men and women are grateful to God for His wrathfulness and some for His graciousness. Both are good, for gratitude is the antidote for all occasions, changing wrath into grace. The wise and complete servant is grateful for harsh treatment, both publicly and in private, for with the voice of gratitude comes the inspiration to give more. Even if God sends them to the lowest reaches of Hell, through gratitude God’s purpose is advanced. Outward complaining is a reflection of inward complaining to God. Mohammed said, “I laugh as I slay.” That means, “My laughter in the face of attackers slays their anger and hatred.” Laughter, here, is gratitude in place of complaining.

@Casy  If you are still here :D Besides all this rambling all over the place, I think this is nice place.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with being inspired by the idea of becoming a mystic, with all the mystical qualities he/she embodies. Even the stuff like the occult powers.

Perhaps, this child like curiosity of dreaming and looking upwards is, at least for some of us, something that can strongly push us forward and make us evolve.

That is how it is for me at least.

And another thing, although I am perhaps to green to fully understand this... Whatever weird stuff you might be practicing, never forget the basics!

Being a mystic is an optional stage between being a self-centered human and being an enlightened operator in the local cosmos.

Mystics see and feel whatever comes their way - depending upon the frequencies in which their consciousness lives.

Eventually, to progress, all mystics must become doers rather than watchers.

What does 'an enlightened operator in the local cosmos' do, exactly?

books are so quaint, like listening to the radio, or talking on the phone...writing checks...

like the belters say on the expanse, what a waste to boost so much mass for a megabyte of data...only rich inners would think of it...

I laugh every time I see talking heads with bookcases full behind their heads...

They are not books  ....  that's  'book wallpaper' .

Woman moved here some years back, came in a truck with little furniture but heaps of books and big book cases .  Set them all up, and then moved out a few months later . She wasnt a librarian, or a researcher or anything .

Dont get me wrong, I like books .... very handy, their batteries dont go flat , but most have been given away or in storage now . usually, I need to look something up or read it again, I look the book up on line , except for a few scattered around the house . This woman had huge bookcases of them, so having some interest I had a look .  What a god aweful boring collection of mundane crapola !

Now I hear she has moved back here and is staying at someone's place .... they said she bought the books back with her .   !

Going camping must be difficult   :)

As you may know, the Earth human has a system that uses intelligences from a range of kingdoms including elemental, nature spirit, higher deva as well as specialist entities.

This allows the healed human, now able accurately to use heart and mind,  to use its internal intelligences as portals to bigger systems and to assist in the balancing of processes in ecosystems, planets and galaxies.

As you can deduce, entities that wish to exploit this solar system are committed to suppressing the spiritual qualities of Earth humans.

Still the Artemis Accords indicate some progress

So the purification and opening of the 3 centers?

I've been going at this myself for a few years. Still have ways to go.

I assume there are several ways to go at this and breathing methods is one of them

everybody has a hungry heart...

My wife and I have been together since we were 19 and that's over 50 years, I won't say how many over. It was a double wedding in the commune on whisky creek, had a keg of beer. The other couple is still together too, though perhaps the wonder is we're all still alive.

We blew up our tvs, threw away our romance novels and moved to the country.

Should have kept her barefoot and pregnant...

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.

1. By the fig and the olive.

2. And Mount Sinai.

3. And this safe land.

4. We created man in the best design.

5. Then reduced him to the lowest of the low.

6. Except those who believe and do righteous deeds; for them is a reward without end.

I found breathing exercises damaged my body

Same for me. Currently injured in fact. But that's just because my body is not strong/relaxed enough to hold my breath.

But based on my experience (although still fairly limited) with the breathing techniques I was somewhat lucky to have acquired, seems like it can be quite a simple way to get the job done.

Gotta explore more, just need to make the body strong and relaxed enough first.

Still, will have a look at that exercise you posted, thanks!

from william chittick, “ibn ‘arabi, heir to the prophets”

(“wujud” means “being”)

…love cannot be known in itself, but its attributes and names can be known and described. For Ibn ‘Arabi, one of the most important of love’s attributes has to do with the nature of its object. Whatever object it is that we love, he says, it is always nonexistent. This seems to fly in the face of common sense, since we like to think that we love a real person or a real object, not a nothingness.

“Love’s object remains forever nonexistent, but most lovers are unaware of this, unless they should be recognizers of the realities” (F. II 337.17).

The point Ibn ‘Arabi wants to make is not difficult to understand. When people fall in love, they experience a desire to achieve nearness or union with the person they love. As long as they have not achieved the object of their desire, the object does not in fact exist for them. People love what they do not already have. They want to achieve something that they have not already achieved, or to be near to someone from whom they are far. “The love of the lover becomes attached only to that of the person which is nonexistent at the moment. He imagines that his love is attached to the person, but this is not so. Love incites him to meet and see his beloved” (F. II 327.7).

