  1. Opening the leg channels?

How important this is. It would be impossible to explain this using words. I call it the PATH TO UNLOCKING YOUR TRUE SELF. Quoting the main training method of Chinese internal martial artist, Ma Gui: "Ma Gui advocated a rigorous approach to training with a heavy emphasis on developing extraordinary lower leg strength. According to current Ma Gui Style Baguazhang teacher Li Baohua, "The Baguazhang passed on by Ma Gui emphasizes the lower basin walking, so his lower legs were extremely thick. Lower basin walking means that the strength of the whole body is concentrated on the lower legs and feet, using the hidden strength of the bones and tendons. Ma Gui's lower legs were so developed that the shin bone was completely protected by tissue. He often had Liu Wanchuan (Li Baohua's grandmaster) look at his shins, and would occasionally allow people to hit them with wooden or iron staffs." Ma Gui would often wear a sand filled jacket on his body or a sand filled belt around his waist or legs for strength training and would also attach ropes on nearby trees to make a netting, and then train under the netting. The netting would ensure that he stayed low. Ma Gui was also known to demonstrate his strength by Bagua circle walking underneath a three foot high table. While an impressive feat, the majority of Ma Gui's leg training was not done through walking at such an extremely low level, but rather was cultivated by countless hours of his system's "bear walking:" slow concentrated circle-walking in a horse stancethat dramatically transforms the large tendon lines from neck to feet and strengthens the entire body." Amen to that! Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ma_Gui_(martial_artist)
  2. Qigong and cults

    1. If you want to heal yourself and become more spiritual take up Martial Arts. 2. If you want to fight take up meditation.
  3. They all are MICKEY MOUSE kind of practices. If you want real results a hardcore, GOLIATH-like practice is what you need to adopt in order to: 1. Open 2. Release 3. Purge 4. Balance 5. Maintain 6. Go with the flow Internal Martial Arts fit the bill, especially two of them: 1. Ba Gua Quan 2. Xingyi Quan The former is the better of the two because of the: 1. Coiling 2. Twisting 3. Squeezing Forces it generates. Everything is undone. These forces are generated under "constant movement" and movement is now more important than ever before due to the current level of stagnation of society and the way of thinking, which is too rigid. These practices need to be combined with a grounding method to make sure the 'beast within' is really tackled: "The Asian squat." Supplement these practices with seated (and lying flat on the ground, if needed) meditation and you are all set for good. Hard work, dedication and discipline will deliver the goods.
  4. David Verdesi

The unknown teacher is the one I can vouch for.
  5. Becoming Supernatural by Dr Joe Dispenza. What a load of horse poop. Ramtha School of Enlightenment. A cult with the intent of profit and exploitation of the gullible. More MCO snake oil as usual.
  6. Microcosmic orbit transmission

The good news is that your MCO is open already. The bad news is the person in charge of that Taoist lineage, or whatever it is, is a phoney.
  7. 1. Significant weight loss 2. Softening of the entire body 3. Clearing of all damp & heat 4. Opening of the eyes (the Liver externally opens in the eyes) 5. Opening of the joints of the entire body 6. Strengthening of the limbs (related to the Spleen becoming more balanced, rising its force up rather than downwards as it happens to most people, so more Qi is created and delivered efficiently to the entire 'body') 7. Sharpening of auditory and smelling functions (Kidney and Lung) 8. Decreased appetite & need to sleep 9. Edit: sexual activity ---> none but urges are there so it's an ongoing work as this mental habit is a tough one to beat. Ask any monastics about it. You'll hear interesting stories about how the Mind will try to trick you with this one!
  8. I am very new to Taoism ,please guide me

No books, you won't learn Taoism from reading books. This had to be experienced by yourself from self-realisation. Put all your sincere efforts in finding a good internal martial arts teacher. When your literally start opening up from within then Taoism (and everything else for that matter) will become clear. You can find teachers here or ask if none listed in your area. Another good learning source: Internal Intent Good luck!
  9. Zhan Zhuang and Damp-Heat Syndrome

