Watching My Thoughts Because of Blue Balls

Recommended Posts

Poor Johnny is just looking for a way to fix his mind. Can’t blame him for checking out Buddhism.

Society/school shows Johnny how to turn on his mind but not how to turn it off (or even that it can be turned off).

I think he's commenting on how society stifles the mind, and teaches people what responses are acceptable and appropriate. And how this creates a certain amount of anxiety.. that is then combatted by pretending their is no mind.

Do correct me if I'm wrong @rideforever

(and I like the new avatar btw)

You're criticizing average people's ideas (which can be found here for example https://www.reddit.com/r/Meditation/top/?t=all ) about buddhism and meditation rather than it itself?

They're not hardcore, but it helps people

I like that guidance from that book, about stilling your eyeballs, in order to cease thought.

For if you learn to cease thought, you can thus then also learn to truely receive thought, from your own non-physical consciousness of infinite intelligence. And that is and can be forever the most valuable thing you can do and learn in life. That is a profound realisation.