Ibn ‘Arabi continues this passage by answering an objection. You may say that you loved companionship, or kissing, or intimacy. Then, when you achieved your desire, you found that you still loved it. Therefore, you conclude, love exists along with its object. Ibn ‘Arabi replies that in fact the object still does not exist, because now love’s object is the permanence of what was achieved, not the achievement itself. Permanence is not an existing thing. “Love attaches itself only to a nonexistent thing ... When love sees the thing, it is transferred to the permanence of that state whose existence it loves in that existent entity” (F. II 337.18).

…love is an inherent attribute of Wujud, and love inherently strives for what is not. It expresses what is unexpressed, makes manifest what is hidden, and creates what has not been created. Love might be described as the innate tendency of Wujud to become manifest, or of light to shine. “God is the light of the heavens and earth” (Q. 24:35).

Sufis throw away their wanting and their objects.
They abandon pieces of clothing in the dance,
and those articles are never returned.

They are given to the singer,
or divided among the dancers.

They arise from a briny, annihilating
ocean into pure clarity.

They confront the world openly with its arrogance
and its hypocrisy. They are warriors
for non-existence.

The planter works with the most joy
whose barn is completely empty,
the planter who works for that
which has not appeared.

Yes, good ... thats a good answer   .... become a mystic by dancing !

Spoiler

On certain nights I attend Sufi dance.
I can't remember where it is or how I get there,

or, for that matter, how I get home and back into my bed.

I talked to a friend about it. He told me I was dreaming.

But if it is a dream why do I wake up so sore and tired?

Sometimes I have blisters on my feet.

But I feel I'm getting somewhere with it, I'm no longer getting as dizzy as I used to.
I seem to be developing more love and patience. I look good, people tell me.

I was practising a very difficult part of the dance last month.

The teacher wore orange robes and the dance was very technical.

The month before, a different teacher, (who wore a red robe)

taught a simpler stamping dance, a somewhat angry yet purposeful dance.

There was a teacher before that a beautiful woman who wore a silver robe,

her dance was fluid and graceful. I didn't do very well.

I think I became a little infatuated with her, it was hard to concentrate.

I liked the blue teacher, his dance was joyous and expansive.

Good things happened to me after his lesson. In my mundane life, that is.

The green woman ! Well, that was easy!  But I was a little confronted.

Well worth it, because after those lessons, I met HER - In my mundane life.

The Golden One seemed to be saying he is what I will become. I found him a little confusing.

I haven't been taught by the black teacher yet, I have had a glimpse of her style.

She is naked and black and sprays of stars and spiral galaxies cover her body.

But now,  it's all mixed up.

Sometimes I seem in one level of the dance, and at other times in another level.

But lately there is no teacher.

No particular colored robe and no difference

between the me here in this part of the dance

and that me there in that part of the dance

and another me over there in another part of the dance.

But at the same time I am out of the dance and watching myself and the other dancers.

When that happens the dance becomes a huge astral entity,

a massive cone of light with layers and bands of colours

and dancers and teachers.

Each coloured circle, one on top of each other,

diminishing in size;

a huge cone of dancing, multi-colored, banded light

floating and rotating amongst the blackness and stars of space.

At times while I am in the dance

other dancers come into my space

and bounce and career off me spinning madly,

grinning, singing and dancing off to their destinies

on other paths and trajectories.

In this part of the dance are wild eyed poets giggling on LSD,

dancers that are leaping and floating like fauns and satyrs

somersaulting, leaving behind them trails of stars and sparkles.

Lately I have connected with a dance partner.

We dance exquisitely together,

she looks just like my partner in the mundane world

but lately she seems to have distracted attention.

Something seems to be bothering her, perhaps it is me?

it probably is. My dance is far from perfection.

When I look up through the translucence above, I see exquisite dancers.

They are vibrant and ecstatic.

I want to be like them.

They fall and tumble but this helps then to rise

in their total control of the dance.

Even when they misstep.

I want to be like that.

And when I look down I see the dancers below me

still learning the dance.

I remember when I made those mistakes.

Some are awkward and squabbling like cranky penguins

but others are concentrating and aspiring.

But sometimes, when the dance blends with my mundane life

and I seem stuck in the middle part of the dance.

A crazy insane part of the dance,

that must be passed through to finish the dance.

It does with me what it will

and I can only respond to its energy

and lose myself in the ecstasy of not being there.

But I know I am there.
Just as I know that at this moment

life seems much too serious to be taken seriously

and so much is happening all at once,

that it must be a dance ..... or a dream.

But it matters not

because one thing I have learnt is
that no matter how hard the dance is,

if I persevere  and continually attempt

to see life from the top of the cone,

in my higher consciousness,

with purified love,

I will survive and rise up
beyond the cone
to the ecstasy of infinite space
and feast upon the stars of light .

idries shah's comment and quote of khalili from learning how to learn:

It is conditioning, as much as ignorance, which perpetuates the ignorance of humanity stressed by Khalili* when he speaks of the world and humanity's place in it:

Performers and spectators of the arena are we

Bewildered at our work and at the world's

We, little playthings in the hand of Time:

Made to dance each time its tune is played!
