There is no Duality

Recommended Posts

Doesn't our perception do the filtering?

Then, without the perception, everything just is.

Maybe I haven't gone deep enough, but this is how I see at this level at this time.

Nice :)

We perceive what comes in... all mind...

The question is: Is there something beyond mind?

Can mind even know this?

IMO... I think this the key.... we focus so much on 'mind'... and lose a focus on what is beyond mind...

If we lose the concept of mind... what remains?

Mind remains... and yet, what appears?

Beyond mind.

How?

The Ouroboros, also is 3: Head, body, tail...which could be likened to Destroyer, Preserver, and void..the head eats, the body preserves, the tail 'voids?' That one might need some work lol

The Ouroboros trying to catch its own tail, is like the mind trying to free itself. It ends up going around in circles for eternity, until there is a realization that there is nothing it can do.

Sure there is! It can relax, and then become Shiva riding the Naga (Ox), and observe Samsara/Nirvana with half-lidded eyes

When it relaxes/surrenders/stops fighting, it stops chasing its own tail and is free.

Yet it is still going on a journey! It will be free, truly free when it chooses, but also, when it gets off of the Ox, will it then mount a snake and take another journey? How many countless bodies have we ridden in our endless journey...I don't mind being caged so much myself anymore...;)

Your still chasing along the circle... don't just arrive at the circle's end... be the circle... and then realize the circle is just pathway...

Father, Son, Holy Ghost

Spirit, Mind, Body

The Son is crucified, enters and conquers hell and rises to be born again with the Father in heaven.

How about:

Mother, Father, Son.

That's more natural.

And no one gets crucified.

The story of Christ and the crucifixion is just a parable of the spiritual transformation of man. Esoterically is the story of the mind/personality being crucified and going through a death, dealing with all its rubbish and being reborn anew.

Past exists only as a memory.

Future only exists as an imagination.

Both reside in the imagination.

Wait a minute!!!  You have no "now" moments?

I would agree,

Past exists only as a memory,

Future exists only in the imagination,

Both these exist in the Present (now moment).

Its the minds job to create duality, that is its purpose. It only causes a problem when our identity is caught up in the mind, so the issue isn't dualism or dualistic thinking, it is a case if mistaken identity.

The mind likes to think that there is no reality outside of its itself because to admit otherwise would mean the end of its world.

Birth, life, death; past, present, future...all things clearly only one (present), based on co-origination (past, yin) not knowable (The Tao), but shapeable (Yang)...I'm losing clarity...time to eat some food.

You have great clarity to duality...

stay with that.  This is the manifest world.

You're seeking some disorientation beyond the manifest... to make sense of the manifest...

The manifest is-what-it-is... WYSIWYG... this this this first computer truism.

The present that can be known is not the present...nor is the past that can be known the past, and future too...although past/future only occur in the present, future and past are also occurring simultaneously at all times (quantum theory). All that has been done, is it written in stone? Are we all just interesting books that God has/is/will read/ing?

In cultivating the empty awareness of prajna wisdom knowing without attachment, we accomplish the cultivation of jing, chi and shen naturally. That’s why we can honestly say there is a Zen path without any stages, and that you need only cultivate your bright awareness in the present moment of mind. As the Surangama Sutra tells us: “People fail to realize that this body of ours, as well as the mountains, rivers, space and earth, are all within the wondrous true mind.” Thus if you cultivate the stillness of clear and peaceful shen without form, yang chi is sure to arise and all these transformations will happen spontaneously and effortlessly. Where, then, do you have to force any transmutation into transpiring?

Have the same mind as heaven but without knowing it;
Have the same body as the Way without distinguishing it.
After that, the Way of Heaven is fulfilled.

Simple sitting, with a quiet mind, will eventually cause your yang chi to increase, heat to be produced (“the kundalini will awaken”), and fire toxins to be expelled from your body so that you become cleaner, healthier and purer all the way around. This is what happens due to effortless meditation—no efforts are involved because the extreme of yin will give birth to yang naturally.