Pedro, This is pretty much the Western version of Vipassana and how certain mental conditions (knots in our consciousness) give rise to damp-heat (prevalent in certain people according to their star sign and animal sign; A Leo Fire Snake will suffer from it rather than a Cancer Metal Pig): Gurdjieff & the Further Reaches of Self-Observation Too much thinking ----> damp-heat If interested, you can always contact a teacher from this group: http://www.internalintent.com/global The leader happens to be the uncle of my teacher, Geoff Sweeting. He taught me Bagua in Australia, so I can vouch for the quality, depth and healing power of their method.
  10. Zhan Zhuang and Damp-Heat Syndrome

You just clearly stated yourself the roof of the problem which is a constant on Earth right now: 1. Excessive concentration 2. Technology 3. Ungroundedness 4. Worrying and brooding Germany is just a location you chose to control that accumulated HEAT you have but still won't solve the problem. If you are serious about completely solving damp-heat let me strongly advise you to move to the southern hemisphere anywhere East as it is ruled by the Wood element. That way you'll clear the organs (Liver and gallbladder) efficiently and deeply releasing a lifetime of bad habits. Emotions will be cleared too as a result since the Liver REGULATES all our emotions. It is a very sensitive organ in that regard. The Liver also regulates the smooth movement of Qi in the entire energetic system. I have met monks in Thailand and Australia who suffered from damp-heat their entire lives but upon relocating to these countries they managed to resolve the condition, obviously following a very strict life of practice. I'm talking about European Western monks not Thai or Australian. I was also born and grew up in Europe and moved to Australia in the late 90s. ZZ won't do much to fix it, it will only release the exterior part. For that you need to take up deeper practices like the Internal Art of Ba Gua Zhang with a lot of foundation practice (ma bu/horse stance and Asian Squat on a daily basis). Vipassana meditation is good too but it suits better monastery lifestyle as it requires many hours of daily practice. Make sure you move a lot because this condition results from STAGNATION resulting from inactivity (hours of study sitting on a chair and a desk and not moving enough). Damp-Heat is a very difficult condition to cure according to TCM. In the meantime stop any activity, if you do, after the Wood phase becomes active (after 11pm right until you get up in the morning) and NO EATING AFTER SUNSET, preferably a lot earlier if you can. Good luck
  11. Video as an acceptable form of evidence

Your inner realisation does not need any evidence. Your gain(s) stay with you for good. There isn't any need to prove anything to others as in that case you'll entirely motivated by your EGO, which is clearly seen in the behaviour of many of these modern day gurus, masters, teachers, etc. The "ego" is the one of the toughest hurdles to overcome on this path.
  12. Zhan Zhuang and Damp-Heat Syndrome

BUT you need to understand what causes FOOD ALLERGIES in the first place. A: Weak EARTH FORCE (principle). Physiologically translated as a not functioning properly/weak DIGESTIVE SYSTEM. What caused this in the first place? A: Schooling system. Too much study and concentration (OVERACTIVE WOOD FORCE) which weakens the EARTH. This is part of the 5 ELEMENT THEORY OF TCM-TAOISM. YEAR AFTER YEAR, ON AND ON, SEASON AFTER SEASON, from CHILDHOOD TO ADULTHOOD. CLIMATE CHANGE? A: A WEAK EARTH CAUSED BY HUMANITY'S EXCESSIVE THINKING!! It takes years to return the SPLEEN & OVERACTIVE STOMACH to a NORMAL STATE due to eating too fast, too much, too late, junk food, not enjoying and valuing what you have eaten. Eating from one bowl, the Bhikkhu diet (alm's bowl), showing gratitude and meditate while you eat will HEAL THE EARTH (any digestive problems will vanish over time).
  13. You don't have to travel to a fairy tale mountain to see that. In any Buddhist monastery in Thailand I have seen many Vipassana lay practitioners radiating vitality, their eyes oozing Qi like a river. After only 3-weeks of solid practice. It's all it takes,
  14. Zhan Zhuang and Damp-Heat Syndrome

