Tao Te Ching – Verse 1
The tao that can be told is not the eternal TaoThe name that can be named is not the eternal Name.
Â
The unnamable is the eternally real.
Naming is the origin of all particular things.
Free from desire, you realize the mystery.
Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations.
Â
Yet mystery and manifestations arise from the same source.
This source is called darkness.
Darkness within darkness.
The gateway to all understanding.

Very much apropos to your previous post. A little more along the same line of thought:
Â
QuoteÂ
For the unified mind in accord with the Way
all self-centered striving ceases.Â
Doubts and irresolutions vanish
and life in true faith is possible.Â
With a single stroke we are freed from bondage;
nothing clings to us and we hold to nothing.Â
All is empty, clear, self-illuminating,
with no exertion of the mind's power.Â
Here thought, feeling, knowledge, and imagination are of no value.
In this world of Suchness
there is neither self nor other-than-self.Â
To come directly into harmony with this reality
just simply say when doubt arises, "Not two."
In this "not two" nothing is separate,
nothing is excluded.Â
No matter when or where,
enlightenment means entering this truth.
And this truth is beyond extension or diminution in time or space; in it a single thought is ten thousand years.Â
Emptiness here, Emptiness there,
but the infinite universe stands always before your eyes.Â
Infinitely large and infinitely small;
no difference, for definitions have vanished
and no boundaries are seen.Â
So too with Being and non-Being.
Waste no time in doubts and arguments
that have nothing to do with this.Â
One thing, all things;
move among and intermingle,
without distinction. - Excerpt from the Tsin Tsin Ming, by Seng T'san (my underlines)Â
