Keith,

Thanks for the resources, but I know that things medical are beyond my brain. Once I've got the sensitivities worked out, a trip to a herbalist in the Toronto Chinatown would be a great idea. As I can't always keep avoid the foods that will bother me, so some herbs to help me along would be great.

I am sure this is genetic, as my mother had a permanently bloated belly (I recognize in retrospect). The other side effect of these food sensitivities is constant itching; it is so much easier to meditate when not itchy!

Chris,

Agreed. :)

While all of Chinese Medicine might be beyond (most of our) scope, i think that a certain limited knowledge of "quick fixes" within your usual area of disharmony is achievable. - if approached in a learn-a-little-at-time basis.

It could be that a tcm dr will prescribe a patent medicine. Then you could look at the book and get a cursory description. Likely that, with the formulas that you are prescribed over time, that they tend to home in on a certain disharmony territory. Then you could - over the next several months - become familiar with 2 or 3 simple digestive formulas that treat your general area. Then you could handle your "general mild standard" stuff ok, and go to the dr when you get beyond that. That's very approachable, achievable, i'd bet.

Just to take a wild shot at this ("cyberspace, never-met-you" disclaimer in effect). With the itching and the bleeding, looks like heat is an issue. With the bloating, looks like stagnation is an issue. (On the slim chance that that'd be correct,) There'd be maybe 1 or 2 or 3 standard herbal digestive patent medicines that cooling and circulating (each for about $1.50 a box in Chinatown). You wouldn't have to know all about the formulas, only that #1 & #2 often help you some, and that #3 really doesn't work for you.

Of course, the prior step would be to see a dr of Ch.Med., and start with his/her recommendation. And use that as a starting pt for user-level study.

Thanks Keith! I never would post something other then because it is awesome. It is also only natural that if you find something awesome you also would want to be an affiliate and sell it. It is part of life to help others and there is nothing wrong with making money from helping others. Money is part of society unless you are shooting arrows at relief helicopters.

Plato,

Like I wrote Max, until his post I was ignorant that separate financial links even existed. But since the link you gave Tumoessence looked exactly like what Max called a link with a "financial connection to the product," I assumed you had given Tumoessence a link with a financial connection to the product. My mistake: I was looking at the page the link went to, not its underlying code.

But which link you gave is still a side issue. You've got to, I believe, disclose your financial interest when hawking a product or person or site. You call this a caveat; I'd call it a courtesy, or even a virtue. And since I have absolutely no mental blocks about money and am not remotely small, let's continue.

I vaguely remember your once writing that you went to Columbia School of Journalism. So what about what's happening to Armstrong Williams:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/08/national...html?oref=login

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/p...olitics/2982711

Now I don't have much use for Williams, and I mean nothing personal by dragging you, Plato, through this analogy (got that Keith?). But Williams has had to admit that he blurred his role as an independent commentator (that would be you, Plato, as our R&D maven) and a paid promoter (that would be any profit you might make by hawking a person or product or site, and I'm not saying that's happened).

I think Williams was absolutely stand-up when he refused to hide behind the "caveat" that he's not a "journalist" but a "commentator." And it doesn't matter one damn whether or not he actually believes in what he's being paid to promote. Of course he believes. He wouldn't be remotely credible if he didn't.

People feel abused when stuff like this happens. The issue isn't making money, it's whether you disclose you're (also) doing it. Or so me thinks.

Hi Keith,

I wonder if you could tell me what it says in parenthesis under my first post to Plato? Thanks,

Trip,

You write:

"You've got to, I believe, disclose your financial interest when hawking a product or person or site."

Yes, I get that you believe this. I don't.

What I believe is that almost everybody who has internet access spends way too much time surfing pornography (and doesn't disclose it 8) ) and then comes to their favorite discussion board to nitpick at best, and flame at worst--much like an unsatisfied wife! :o

Actually, it is possible to put a link witout a code and still benefit from the affiliate program, but I would need to have access to the server of this site to implement this trick.

.. i think it'd be clear to anyone who 's watched Plato's posts for a while, that by far and away his posts are driven by his avid and sharp R&D sword, and we've all benefited.

I couldn't of said it better. Plato is a stand up guy who has generously shared his experiences.

Though I understand the conflict of interest point. Plato has a good rep and his posts have a good track record.

Okay Plato,

I get it that you aren't going to tell us which products or people or sites you have a financial interest in, and that each time you're asked you'll counter with some irrelevant put-down.

If I seem like an unsatisfied wife, it's only because I seem to be getting fucked :o , but in your case can't really tell. 8)

LOL! When I first posted the link (non-afilliate) I was NOT an afilliate--I was someone who had just had an orgasm the way they describe on the site.

I just wanted to share the happiness which is natural when you are that happy.

A few days later I became an afilliate, and I POSTED that fact.

Then you start your money-morality thing and I find it funny--multiple orgasms make a lot of things very clear. Sadly I have not had one in about a week (no fuel I think) and so I am going back and forth here as well with you.

So go out and try the damn thing?

Cool! I can have multiple orgasms too, and they do make you clear. It's not about the money, it's just about being upfront. And I do appreciate you were just that.

Put your GD affiliate's link on the board and I'll pop the damn thing up my butt and the 4.90 in your pocket.

:) We're cool, and I appreciate your gesture--but I don't want to sell you anything. If you want to buy it, just go to the aneros site and get it. I bought mine in my local sex shop because I like to patronize quality sex shops or else they will disappear from the streets of NYC forever. Sure, I paid an extra $15 but so what?