Not diet really as in focusing on a culprit. Cheese in fact is: Temperature: neutral Channels: LU, SP, LV Flavors: sweet, sour Tonifies: qi, blood, yin I eat cheese almost on a daily basis and don't suffer from damp-heat. In winter less often as warm foods dominate my diet and there is no need to nourish the Yin during those times as it is cold. BUT: 1. How you eat 2. When you eat 3. How much you eat Real culprits: 1. State of MIND 2. Emotions related to point 1. Anger, resentment, frustration, guilt, blame 3. Excessive thinking and study. Wood is thinking and excess Wood causes heat which in turn weakens the balancing nature of the Earth force (Spleen). Earth dislikes COLD & DAMP. 4. Alcohol consumption. As per 3. 5. Sexual activity including "solo" practices. As per 3. 6. Excessive activity & exercise which damages the Yin, depleting fluids and as a result damp and heat arise in the internal organs namely: Liver, GB, Lower Jiao, Stomach, Spleen, L & S Intestines. Focus on your own Mind rather than blaming cheese, coffee, chocolate and the like. Learn how to eat according to your star sign, animal sign & Ba Zi and eat according to seasonal changes. Keep enjoying your cheese.
  15. 1. Which secrets? 2. When the student does the hard work the fruits will be reaped. End of story!
  16. Zhan Zhuang - Grounded or Ungrounded

Pointless. It reminds me of: "The story of the Tower of Babel explains the origins of the multiplicity of languages. God was concerned that humans had blasphemed by building the tower to avoid a second flood so God brought into existence multiple languages. Thus, humans were divided into linguistic groups, unable to understand one another." All for one and one for all, united we stand divided we fall. ~Alexandre Dumas (The Three Musketeers) ENGLISH FOR ALL, as this the official language for ALL here in this forum.
  17. Everyone post some favorite quotes!

So you like Rumi now, do you? One of the greatest ancient teachers. Lots of wisdom: Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you. Wonderful! I still remember this quote my Bagua teacher told me when I started my journey. Little I knew back then.
  18. Staying in a buddhist monastery?

Thailand & Burma. Really good monasteries there and at one point if you do well and like living in them you could be transferred to centres in the West. Start here: https://retreat-infos.de/Download/RFAE2010.pdf Good luck!
  19. 1. When you ready you'll reach it. 2. It can't be taught I'm afraid. What you can do is learn a proven method that works on the Body & the Mind. 3. Correct. It's called delusion, ego-centrism. 4. I'll invite you to find out by yourself. The sense of accomplishment and gratification is enormous but you still have to keep chopping wood and carrying water. Life doesn't end with the so-called enlightenment which is a very specific mental state. 5. When you reach the great realisation of what YOU REALLY ARE. Also no more physical incarnations. You finished for good.
  20. 2022 - Year of the Tiger (Water)

No fairy tales: POWER OF OBSERVATION.
  21. In a nutshell because of the heavy Water influence on this year: "Resist the tendency to respond on impulse, and give room to think things out and research from all perspectives before leaping ahead because it will benefit you greatly." Feng Shui forecast and horoscope of 2022 Note: to the author(s) of the Year of the Tiger main page logo: we'll done!
  22. Zhan Zhuang - Grounded or Ungrounded

It doesn't matter. It's about anchoring the Qi in the feet and opening the hip area as well as knees & ankles yo develop a solid foundation. I do the asian squat daily with bare feet on my balcony. Supplement it with the Asian Squat and stay in that squat position for as long as you like making sure you move the Qi down using your mind. Gently! I scan hips, legs, feet and toes making sure the Qi flows to those areas nicely and slowly without forcing anything. Breathe naturally and in s calm manner as if you were practicing formal meditation.
  23. 2022 - Year of the Tiger (Water)

Indeed forest dweller Taoism is within EVERY SINGLE BEING IN EXISTENCE...and not only on Earth and on this plane. Just the task of discovering it is another thing entirely. Dog & Tiger make the best of friends and also with the Horse. The three belong to the category of MOVING/INDEPENDENCE SEEKING category. The others are: 1. THINKING: Buffalo/Ox, Rooster & Snake 2. POWER: Rat/Mouse, Monkey & Dragon 3. SENSITIVE/EMOTIONAL: Rabbit, Pig/Boar & Sheep/Goat
  24. 2022 - Year of the Tiger (Water)

...and if you practice deep you come across universal truths. The Ancients knew everything but the thinkers came along with their science, technology and BIG EGOS and changed Taoism from shamanism to rationalism. This happened a long, long time ago. Da Vinci also knew.
  25. mopaineikung.com is it legit?

    A delusional Taoist CULT.