You could've as easily said that you acknowledged Plato at the end of your first post, but you've gotta make me jump through hoops as part of adversarial bullshit. If the bs part could be dropped (or the adversities addressed directly and constructively), there'd be the possibility of productive conversation.

Hi Keith,

Here's how you started your first post:

"I think it would be clear to anyone who's watched Plato's posts for a while, that..."

This is nothing but a backward way of saying, 'tsk, tsk, it hasn't been clear to someone that...'

And who else would you be referring to but me?

Or was it only coincidence that a post extolling Plato's R&D virtues, addressed "To whom it may concern" and authored by you, ended up in the thread?

Come on!

Why not just address me directly? And get your facts right before making any high-handed "it would be clears."

I'm sorry for playing with you. Yes, I was being a little mean. But only a little. And you deserved it. But sorry.

I honestly wasn't keeping track of who was writing on this thread. (and i know that sounds hard to believe.)

- and i hadn't read the whole thread, so i missed your initial acknowledgement of Plato. If you hadn't o' put your silly spin on your reply to me, i coulda said "oops, my bad" - but you had to be a dick about it.

again,

If the bs part could be dropped (or the adversities addressed directly and constructively), there'd be the possibility of productive conversation.

Hi Keith,

I'm really not your adversary, although I appreciate that you feel that way. We've had productive conversations in the past and I'm sure we will again. Take good care,

Hi Cat,

Your question keeps getting sandwiched between my exchanges with Keith, so I feel compelled to answer.

I don't have Plato's love of dressing up in raincoats and dark glasses, so I ordered my Aneros via the Internet and it still hasn't come.

I'd say Mathew Qi's earlier recommendation is about as good and trustworthy as it gets, but there's also a forum on the Aneros site where you can ask more questions.

What kind of reaction are you looking for? There may be a fleeting, odd look in the fella's eyes when he unwraps your gift, but I doubt he'll throw it on the floor and stomp on it.

Hope this helps,

Trip

Cat,

You seem familiar...

From a Reichian perspective, neurosis comes from the inability of the body to fully discharge its stored up tensions during an orgasm.

It is a wonderful addendum to Scott Sonnon's "Freedom By Degree" in terms of reprogramming the amygdala. Consult his last two RMAX on-line magazines for more info:

http://circularstrengthmag.com/

(BTW, I am an affiliate for this guy but this is NOT an affiliate link. If you wish to purchase any of his products, you can do so via the links from my newsletters on http://www.prostatesecrets.com which would be a nice way of acknowledging my contribution. 8) )

Scott Sonnon is really representing in a big way and I suggest everyone investigate joining his "tribe."

In a few years his impact will be undeniable.

Anyway, so the aneros device is related to this but working on the level of the sexual.

I hesitate to classify it into any sort of cultivation framework although its relevancy is pretty obvious.

W.REICH WAS AN ASS-HOWL WHEN IT CUMS DOWN TO THEORY.

NOTE DA FOLLOWIN:

1)NEUROSIS AINT SOLVED BY DISCHARGE ANY MORE THAN IT IS SOLVED BY DEATH. DA SOLUTION IS *TRANSFORMATION*, *NOT* DISCHARGE.

IF YA HAD NOT SPAT UPPON MASTER CHIA'S DOCTRINE, YA'D REMMEBER AT LEAST FUSION I !!!

2)REICH WAS KILLED BY DA FEDS NOT BECAUSE O' HIS SHITTY THEORY BUT BECAUSE HE STUMBLED UPPON A *PRACTICAL* DISCOVERY WHICH DA

THUGS UP THERE DONT WANT US TO GRAB. MANY TIMES, PEOPLE BELIEVE SHITTY THEORIES BUT YET HAVE A GOOD POINT AS FAR AS PRACTICE IS CONCERNED. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO W.REICH, HE WAS A SHITTY PUSY WHIPPED THEORIST BUT HE MADE A DISCOVERY WHICH DA MOFOS UP THERE COULD NOT AFFORD TO LET DA PEOPLE KNOW - THEREFORE HE WAS KILLED.

3)IF YA KEEP FOLLOWIN DA THEORY O' DISCHARGE, YA'LL BE ANOTHER O' THOSE ARROWS SHOT INTO DA NIGHT WHICH DA LORD BUDDHA SPOKE ABOUT.

Reich had a beautiful, beautiful heart that was connected to his genitals. That is pretty rare these days. If I could accomplish that, I would become a Buddha no problem. 8)

The misunderstanding we have here is my fault. When I say "discharge" I am not necessarily referencing ejaculation.

It is true that Reich looked down on the Taoists for their holding back semen and from his frame of reference he was correct: dual cultivation as it is usually promoted (transmutation/transformation of lust) is an incorrect method.

However, it is also important to note that if your sexual energy isn't "reset" then saving semen in a maniacal fashion is counterproductive. A wet-dream or a fox spirit seducing you is inevitable if there is tension for such events to attach themselves to. In other words, your held tension becomes a handle by which you can be manipulated.

Tension is an attachment, if I may be so Buddhist!

However, I am not advising Pietro's "water method" which will indeed turn one into an arrow shot into the night if taken too far.

Still, one must be realistic and not go all-out to accomplish the 100 days if a proper foundation is not laid.

Fix your income, fix your health, and do good deeds and don't do bad ones. Fix your sexual shit.

Then, go hardcore.
